  1. Is is painted a 1966 Turquoise, which is a shade lighter than the 1967 color.
  2. Outstanding!
  3. Whew!!!! I finally finished one. It seems that I have been working on this one forever. It is based on the newly tooled Revell kit, to which I made a few changes, which were chronicaled in the under construction section. I finally finished it as a "day two" car, which was purchased through Yenko Chevrolet in Cannonsburg, PA, with the addition of Lakewood traction Bars, and 14 x 7 Cragar SS wheels, mounted on Firestone Red Line Wide Oval Tires. As I have bult '67 Camaros from AMT (annual, and later tool), and this one both kits have their plusses and minuses, but overall, I liked the way this one came out. It took a litttle more work to get it where I wanted it, but I am happy with the results.
  4. When I restored my '60 Buick Convertible, I had re-scribed all of the body lines, the trim around the fin tips, and the body parts separation points. Judging from your past efforts, this one is bound to be a knockout.
  5. Hmmmmm!!!!!!
  6. The side trim is slightly different on the real car. When I did mine, I removed the front part of the trim where it curves up, and re-did it according to photographs I saw. From what I see, this one looks pretty good. I may get one just to do a more utilitarian Ranchero.
  7. Nice work!!!!
  8. Thanks. I used quite a bit of a Revell '65 Impala for the chassis, floors, and underhood structure. I had to stretch the chassis ever so slightly to center the wheels, but I got everything to work so far. I hope to fit the engine/transmission/exhaust tomorrow.
  9. Thanks for the tip, but I have a better engine candidate, that is if it fits.
  10. That was my oriiginal plan, to do it up as a Starfire. I would have to modify the grille, rear end, tail lights, and side trim to Starfire specs, as well as the entire interior. A Jetstar I would have been more feasible, where the roof, and fender vents would have been the major exterior mods. . On Easter Monday, 1965, Dad traded his '62 Olds Starfire Convertible, which was a twin to this one, for one of these... His car was Navy Blue with a Black Vinyl Roof, and Blue Cloth Interior. It looked to have everything that Olds had to offer for 1965, including the "Starfire" 425/370 engine, and the coolest radio I heard at that point, with a Reverberator. He saw a car like it at the Auto Show. We must have looked at it about 3 or 4 times. Dad tried to buy it on the spot, but he was told it was sold. The idiot salesman did not bother to try to sell him another one, as he did not take him seriously. Big Mistake! When I was in the car business, I could not wait for the auto show, as I consistantly sold vehicles as a result of doing the show. The 98 LS would be the ultimate conversion, as the real car was just so cool. I may just give it a shot at another time, as I have another '65 Olds to re-do. I picked this one up at the same time I got the convertible. I have not taken any other pictures yet, but the majority of the conversion work has been done on the convertible. It's been cleaned up, the hood has been opened, and the underhood work has been done. I have an engine and transmission for it, which I have to fit to the car. I have to find a set of appropriate wheelcovers, and a steering wheel, then it's off to the paint booth. The plan is to paint it in the colors of Dad's car. Dark Blue, with a lighter blue vinyl interior and boot.
  11. In the next few months, I plan to transform this forlorn promo into a nice build. I've already taken it apart, and started work on it. More pics to follow.
  12. That one looks like it was ridden hard, and put away wet. Excellent work Tom!!!!
  13. Downright Georgeous.
  14. The wire wheel covers came in the Hardtop Kit. The Convertible Kit got the custom wheel covers. I made up a set of dog dishes fro the convertible. However, Missing Link resin does a very nice set of '64-70 Pontiac Dog Dish Caps.
  15. Beautiful!!!!
  16. Very Nice!!!!
  17. Stunning!!!
  18. Beautiful work David!!!! The only thing I see is the lack of a black wash in the wiper vents.
  19. I built these from the pre-painted versions of the kit. I polished out the paint, Bare-metaled the chrome trim, added photoetched emblems, re-painted and detail-painted the interior, wheels, grille, and added red lines to the tires. On the convertible, I adapted a set of steelies, and created a set of dog-dishes. It is a wonderful slump-buster kit, that goes together quickly.
  20. I agree with Roger.
  21. That's what I would do too. This one was scratched up, missing the wheels and chrome, and had a busted A-pillar, which I scratchbult to match the other one. I polished it out to remove the scratches, and did not paint it. A cheap '66 T-bird kit donated everything, but the pillar. Since it was not too valuable, I Bare-Metaled the trim.
  22. Excellent!!!!!
