  1. I like it!
  2. Looks great, Steve! I think this seals it - my next one will be hardtopped. Just removing that pillar really changed the look. You shaved the drip rail too, right? The curved glass trim will be so nice.
  3. SWEET! Looks like something right out of Lead East. Great job there, Paul.
  4. Lookin' nice! Great color combo. Nothin' beats copper and black, in my book. Keep up the good progress!
  5. Slick! That's got all the right touches, Lyle. Looking forward to the MAMA Merc now.
  6. Thanks guys! Hey, Irvin! Good to see you again. I thought we lost you for good to slot car dragsters.
  7. Perfection! I like the stance just like that. Love the wheelcovers too. How did you trim out the frenched bezels? They look great. I just got a machined aluminum set from Bob Dudek and they're nice too.
  8. That looks great so far, Dave! The roof rack is unreal. Nice scratchbuilding there!
  9. Nice color choice, Jeff. That really suits the car. Aren't these fun?!
  10. Lookin GOOOOOOD! Love that color! I'll be watching for new pics.
  11. Jay, you build beautiful models. All of your Nascars look great. Stance & paint seal the deal. Thumbs up!
  12. Wild! Nice fab work. Is there a grille shell on there? Whitewalls up front would look good too.
  13. I couldn't resist! Seeing all the in-progress shots lately, I just had to push my uncle's '40 Coupe replica to the corner of the shop and spend a week on a new Merc. I'm going to get as close as I can to this stance. It's got Modelhaus Sombreros in Modelhaus T-170 fronts & T-160 rears. (I wanted to go for a little different look with hot rod big & littles.) I filled the taillight and front signal holes. Color will be Testors Lacquer Dark Cherry Pearl with a Tamiya Pearl White interior. I sanded the hood front smoother to remove those flat spots. Mold lines were gone after one sanding. This kit is awesome. I already have another planned out.
  14. I'll cast my vote for Jack @ Model Roundup - Great service and communication, and quick shipping from GA to NY.
  15. Beautifully done, Bob. Nice save of a neat little car. It's too bad we'll never see this kitted again. Congrats on finally adding it to your case!
  16. I could enjoy this one 8 days a week. Very kool!
  17. WOW! Very clean build, well detailed and beautiful paint. Thumbs up! "Schone!"
  18. Wicked! I love everything about it. Especially that louvered visor.
  19. Classic. I like it a lot!
  20. Oh, man! I don't even build 4x4s, but I want to now. Very cool! Clean too.
  21. This is great! Miles of smiles for this one. Your modifications really make it too, Steve. Nice job.
  22. And I, some of the "tradition!" That looks great so far, Lyle. I love the color combo and the choice of a Vette mill. That seat piping looks keen too!
  23. I just spotted this on the Testors website. Just in time for all those kustom '49 Mercurys we're building! Colors from left to right are: De Ja Blue Lime Ice Inca Gold Fiery Orange Revving Red Mythical Maroon White Lightning Blazing Black Diamond Dust Wet Look Clear They're called "One Coat Metallic Lacquers - One easy coat, dries in 20 minutes." An online hobby retailer lists the release as "Mid-September." I'm most excited about the Inca Gold! Model on...
  24. I like it! Great engine bay detailing. Amen to that. Build 'em!
  25. I love it - color, stance, everything. Very nice!
