  1. Another great build going here. Paint, wheels, stance - all just right.
  2. I like it! Well done.
  3. You nailed the look with this one, Marc! The stance gives it a brutal look. It's perfect. Congrats on the award too! What did you use for a base under the Goldmine Pearl? I just picked up a can at NNL East and would like to get a tint/hue similar to this when I'm done.
  4. Nice one, Irvin! "Arter Modelworks. We rake more in 4 days than the other guys rake in a month."
  5. Very, very nice! That's the AMT kit?! The headlights really do make a world of difference. Great job.
  6. Great build, Ken! Love it! Are the Mysterion rears deep dish Radir mags?
  7. Oh yeah, this is too cool. Just beautiful! Great job, and welcome to the forum!
  8. Sounds great! Gregg - what's "high resolution" mean, as far as pixels and file size? Thanks.
  9. Vince, get one of the Revell "Rat Rod" kits, like Tom mentioned. They have 16" '40 Ford steel wheels with nice trim rings & caps. For the slicks, try the Revell '64 T-bolt kit, since the rear wheels in that kit are 16" also. It has blackwall slicks you can paint whitewalls on, or leave as-is. And if you want a deeper steel wheel than the Rat Rod offering, the T-bolt comes with that option too. Post some progress pics when you can!
  10. It looks like Tom Kren did the following: Remove the upper tree with a razor saw. For final assembly, slide kit bar up into neck, glue upper tree back on with two or three glue joints. I'm going to try this on my next chopper build.
  11. Customer Service is dying. I've quit two different retail establishments in the last month due to sub-par service. You need to vote with your wallet. (I'm an easy-going guy, don't fly off the handle at the drop of a hat. But if I'm paying for a good or service and I get a ration of s**t with it, I'm gone.) With the internet nowadays there is certainly no reason to support a LHS that has outrageous prices and no return policy. I think people feel some sort of misguided obligation to support their LHS no matter what. Why? Treat it like any other business, IMO.
  12. That vertical bar going from the center of the dash up to the roof hoop. After Dale's '97 crash where he was upside-down and a car ran into him, they mandated that bar to prevent cabin intrusion in similar wrecks. I'm in the same boat as you for Nascar - Lost interest in Feb. '01.
  13. NICE builds! Welcome to the forum.
  14. Larman, this thing was the star of NNL East for me. Rising up from the middle of that table in all its greatness. "Best in Show" in my book. Great job, sir!
  15. Looking GOOD! Painted interior is great, sanded tires, wheel weights. Won't be long before you have PE hood pins on these cars. Nice work, Billy. Keep it up!
  16. Dick, this build just gets to me. I enjoyed seeing it at NNL East. Chop, channel, colors, stance, blanket seat - it all works so well! Great job.
  17. Also, check your local craft store for an "armature wire" section. It's aluminum rod in various diameters for framing sculptures, etc. There are even a few brands that offer straight rod in tubes. I picked up some at Micheal's to make 1" handlebars for my 1/12 chopper, so that size would work well for 2" header pipes in 1/25. Then you'll only have to bend it, not straighten it.
  18. YEEEEEEEE - HAAAAAAAAAW! Nice jump shot - I love it. You are king of the pre-runners.
  19. Well done, Mark. Betcha fooled a lot of people with this one!
  20. Lookin' GREAT in the gray with yellow accents. Nice job! Are those aftermarket wheels?

    '66 Volkswagen

    Great replica build, Rick! Super!
  22. Very cool! Great conversion work. Looks like something a Government "revenuer" would be driving in TN in the early '50s. To chase those moonshiners!
  23. Nice! It looks great with slicks out back. I have this kit and hope to build it sometime soon. Like Jeff said, it's something different for a Cobra.
  24. Very nice! That looks so real, it's unreal. Weathering is perfect. Great job, Peter.
  25. Nothing you can do. I'd display it as-is. It is literally a one-off piece of art now. I like it. Just roll with it. Don't mess with Texas [heat].
