Matt, here locally, ( Richmond Virginia ) I have personally fought long and hard as to a decent class break down concerning cars . Is especially evident when my FORMER I P M S club was about to host it's first Old Dominion Open back in the l;ate 1980's . Look, this club made no bones about what it stood for at that time , W W II Aircraft ! Meanwhile , Gasoline pump model builders such as myself had no where to go but to N N L's and a paltry few automobile themed events . While the Richmond Virginia chapter has made great strides in automobile judging, they still need to vastly improve upon several other NON -W W II Classes . Hopefully now , they will cause I'm sure my comments will come back upon me as they usually do ! Ed Shaver

Darin, uh have you thought of visiting a boat repair shop ? This time of year, boaters are generally doing this sort of thing if you're in the warmer climates . If you're in the far North, maybe not .I was in this business for awhile doing molds and it's the off season when I did Fiberglass repairs . Ed Shaver

Flooding! Update with Pics.....9/16/11
Eshaver replied to MrObsessive's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I was a part of the Flood in Hurricane Agnes in 1973. I too put everything on the second and third floor of a very old building I was in . The water went PAST the roof . We wern't allowed in for ten days . Even then, there was nothing to salvage . Thats where I lost my collection of models dating from 1959-1970. They vanished out down the James River . Ed Shaver -

Sam, I'm old enough to remember such Fairs . Sometime in the future , Check out Field Day of the Past . It's just such an exhibition of steam industrial engines , road building machinery, antique tractors , and music . I think you can Google Field Day of the past for dates and lodging . Very nice diorama ! Ed Shaver

Collectable Automobile has done a great article on the 46-8 Ford Sportsman Convertibles in their October 2011 issue . I know the Revell kit is a Coupe . Still, it gives excellent references to doing a rare and desirable car............. Ed Shaver
