  1. NIIIIICE blue color! In person, would you say it's closer to the pic of the body or the close up of the wheels in the tires? I really like how it looks on the body shell.
  2. Greg, With AMT reissues, it appears to be hit or miss with the custom (Stylized) clips. The '57 Chevy from 2000s has them, while the '57 Fairlane does not. The '50 Ford convertible 3n1 has some nose options, and the aforementioned '53 F100 does have the Chevy rear fenders and a couple of custom grille treatments. And, of course, the repops that put the stylized stuff front and center on the box art ('63 Galaxie, '61 Fairlane) contain the wild clips too. The AMT '64 Marauder has front and rear clips that mimic the Adonis '60 Ford. The '65 Grand Prix has some wild (ugly, IMO) front and rear treatments too. I guess the moral of the story is: With AMT vintage repops in the 1990s & 2000s, you never know what you got 'til you bought it and opened the box!
  3. WOW. Great news if both of these rumors are true, especially a new-tool '56 F100!
  4. The future is now! I'm freaking out!!
  5. Beautiful! In both design and workmanship. Very, very nice.
  6. Nicely done! Clean build shows off the great lines of the '62, even in showroom-fresh form.
  7. This custom truck is proportioned perfectly and a flawless build. I looked it over many times at NNL East. Possibly my favorite build there. Very nicely done, sir!
  8. Hey Walt! Nice build, bud. Sharp looking R/T. Love the color.
  9. "Heyyyy, there's no birthday party for me here." -Jeff Spiccoli
  10. Cool tip on the cloth tape - thanks! If you have another '50 cab, try a 'cheater's section" - shave the door hinges and take the amount you want off the bottom of the cab. Works especially well on pickup cabs. Try it and then compare the two cabs and use the one you like more.
  11. Well, that sure is unique! Great looking seat upholstery. Where'd ya get that 1/25 burlap? I love it. The fenderless pickup you like looks to be sectioned between the door hinges, effectively making the windows appear taller than OEM by bringing the door metal:window ratio closer to 50:50. You may want to try that on yours, or not. It's up to you. I'm sure people told Ed Roth his stuff was "different" too!
  12. Glad you found it, Nate. Dang, it's tough getting old. Memory's the first to go. Most of Modelhaus' wheels are mastered from AMT 15" wheels. I believe the Rat Rod steelies are a scale 16". So the MH wheel will drop right through the Revell tire. That said, I eyeballed the Modelhaus spiders on my Rat Rod steels recently and it looks like a good fit. Here's one on an AMT '59 El Camino wheel (as posted on TRaK)
  13. Hi Nate. You chose a good car to replicate - she's a beauty! Modelhaus makes the spiders separately, but they also make them molded to their chrome reversed wheels too (part #s W-120 & W-150). So, it's your call. For the grille, doesn't the AMT '55 Nomad have a Vette grille option? If so, just grab a couple of those and create your own 14-toother.
  14. AMT '51 Chevy Fleetline has some really nice ones. Tom Kren used them on his T-bucket: Tom's '25 from Under Glass
  15. Comp Coupe Nice build!
  16. I like it! Great job on the stance and proportions. Keep at it.
  17. Wow, that is a neat concept drawing. And you are doing a great job of getting it into three dimensions. Keep it up!
  18. Jon, just glue A to B, then insert in C. Just kidding! I got the same from Jimmy about 3 years ago. Neat little car!
  19. Kool kruiser! Hard to beat a shaved and lowered '65 Rivi on wires. Nice build.
  20. "Maneater" is wicked! Is Dave still building? I always enjoyed his builds.
  21. YEAH! I love it! Great build. That interior is fantastic.
  22. Well done! Looking gooood.
  23. Great build of a beautiful race car!
  24. The one time I had that happen, I didn't realize that the DupliColor I used was enamel and I cleared with Future a few days after painting. Clear looked great for a few days, then it checked all over like that spoon when the paint gassed out through the clear. That would be my guess what happened to you too.
