  1. That looks really good, but you are not going to fool any one with the "350" engine call outs on the side marker lamps. I believe in letting them know what whupped them. C.O.P.O. '68 Nova SS 427 Based on the AMT Kit. I am working on my Revell kit at the present time, and it looks similar to yours, as it is a big block car too.
  2. I like what you are doing with that '60 Nomad Wagon. I have an original built-up, that I will restore one of these days. I'm leaning towards a Factory Stock, or mild Low-Rider build in Black with a white spear, and a red/white interior, All the chrome, and spinner wheel covers (Factory Stock)or wire-wheels (Low Rider). I may combine it with the Revell '60, and AMT '59 El Camino to get a more accurate looking build.
  3. I like that. I have to get back to my '64 Impala project. One of these days.
  4. Beautiful!
  5. Welcome to the board. By the way, beautiful Camaro.
  6. Go get em Izzy! I'm not into the classics, but that one is breathtaking!
  7. A couple of years ago, I bought a built up 1969 MPC Impala SS427 Hardtop. It looks as if it was a second time around restoration, as it was cleanly built as a Replica Stock car, but it was not my cup of tea as built. I successfully stripped all of the paint from the body this morning, and now I have to work on the interior tub. I built an 1969 AMT Impala SS 427 Hardtop (which is the superior body) the way I wanted it, and it came out pretty good. I used the chassis, interior floor, and drivetrain from AMT's excellent '67 Impala SS427. I plan to do the same thing with this one, but with a twist, and that's where your opinion comes in. I plan to do one of the following to this one: 1. SS427 Convertible with the correct rear quarter panels, trunk lid, inner side panels. I am going to utilize a lot of the parts from the Revell 1965 Impala Convertible kit, and the big block engine, automatic transmission, console/shifter, steering wheel, and Rally Wheels from the AMT '70 Monte Carlo SS. The "Strato" bucket seats will be modified to be correct. 2. Bel Air or Biscayne 2 door post sedan, with the roof and trunk lid correctly modified, utilizing either the AMT'67 Impala SS427 or Revell '65 Impala Super Sport parts. I have a set of articles on the '69 Chevy post sedans, as well as a set of photos of the real thing. I also have a correct set of '69 Dog Dish hubcaps for the car. What is your opinion???
  8. Tres magnifique, mon ami.
  9. Make sure that you gey the '64 up 8-lugs from the Modelhaus, as the '63 8 Lugs in the kit are wrong. Also, the '63 Bonneville did not have a tri-tone interior in stock form, for some reason I can't explain. I hava a convertible that I am going to do in White, with a blue interior. A friend of my father's had that combo. It was a stunning car.
  10. How about a K code 289/4-speed from the AMT '67 Mustang??? Presonally, I want the doggies and steelies to do a '64 Galaxie 500 R code car, using an AMT '64 and a AMT '60 for the chassis and running gear.
  11. No Toledo for me this year. I have been ill for the past 2 months, and my finances won't let me unless I sell a lot of models.
  12. I decided to make this one a curbside, since I have so many projects in the pipeline.
  13. Beautiful job, as usual Randy.
  14. You have that one lookin' good so far. I have one on my to-do list later on in the year.
  15. I haven't decided on the color yet, but it won't be blue.
  16. I like your '60 Bob.
  17. Bill, this one is going to be a real simple curbside. I finished the bodywork tonight, and I am going to hit it with the final primer coat tomorrow.
  18. While that is an excellent idea, the 4-door is the odd ball out of the bunch, besides, I have 2-64 coupes and a '63 convertible to be restored. The 4-door will be a simple 60's cruiser with parts box wheels and tires and will be painted with whatever I come up with from the paint vault. I did a '62 Coupe years ago in Aqua with the white interior, trimmed in aqua, with American 5-spokes which I may change the wheels out to a set of wire wheels with whitewall tires. That car made the Model Cars' contest issue when I built it.
  19. I picked this one up at the Mid Atlantic NNL. This photo is pretty much as I got it. I removed the skirts and the chrome. The "previous" owner used the "1/2 tube of glue" method of building the car. Not overly sloppy, but glued pretty tight. As you can see, the previous owner had hogged out the flashed over holes for the mirrors and spotlights, as well as giving it a rather uneven metallic blue enamel brush job. There must have been some fins glued on the rear fenders, as there was some residue there. I started the bodywork there. The photos show the new Modelhaus bumpers and rear roll pan. There's more at the link. 60 Corvair resurrection
  20. Go ahead! I dare ya!
  21. Grrreat Work!!!!
  22. I did the "Bare Metal" trim on the Impala last night. Everything was going along pretty well until I decided to remove a pin from underneath the hood, in order for the hood to be better aligned with the body. The brittle plastic cracked right at that point. I cleaned up the "wound" to install a new patch. So now, I have to repair that area, and re-paint the hood. I am going to repaint the header panel at the same time. Fortunately I used lacquer paint.
  23. Very Nice!
  24. The Blue and Silver flake interior will give it a '60's look. A Grant 3-spoke wheel with a flake rim from the '60's would work too.
  25. I painted the car, and rubbed out the finish, which was the Testors' Color which is closest to '71 Chevrolet Classic Copper, with Tamiya Clear lacquer. While it is not the exact shade, It looks pretty good, but I have to touch it up a little. A final glaze and wax will come one the Bare-Metal is done. I also added a black vinyl roof, using the Testors’ two-part spray. The finish is a little coarse to me for 1/25 scale, but it is not going no where. I cleaned up the Promo interior. I have to fill the holes from the convertible boot in, and paint it either black, or beige. The dash detail is very crisp. I hope that I can pick it out properly. Now, on to the Bare-Metal Work. 1971 Impala
