hate to be an okole puka, but only one from each, and that's a tough one, I know It's tough to narrow it down with some of them. Dirk and Dwayne, your lists have hit me big time Dirk, I think there is one or two you left out, but you are too humble :-) Can't believe it's been a decade since I have been drooling over your work

I casted a set of the M/T Big Block valve covers I mastered when it was freezing here, got down to 70, but they turned out okay :-) Sorry guys, just had to throw that in I'm packing up the FJ, cooler will be full, and we will be hitting the North Shore for the day on Sunday..... Should I rub it in some more??????

Detail Master and The Model Car Garages make a great ones! The Revell-Monogram `37 Ford had a good one too. Any of the AMT VW Rabbits or Sciroccos had a cool one also.

What Would You Like For Christmas?
Gregg replied to Gregg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Both, actually. If it was made by AMT or MPC, then that covers it. Yes, some kits would have to be redone, reverse engineered as you say, but that doesn't hinder our wishes, right? Thanks Luc! Hope you are having a great Christmas already I just got up, and most of you, or actually all of you, are more than halfway through your Christmas day :-) -

This is your chance to get your voice heard guys and gals. What kits from AMT would you like to see reissued from AMT for 2008? If you have specifics, like last year produced, kit name, etc., that would help a lot. Thanks everyone. I sincerely hope everyone has a safe, happy, and very Merry Christmas. -
Gary, do you have pics or references on this car? What year make model was it? Doesn't ring a bell to me, maybe to some of our readers?

12 Megapixels W/5x Optical ?
Gregg replied to Steve D.'s topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have to agree with Aaron, but I am biased :-) He let me use his Canon at the IPMS Nationals and I was very impressed! I was able to control his camera through my notebook just by plugging it in. I enjoyed working with Aaron's camera. That's one of the one's I would get, but this G3 was a deal I couldn't pass up Thanks, Aaron! And Merry Christmas to you and your wife. -
12 Megapixels W/5x Optical ?
Gregg replied to Steve D.'s topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Steve, thanks for writing. There are just a couple of things to look for in a new digital camera First off, you want to be able to have control over the functions of the camera, not just Auto, Program, and "Hope This Works" You want to find a camera that has these settings, besides automatic: TV, AV and M With the new cameras, you can great results using AV, which is Aperture Priority. You also want to find a camera that has high of an aperture opening as possible, the higher the number, the better. I can get by with an F8, but an F11 would be better. You can also check to see what the zoom will do to the F-Stop. Sometimes, when you zoom in, it goes up to a higher F-Stop, for better depth of field I bought a used Canon G3 off eBay for $80. Here is a test shot using nothing more than two Wally World flood lamps I will check on the specs of the cameras you are looking at. -
Trouble Logging In Or Registering?
Gregg posted a topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I am getting a lot of failed mail messages from the server If you have tried to register, or your account is locked, check your IP or email program for Bulk, Spam, or other blocked emails from modelcarsmag.com, secureserver.net. You should add these two IP's to your "white" or safe list. I am trying to get a certification that will put my servers on the automatic safe list. Until then, have patience, and check your Spam/Bulk mail folders for messages from the forum. Mele Kalikimaka!!! -
Thanks, Bill, the check's in the mail.....

I have two 250GB firewire 800 externals The files to backup are not small, and take a while to do, and when you work 16 hours a day, or more, on the puter, there is little or no time to do the backups I know, lame excuse... The "Current Issue" folder is about 50GB, and that's just what's in the hopper Online backup would be of no use to me, due to the time I should have had my settings backed up daily, something I will do once I recover from this. I will also set up my second hard drive internally as a RAID, and pick up a new 1TB external for everything else. Live and learn....

After posting my reply what was it, Friday night?, about Jeff Sauber's experience with hackers, PC's and puter problems, I got hit by something I can't explain. No, Mr. Geary, it was not a Mac hacker who finally "got through", it was simply an act of nature that hit me We have been having major wind, thunder, and rain storms for the past few weeks, and I thought I was all good and protected, with two small UPS APC backup power supplies. Well, Friday night I was doing some "legitment" online reseach, and there was a zap, lights went out, something popped, and everything came back on. I thought I was protected, what with the two UPS (Uninterupted Power Supply, Not THE UPS), but the damage was done You see, I run about twelve or fifteen programs AT ONCE, and due to the surge, certain portions of those programs got zapped because they were running. I never noticed it at first, and it wasn't until Saturday night that found out what happened. I tried to do some work, and I go a strange reaction, or lack of one After doing some tests, it comes to light that the volume structures of the hard drive in about 12 or 15 places where overwritten twice, which in laymen's terms means I'm Scooby Dooed! I have been running utilities and restore programs since Saturday night. The problem is this: I have backups, but since I have doing back-to-back issues since October, I never had the chance to do full backups since then Everything I have new from October to now is gone Emails, files, pics, links, stories, edits, final's proofs, etc, is bahbye I have to do everything all over again if this final utility does not work So, if you have sent me an email, pic, link, or question, and I have not responded, you now know why I may have to ask a lot of you to resend stuff, but I hope this last utility works, and I can resurect at least two of the basic directories I need I still love Mac's, but I have bought a new battery backup system that weighs a ton, is about as big as the Mac G5 Tower, and will protect me through the next tsunami. I am running on the old PowerBook right now, using the web email programs of my server and Yahoo I can get email, but I have no access to anything from before. This sucks

Jeff Sauber's Deleted Post
Gregg replied to Gregg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Actually, today was a WHOOPER!!!!! -
Talked with Jeff Sauber tonight, someone got into his system somehow and took over his IP address and went out and spread havoc throughout the Internet. So, all those posts that were deleted were not done by Jeff. He will sign back in with another screen name. Weird stuff going on in PC land Sure glad I got a Mac!!!
