  1. Very nice to have the pics back. That was very frustrating. I had decided a while back that I would not use Photobucket again, as long as I could help it. But if they are under a new management team that is trying to make things right...
  2. Oh, I`ve built a couple over the years. Let me know if you need more "inspiration."
  3. Thanks for posting these! I have to get at least one of this kit. I really like the decal options, and am really impressed to see we have real Trans Am lettering not spaced out all over the sheet. The only thing I wish they would have included would be the turbo parts from the Trophy Series version...and maybe the lights. But this is great, none the less.
  4. So I am making a two piece mold to cast tires. I placed the tire in modeling clay and created the bottom mold. I then I removed the clay and created the top mold. But I guess I didn`t use enough mold release or something, and now the top part and bottom part of the mold are stuck together in spots it appears. Is there a way to break these parts apart nicely without cutting? I was debating using the freezer method that breaks apart glued styrene, but thought I would see if anyone here has any thoughts. Thanks.
  5. That looks great! Is that really Testors spray enamel black from the can? Or did you shoot it through an airbrush?
  6. Thanks guys.
  7. Thanks guys! One caution for anyone thinking about getting the IROC kit. Lots, and I mean LOTS of changes needed to be made to make it correct.
  8. Any other thoughts guys?
  9. It`s actually the tires I am looking for. I already have the wheels. The tires need to be about 1 and 1/8" to 1 and 3/16" (28.575mm to 30.1625mm) inner diameter, and 1 and 5/8" (41.275mm) outside diameter, and about .75" (19.05mm) wide. I think just about any type will do, as long as they fit.
  10. Thanks guys. Karl, unfortunately almost all of the Jada die casts have what appear to be 20" or above tires with very little sidewall. The 1:1 car has 18" wheels with about 4" of sidewall. Any other ideas?
  11. I know this is a long shot, but I am looking for a set of tires for my latest project in 1/16 scale. They need to be about 1 and 1/8" to 1 and 3/16" (28.575mm to 30.1625mm) inner diameter, and 1 and 5/8" (41.275mm) outside diameter, and about .75" (19.05mm) wide. I am thinking there might be something close in RC or die casts, Any suggestions?
  12. I just had some parts printed from Shapeways in their "Frosted Extreme Detail" material. Do any of you guys have experience trying to make a mold from a part made from this stuff? It is only 3.5mm thick, and I have heard that this stuff can be brittle. So I am worried about losing it in the mold and shattering into pieces trying to get it out. Lately I havent been using mold release. But I have used baby powder in the past, and am thinking of using that again. Thoughts?
  13. Whoaaa!! I am in trouble. I will be buying multiples of this one! Some observations: First, I am *very* surprised to see full Trans Am lettering. I was not expecting that at all. I am building the old Trophy Series Turbo Firebird, and all of the letters to spell "Trans Am" are scattered throughout the decal sheet. I guess as long as "Trans Am" isn`t on the box art, they dont have to worry about licensing for the name? The springs for the working front suspension are still there, which is interesting. The snow flake wheels and the tires appear unchanged compared to the Trophy Series kit, which is good IMO. The tail light panel is not correct, just like the old kit. I am really loving the decal options in 3 colors!!!
  14. Whoa. This is great! And with confirmation from Revell that the front end has been addressed??! Very great! Hopefully they will really nail it with the front end. It will be a nice kit if so. It would be nice if they would update those shallow wheels too.
  15. All are great, but I especially like that GTA! Nice work!
  16. Thanks! Yeah, the dark red one is the 1/8 kit, and the bright red is the 1/16 scale kit. If you decide to build the 1/16 kit, there are alot of issues with it. I have a thread on it here somewhere....
  17. Thanks! That is one of my favorite kit, and was the one that started it all for me back in `83. I remember getting it for $4.99 at Kaybee.
  18. Whoaaaaa! Very nice!
  19. Fbody meet.... Ok, you asked for it! That`s it for 1st and 2nd gen. 3rd and 4th gen coming.
  20. Very, very nice collection! Thanks so much for sharing and starting this thread!
  21. Not sure if some of you remember the write up on that kit in the "other" magazine back in `94 I believe. Supposedly there is a second generation Camaro kit on the inside? The kit instructions (which were apparently a joke as much as the box art) included a Japanese section for "good will."
  22. Thanks again everyone! Kelson: Thanks for posting that picture. Now that I see that, I do remember seeing it sitting on the shelves a loooong time ago, probably when it was new. I`d like to find one of those. I can see most of it was carried over to the Iroc, at least body wise.
  23. Has anyone seen this one yet? It was in their September video, but I am not seeing it anywhere.
