Looks great, Steve! I think this seals it - my next one will be hardtopped. Just removing that pillar really changed the look. You shaved the drip rail too, right? The curved glass trim will be so nice.
Perfection! I like the stance just like that. Love the wheelcovers too.
How did you trim out the frenched bezels? They look great. I just got a machined aluminum set from Bob Dudek and they're nice too.
I couldn't resist! Seeing all the in-progress shots lately, I just had to push my uncle's '40 Coupe replica to the corner of the shop and spend a week on a new Merc.
I'm going to get as close as I can to this stance. It's got Modelhaus Sombreros in Modelhaus T-170 fronts & T-160 rears. (I wanted to go for a little different look with hot rod big & littles.)
I filled the taillight and front signal holes. Color will be Testors Lacquer Dark Cherry Pearl with a Tamiya Pearl White interior.
I sanded the hood front smoother to remove those flat spots. Mold lines were gone after one sanding. This kit is awesome.
I already have another planned out.
I just spotted this on the Testors website. Just in time for all those kustom '49 Mercurys we're building!
