Ron,
The kit builds up fine. The problem I am having is with the paint, which is my fault. This version is moulded in coral(body and interior) and graphite(ghassis and running gear). I have been looking at various reference material on the car, as to what to paint, which color, vs. the instructions, as well as photos of various examples of the car, and I can say that things can get confusing. For instance, if you look at the photographed car on the box lid, as well as the 55 Chevrolet paint application instructions, when you get the Coral and Gray interior, the dashboard, steering wheel and column is shadow gray, while several photos I have seen of both original and restored cars, these parts were coral. I did mine in coral, like the built up model on the box sides.
I wish that Monogram had seen fit to include the rocker mouldings and gas door stainless accessories for the kit, since they included the continental kit and the bumper guards. I suppose these parts can be made out of plastic, and that what I have to do if I want them on the car. I have the ability to do so, but at what cost?
In the next few days, I will make that decision. I'm almost done with this one, as I have listed the things I must to to finish this beast, then it's on to the next one.
