  1. I was around when that was a current model. Recall it also came out at the same time as the Maverick which I believe took over the Falcon's place in the lineup. I figure its as much a Falcon as an electric SUV can be a Mustang. Ford has had a long history of messing with nameplates. The aforementioned Mustang being one. Also my first vehicle handed down by my dad was a '65 Ford window van that was also tagged with a "Falcon" nameplate from the factory. Recall the Ford Taurus was redesignated the "Ford 500" for no discernible reason and then magically returned to Taurus. Likely because everyone knew what a Taurus was but 500 held no name recognition at all unless you recall the even older Galaxie 500. AND note the current Ford Maverick which has nothing in common with a 2 or 4 door economy car.
  2. You could fudge a bit with this one, up until the 2024/2025 year model. The photo just above your post illustrates those years with the double throttle body intakes. I'm loving the power those intakes provide. And I'll be buying at least 2 kits even if they are snappers.
  3. I had just the opposite experience. In my Jr High School model club I was the rebel who was building airplanes and tanks. All the cool kids were building cars, circa 1965-66. OTOH, I walked away with the airplane model awards.
  4. You say that like its a bad thing. 😎
  5. I'll definitely be getting the Mustang for.....reasons. (check my signature). I do notice a lack of "5.0" emblems on the front fenders and wonder if they might be on the chrome tree. Am hoping they do a full detail kit as the 5.0 Coyote is such a integral part of the vehicle.
  6. Explain like I'm a 5 year old: is this kit any better than the Revell/Monogram GT350 (I've got several of those)? Different year model, better molding etc? Do I need it, like I need another Mustang kit?
  7. I'd have found that hard to believe but I once talked to an old police officer from a smaller town in Northern California (Petaluma). He mentioned that once (1971 or 72) the police department got a new patrol car with a Plymouth front end and the remainder was Dodge. He speculated that it was the end of that year's production run and they wanted to use up leftover parts.
  8. Wow, a set brought $85K at an auction last year. The rich DO live interesting lives, far more than I. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/wheels-34/
  9. Pt Reyes Station is a great place for car watching, especially on a weekend. Saw this a couple of years back about a block away from your photo location. Not a garage queen, had "The Club" on the steering wheel and the dash board was comprehensively weatherchecked. But what would a resto cost for a Gullwing?
  10. Will see what HL is like. They are massively remodeling a defunct Penny's store in my town and it will be the first HL within 100+ miles. Not a substitute for a brick-and-mortar hobby shop but better than the 70 mile drive I have to make now to get just paint/glue etc.
  11. I'm going to come down on the side of it being a full size pickup that had the bed swapped with one from a much smaller pickup. Either way it looks odd.
  12. Likewise: 1966 Chaparral 2E 1969 Ferrari 312P coupe 1970/71 Porsche 917 LH (three-Hippy, Martini, & Gulf) 1971 Ferrari 512M 1955 Jaguar D-type long nose (actually Dragon Model) 1968 Mclaren 6B Penske And when I think of the times I had the Cunningham C5R and the Chaparral 2F in the cart and didn't pull the trigger.....
