  1. The "King of the Deuces" strikes again!!!!
  2. In looking at the ad photo, the dashboard and forward part of the door was a darker shade of metallic blue, while the seats and rear part of the door was a lighter shade of metallic blue, with a darker blue band, and the carpeting was still another shade of metallic blue. The colors were very close to each other. My cousin had a '63 Bonneville hardtop with a black interior. The brochure has some good illustrations. I removed a paint job and cleaned up an old '63 Bonneville hardtop promo last week. Here's how it looks now, but I am planning to paint it another color, detail the interior, and "bare metal" it. Here is a Ebay link to a '63 Bonneville Convertible with some excellent pictures. 63 Bonneville Converible on Ebay
  3. Speaking of the '59 Cadillac, I went to the trouble of cutting a portion of the headlamp trim away, just to get that body color headlight bucket. I have been so irritated with some of the "new kit tool's propotions", so I have been working on some vintage restorations. Right now, one of the projects I'm working on is a MPC '69 Coronet R/T, depicting as a 440 Magmum w/ track pack. The body work is done (cleaned up and added body separation lines), now I have to decide on a color (red, turquoise, or bronze), the drivetrain(probably a 440 Magmum/4-speed) due to the hood and interior bucket, and wheel combination (more than likely, dog dishes, Magmum 500's or the "Phantom" aluminum wheels). I'm going to use a AMT GTX chassis and running gear, so that I can use the kit's interior tub.. ...and yes, I removed the mould lines, and detailed the seats. I'm not going to add head rests to it, but I plan to use some elements from the "Last Detail" and "Fred Cady" Coronet decal set, and some "Model Car Garage" Photoetch from various Dodges, as appropriate. I may even put a vinyl roof on it. The photos were taken before I worked on it. I'll take some photos when I get it up on wheels. I'm also going to do a '66 Fairlane GT from the annual kit, with the innards from the new kit, similar to my '67, probably in "Emberglow", with a Beige Interior. I am having a hard time with the "newly tooled body" on that one. A '66 Cyclone GT and an "old tool" '67 Cyclone GT is coming down the pike.
  4. Hocus Pocus. That looks great Irv.
  5. Give me a GM Fishbowl anytime.
  6. That build is beautiful. This is my all time favorite car.
  7. So coooool!
  8. I didn't do a '68 Dashboard on this one, but I added an 8-track tape player on the dashboard. I saw the blue Dick Harrell '68 Nova in person a few years ago, and I may replicate it using the new kit. You will get a kick out of the Nova I'm doing now. All I'm gonna say that it is a big block car, with a vinyl roof like yours. Your car is drop dead georgeous.
  9. That looks really good, but you are not going to fool any one with the "350" engine call outs on the side marker lamps. I believe in letting them know what whupped them. C.O.P.O. '68 Nova SS 427 Based on the AMT Kit. I am working on my Revell kit at the present time, and it looks similar to yours, as it is a big block car too.
  10. I like what you are doing with that '60 Nomad Wagon. I have an original built-up, that I will restore one of these days. I'm leaning towards a Factory Stock, or mild Low-Rider build in Black with a white spear, and a red/white interior, All the chrome, and spinner wheel covers (Factory Stock)or wire-wheels (Low Rider). I may combine it with the Revell '60, and AMT '59 El Camino to get a more accurate looking build.
  11. I like that. I have to get back to my '64 Impala project. One of these days.
  12. Beautiful!
  13. Welcome to the board. By the way, beautiful Camaro.
  14. Go get em Izzy! I'm not into the classics, but that one is breathtaking!
  15. A couple of years ago, I bought a built up 1969 MPC Impala SS427 Hardtop. It looks as if it was a second time around restoration, as it was cleanly built as a Replica Stock car, but it was not my cup of tea as built. I successfully stripped all of the paint from the body this morning, and now I have to work on the interior tub. I built an 1969 AMT Impala SS 427 Hardtop (which is the superior body) the way I wanted it, and it came out pretty good. I used the chassis, interior floor, and drivetrain from AMT's excellent '67 Impala SS427. I plan to do the same thing with this one, but with a twist, and that's where your opinion comes in. I plan to do one of the following to this one: 1. SS427 Convertible with the correct rear quarter panels, trunk lid, inner side panels. I am going to utilize a lot of the parts from the Revell 1965 Impala Convertible kit, and the big block engine, automatic transmission, console/shifter, steering wheel, and Rally Wheels from the AMT '70 Monte Carlo SS. The "Strato" bucket seats will be modified to be correct. 2. Bel Air or Biscayne 2 door post sedan, with the roof and trunk lid correctly modified, utilizing either the AMT'67 Impala SS427 or Revell '65 Impala Super Sport parts. I have a set of articles on the '69 Chevy post sedans, as well as a set of photos of the real thing. I also have a correct set of '69 Dog Dish hubcaps for the car. What is your opinion???
  16. Tres magnifique, mon ami.
  17. Make sure that you gey the '64 up 8-lugs from the Modelhaus, as the '63 8 Lugs in the kit are wrong. Also, the '63 Bonneville did not have a tri-tone interior in stock form, for some reason I can't explain. I hava a convertible that I am going to do in White, with a blue interior. A friend of my father's had that combo. It was a stunning car.
  18. How about a K code 289/4-speed from the AMT '67 Mustang??? Presonally, I want the doggies and steelies to do a '64 Galaxie 500 R code car, using an AMT '64 and a AMT '60 for the chassis and running gear.
  19. No Toledo for me this year. I have been ill for the past 2 months, and my finances won't let me unless I sell a lot of models.
  20. I decided to make this one a curbside, since I have so many projects in the pipeline.
  21. Beautiful job, as usual Randy.
  22. You have that one lookin' good so far. I have one on my to-do list later on in the year.
  23. I haven't decided on the color yet, but it won't be blue.
  24. I like your '60 Bob.
