thought of doing this a long time ago and glad to see someone do it. Almost impossible to do this concept now since both kits are hard to find now. Good looking car.

Thanks for the comments. I think when one is building the model, then one will understand the complication in one car. This Honda is a very complicated machine and this kit shows it well. Even with great details, it still lack many small and important details such as the wiring and even some components, I will do my best to add those details in. Plus these big kits give me a lot of room to put some fun stuff in too. will be thinking about how to make this kit stand out once the basics are done. The chassis is basically together now. So I started adding more wiring and plumbing into the engine last night. Did the 4 pipes from the throttle body last night. here is how it look.

did the center console today. we are in a shortage of tamiya black paint in taiwan right now, so can't really finish the rest of the panels. Still looking at the model and thinking what else can be done up on it. The center console is a real magic piece of this kit, Every button is there and it does look very sharp.

The tach is not suppose to be side way. But this is usual trick that Porsche people like to do on their car. So I turn it side ways. The purpose of doing so is that redline is at your direct sight line. The tires are scrubbed with a 180 sandpaper and the gunk is glued on by hairspray. Hopefully it is strong enough to hold it for a while plus the car smells good now.
-
No, going to build it as a standard issue. Although I have friend that made all the parts for a R model. But I prefer the NSX in black. I might get the R wheels still.
-
got the front and rear uprights almost done today. Added a PE Disc surface for the brakes. Scrubbed it out. I like the way it look on the car. One of the more impressive bits of this kit is the brakes and studs for mounting the rims.
-
this kit is definitely a collector's item, but I hate collecting model in a box, I rather have the thing built and on display. Since this might be the only one I will be building, i might do something special with it. Still thinking about how to get it done. The motor and the wiring is fairly simple and straightforward. Hard to make it accurate but it will look busy with all the wiring and plumbing.

1/12 Porsche 935

Move this car to the underglass and big boyz section already. But one more thing I did to it is the tires. Scrubbed it up. Need to go shop for some aftermarket tire valves and glue some weight on the rims. This car is basically done. -
too bad to what happen to Rosso. The details of the whole car is more superior than Tamiya. Especially in the engine casting. But in closer review of the steps, Rosso still like missed some details that I have to build it into the kit, such as the water hoses for the engine and the small radiator in the rear. But the whole kit is impressive and too bad that Rosso burnt to the ground. This kit is definitely a collector grade item even if the subject is not that exotic. Here is a picture of the start of the wiring process, and the engine need a lot of wires.
-
still tweaking the car. Did the tires to simulate the car after a run.
-
right now it is. The only thing that I will add will be hoses and wiring. Other than that, it's all from the kit and get this, it's mostly snap together with only a few parts that needed to be glued. And the pain is the butt part is it is ABS plastic.

on a mission to clear some of the big boxes in my house. So next up after the 935 is this vintage Rosso 1/12 Honda NSX. A very impressive piece that I picked up a while ago and this one will not never be reissue anymore. A very detail and impressive kit even Honda is not my favorite subject. Got the main body painted already and now working on the engine. Here are some picture of the assemble engine with detailing to follow.

it sounds a bit on the expensive side. In Taiwan, where I am located, there are still odd one floating around and they go for about 150 US dollars but they are regular version with the BBS wheels. I saw this Veilside one before, they are quite rare. Fujimi quality on the big scale is a lot better than their 24 scale offering. Recently i seen one in a model meet. It does look impressive but the engine room looks quite bare with no detailing done. The owner said is a good kit to built but the one big problem is the doors are bit fragile. To me, well worth a try. I might look into getting one in the future after I clear some of my big scale out first.

1/12 Porsche 935 Tamiya

Thanks for the compliment. It's still have a bit of tweaking to go on this. Just finished the tires today. Still need to find some aftermarket tire valves and stick on weights on the wheels. But at least the tires are scrubbed. -
this one is in WIP and under glass section. But this really belong in the big boyz section. A tamiya kit that i struggle to finish in 5 years due to laziness, the actually time of build is about 3 weeks. Did add and modify a few things on the way and slightly weathered it. Still tweaking it a but it is close enough to be featured now. Thanks for looking.
-
I added a lot of stuff in the dash and weathered it. I used quite a bit of PE screw head on the dash and build lens cover for the instrument. Also drilled a cover on top of the dash for venting purpose and wired up the fuse box. Other than that, it's all from the kit. The picture is the dash during WIP. not all done yet but close enough.

Time to move this over to this section. This has been WIp for way too long. Anyways a re-issue Tamiya 1/12 Porsche 935 with PE kit and Cartograph decals. A very superior kit considering it is done in the 70's. Few minor issues and modifications to make it what it is today. The sad part is that some of the decals are layed on with blemish and this kit is all about the Martini colors. But still quite an enjoyable build. Thanks for viewing.

I use the same method on this and the 934, like you said the body can be easily taken off and the rods are strong enough to support the weight of the body. -

finishing up some small detail on this car. drill the adjustment slot for the aero end plates and some more detailing on the car itself. -

And on this kit, I bypass the screws on the body and the body can still be split easily. The screw on the body and the chassis is also a downfall of this kit. -

Large kit has issues just like small kit has it's own set of limitation. But with these big scale, the details can really be brought out to shine.Just a few small details to be put on and then some tweaking then I will call this car done, Pulled out my 1/12 Rosso NSX already. that one is up next. And thinking of some crazy stuff to do it. In truth, this kit is so well engineered especially it came out in the late 70's.The few issues with this kit, the window frame engineering is sort of strange and difficult to put on. Some of the rubber pieces are weak (they tend to break into pieces), I disconnect the steering since it wouldn't last past a few turns. If the steering gears and linkage can be built in metal, then it will be amazing. Other than that, it is great kit. -

mated the engine and the chassis together. It is basically done, just minor details to finish up. 4 years of struggle and laziness.
