Tire sidewall markings
Eshaver replied to imatt88's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
What about going to a shop where they sell H O train sized dry transfer letters ? I think Woodland scenes still has Franklin Gothic , (Like what was pictured on the decal sheet ) in Black, Gold ,Red and White . Ed Shaver -
If I were working a "regular job " , something I haven't had since 2000, I would be like you. I'm disabled , and as such I work part time and very irregular hours at jobs , well projects now . I'll shoot a coat of paint , I'll maybe put something in clamps to allow glue to set . During that time , I might make a comment or two. Ed Shaver

Does anybody know what year this truck is?
Eshaver replied to '08SEAL's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
What ya have is a 53-5 Ford truck cab with a "Modified " 56 Ford F-100 grille. One way to be able to tell a 56 Ford hoodis to see at the top as there were two reininforcing rivetts added as the bracework was strenthened in 56. Now you can put a 56 on any of the cabs also. The hinges were slightly different as the front posts were modified in 56 for a different windshield . I have also seen Ford dealers add the reinforceing rivetts to a Ford hood along with the underhood bracing as that was a weak area during the run. I have also been told that the Chicago assembly Ford plant added them as part of the origional run, however I have no proof to back it up. I own such a Ford truck as mine was run off the Chicago plant in Febuary of 1953. Ed Shaver -

70-72 Cutlass Supreme Hardtop
Eshaver replied to 66belair's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Both Charlie and David are correct on the wheelbase debacle . Making a Hardtop out of a Convertable while doable is difficult as the Quarter panels were two distintly different stampings . Ed Shaver -

Alan, it's been years since I saw one of these old Plasticville stations assembled . Great to see a childhood memory come back to life . Its amazing to see just how detailed these pieces were in relation to most other offerings in the era that this kit was origionally manufactured . Ed Shaver

This project has dogged me for four years . Finding what the building origionally looked like was tough enouugh . Finding things related to Crown oil was , near impossible too. Meanwhile , George 53 contributed a couple of kits , Disabled Modeler sent tools and some accessories he didn't need . I cut and re- cut and re glued , only to find a detail wasn't right . With a week to the Old Dominion Open in Richmond Va , I present to you , Twin Chimneys : This diorama will show what the place should have looked like in 1965. Built in 1957 it still resides in Highland Springs Virginia just outside of Richmond as a Real estate office Ed Shaver

Chuck, origionally, M P C called that E-300 the "Ironsidevan " as Raymond Burr , police detective along with his pair of super sluths solved crimes in San Francisco. I had that van as I owned a couple of E-300 LWB Fords over the years . Yes , I agree, the details on it are downright fabulous ............... Ed Shaver

Why no 1968 Camaro kits?
Eshaver replied to Rob Hawkins's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Gee, wasn't it just yesterday when everyone was a crying for a 67 Camaro? Finially, A M T did a so so rehash of the 68 they had . I wish they had also re-poped the Hide away headlight grille as they had back in 1967-8, but I guess theres a few casters out there ......... Ed Shaver -
Junior , I think yer referring to me . Thanks for sharing it . Ed Shaver
