Nail hit right on the head. Thank you Roger.

After all this talk about Ollie's, I took a trip over there. Picked up three Lindberg Dodge Charger police cars, which was a great score, and a Revell '62 Chevrolet Hardtop for a convertible conversion. The price they were offering was great, but I had everything else on their "blowout" section, and besides, I don't have the space for any more kits. They will do fine, as the kits they had are good for filling holes in a collection, and for parts kits. If I had a kid or a friend who was a budding modeler, I would bring them there.

Funny this post would come up. Years ago, I bought a set of Lazer stripes for the Gran Torino Sport from a vendor on Ebay, and they looked pretty good. Today, I was going through my collection, and found a Nascar body that was given to me by a good friend well before the Revell announcement. I have a Johan Snapper that is unbuilt, as well as a Nascar kit. When the Revell kit comes out, I am going to kitbash it with the Body I have to do a variation of Clint Eastwood's Gran Torino. I wish that I could tell you where those stripes came from, but I bought them over 5 years ago, if not 10 years.

It came out fair, but not perfect. You should have seen it when I started. I am not going to hijack your thread with it, but I will post it soon on my own thread.

I like the look of this one Bob. I am in the midst of restoring a glue-bomb AMT '71 into a Heavy Chevy. I have not decided on an exterior color yet. It has been cleaned up, and ready for paint.

new missing link 1965 buick wildcat!
Ron Hamilton replied to kevin's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I agree fully with Antonio's statement concerning Missing Link Resin. I have several of their trans-kits, as well as replacement parts. -
That is a very nice build. Brings back memories. I liked the car myself. I had three of them for demos over the years, a 4-door Sedan, and 2 X-11 Hatchbacks, a white Stick, and a Silver Automatic.

The absolute worst kit ever!

I see the same expression on your face I had on mine whenever Mom gave me a Palmer kit. Priceless!!!! -
MPC 70-74 Barracuda History/ Review
Ron Hamilton replied to ChrisPflug's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Thank you for doing this thread. As a kid in junior hiigh school, I built one of the original annual MPC '70 'Cudas which was moulded in lime. I could not stand the color of the styrene (14 year old mind at the time) and painted it with Pactra Orange matallic, which gave it a bronze cast. Of course it is long one. Several years ago, I found a glue-bomb on Ebay, and snapped it up. It was unpainted and moulded in white. I wanted a decent '70 'Cuda model, and that AAR 'Cuda (1st series) from Revell would not cut it. I cut up an AMT '71 Charger R/T (Latest tool), and fit everything under the MPC. This is what I ended up with. While it is not absolutely perfect, I am very happy with it. I plan to do the same thing with a '74 promo. -
Oldsmobile Engines
Ron Hamilton replied to MrObsessive's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The Jo Han Toronados are front drive, with a specific transmission and air cleaner, and no A/C, while the Delta 88 is rear drive. The Revell Cutlass has a Turbo 400 as one of its transmissions, and a A/C accessory drive, both of which may work on the full sized car. -

Yes, I like it.

That is looking really nice. Funny thing, I noticed the same blemish in the door of mine. I am still gathering the parts to build mine, which will be a Replica Stock.

Very Nice!!!!!

"NEW" MPC Dukes of Hazzard kit not what you expected
Ron Hamilton replied to Greg Myers's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
The kit in the photo looks good to me, but to be frank with you, no cash of mine will be used to get one. I have several Revell '69's, and i have a set of the decals somewhere, I watched the show back in the day, and got a kick out of it. I had an original MPC kit with the 500 rear window, which I stupidly used a derelict '70 Charger I built for the tunnel back window, as I preferrred the '69 to the '70 at the time. With the exception of Cooter's tow rig, I have the MPC DOH cars in my collection. -
Oldsmobile Engines
Ron Hamilton replied to MrObsessive's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
You're the one who got that one eh? The Revell ols Cutlass engine is the best bet for the engine and the ancilliary parts that go with it. I snagged a incomplete kit, and was able to get the engine, and everything else I need for my secret Olds project. If you can find a kit, it's kind of pricy, but those parts are worth the price of admission. -
AMT 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS 454 - Misty Turquoise
Ron Hamilton replied to RandyB.'s topic in Model Cars
Very Nice!!!!! -
Honey Wast was kind of corny, but I got a kick out of the re-runs. I saw the original Cobra used on the show at a Museum several years ago. I may build one like it.

Unfortunately, she's been off the air for over a year. I enjoyed watching that show, along with Burke's Law.

As a Perry Mason Nut, Perry Drove the following as a personal Car: '57, '58, 59 Ford Skyliner 59 Lincoln Continental if Ford was the primary sponsor for the week '57 Buick Roadmaster Convertible, '58, '59 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible if GM was the primary sponsor for the week '60, '61, 62 Ford Sunliner, '63, 64, 65, 66 Lincoln Continental if Ford was the primary sponsor for the week. '65 Cadillac DeVille Convertible if GM was the primary sponsor for the week Paul Drake Drove a '57 Corvette, '58 through '65 Thunderbird Convertibles, a '64 and a '65 Corvette Roadster.. There was one episode filmed in color (1965). Perry's Lincoln Continental was Silver Blue, and Paul's T-bird was Dark Blue. It was about a car theft ring, and Perry's Lincoln was stripped clean. A Red Mustang Convertible was a prominent car in the episode. Ford was the primary sponsor for that week. The '62 Sunliner was shown on a lot of the episodes after '62, as they used a "stock" photo shot of Perry going into the courthouse. I have a model built of the '60, and '62 Ford Sunliner like the car he drove on the show.

No. The manual column shifter had one bend near the column, for better leverage. while the automatic shifter had two bends in them, and the Column Shift with the tilt wheel (automatic only) had two bends with a more severe angle to them.

Now I can take one of my un-built '70 Pro Modelers to restore this bad boy. The body has been cleaned up, and I have some nice chrome for it. I was going to convert a "Nascar" '71, but this one came to me as a surprise for a reasonable price.

I plan to compare the "new" kit to my original annual AMT '67 SS/RS 350, and the later tool '67 Z28. I am also going to see if my RS grille will work on this one.
