  1. All ready started, Ray. Opened a Revell box with 3 hot rods - '34 roadster, '29 tudor, and a panel delivery. Eyes are good so far and I thought they stay that way. Going to a vein guy tomorrow for an ultrasound on my legs. He saw something in the veins when he cleared the blockages in the arteries. I'm just loving these "golden years".
  2. Tore apart the hobby room in the shop, scrubbed the floor and all the shelves, desks, workbenches. Looks so pretty when it's clean.
  3. Thank you Tom & Ernesto.
  4. This is Revell's new chopper. I finished it in Pearl Ex aztec gold over 3 different shades of grey primer and then shot everything with a couple clear coats. It's all wired up and plumbed for gas and oil.
  5. Thanks Hugh. It was really tough trying to detail paint with the double vision. I couldn't get the tip of the brush exactly where I wanted it to be.
  6. Thanks Derick.
  7. I saw that show too, Harry. Pretty cool. Jay Leno has a lot of cars and even has full time employees taking care of them. Leno doesn't live in Illinois though, so toys like old cars are easier for him to afford.
  8. I don't know if he still owns it or not. I've been down here 16 years, so it's probably 20 years or more since I've heard from him.
  9. Congratulations. The franchise owner in your area used to be Armand D'Agostino. We grew up together.
  10. George Reeves was the ONLY superman, just like Sean Connery is the only Bond, James Bond, Clayton Moore & Jay Silverheels the Lone Ranger & Tonto.
  11. Thanks Terry & Kevin.
  12. Sounds like I need to do a road trip. Been about 2 hours away and never visited any of those shops. Are those shops you mentioned fairly close together, Rob?
  13. Sweet looking ride.
  14. I remember her. Rest in Peace.
  15. It wasn't me, G. I just mind my own business and keep buildin' modelsl
  16. Thanks Dann, Jeremy, and Snake. Bedliner is just Rustoluem texture paint.
  17. I didn't think we had that many people here. I wonder if that includes the snowbirds that come down. If we get more than 4 cars at a stop light, we have traffic issues. Gotta be careful by the horse crossing signs.
  18. Oh yeah. My double vision is gone almost a month now. Don't know what happened. Just gone. Life is good but I haven't heard back from Gregg about volunteering to help MCM. Oh well.
  19. How about doing a financial analysis to figure how much money you're losing by staying around Chicago? Of course in southern Illinois you'll still be paying state taxes. I had a 1300sf house in Aurora, 3 bedrooms, 2 bath, 2 car garage, decent size lot and was paying about $2500.00 in real estate taxes. I can only imagine what the taxes are now. Here in FLA? 1900 sf, in ground pool 16 x 32, 3 beds, 2 bath, 2 car garage, almost 3/4 acre and taxes are $650 a year. Figure out how much I saved in 15 years in just real estate taxes alone.
  20. I know all about the cost of living in the Chicago area and Illinois in general, Harry. I stopped complaining and moved out. Additionally, my body couldn't take the winters anymore and I was sick and tired of sitting in traffic. Citrus County, FL has about 125,000 people in the whole county. Nothing like peace, quiet, and not a lot of people around.
  21. Sell it with all the furniture in it. Pack your clothes, computer, and modeling supplies and get out already. You're way overdue.
  22. They weren't constant. Those moves happened over a span of about 30 years. My plan was to buy a small fixer upper house and spruce it up. Sell it for more than I paid and buy a larger fixer upper and keep on going. That was the plan and then life got in the way. My best move was getting out of Illinois (hint, hint).
