  1. looks great but erm...thats not a 383, thats some silly SBC it would be sweet to see it with a mopar big block in it thought
  2. love the weathering on this build specially the undercarriage (any change this will be displayed upside down?) my only suggestion (other then the panel lines we discussed earlier) is the rear wheels its hard to tell from the pics but i would expect the rear wheels to be deeper then the front (i mean, why else run 2 different rims?) specially with the shacles, it seems very likely that he was running deeper rear rims to support wider tires i would look into that and try to find a wider set it would definatly go with the feel of the car (i may even have a set i could trade off myself if your so inclined)
  3. depends on it , will this be a work horse or a queentrailer (pun intended) if its a workhorse, go ahead and paint it if you want it too look good, like it was build as a labour of love, i would stain it
  4. how do you keep the glue residue from the rest of the model ?
  5. it would look great on a smart car chassis, make it into a mini truck
  6. its just too bad places like netflix only carry the junk like friends but not the great classics like becker
  7. wasnt there a longroof firebird at one point ?
  8. linda is cool ever seen the episode where santa comes in on Christmass eve complaining of pains in his side while he's waiting for the doctor to see him he dies so linda and becker are talking about it and she's looking for a word to describe it becker says "ironic" linda say's, not thats not it, its on the tip of my tongue and it turns out the word she's looking for is oockie
  9. i like the old MPC kits 53 parts of whick 40 were optional engine hop up parts and steel axles very simple, basic kits but the feeling was just right only real gripe i have with non-asian kit manufactures is they cast the rims with the lip on the tree, instead of the back which will be hidden in the tire anyway
  10. Rob, so far all i recognized is the aftermarket grille/headlight combo from the 53 ford pick'm'up...are you sure you followed the directions? i had a few minutes to build this morning so i started the trunk ill post pics later but i dont think it looks too bad for a first try...maybe a bit oversimplified but decent enough
  11. lol, i was just watching an episode of becker where one of his patients tried to pay him with beach boys ticket he reffered to them as california raisins and then said "when the ramp to the stage is no longer for the equitment its time to call it quits" lol i love that show
  12. no visible progress yet cap'an but we did run across a burned out chevelle on a scouting mission it looks like it hit a mine or something that blew the bottom end of the motor out we were able to scavenge the blower and mount it onto galloper (keep your eyes peeled for a missmatched hood with firedamage )
  13. looks pretty cool i might do that to the same kit mine has the dirtbikes but i hate seeing them on trailers (seems redundant to pull a trailer behind a pick-up) so i swapped the bed with a ford unit that is big enough to accomodate BOTH bikes
  14. i think i saw part 2 of it once i remember seeing several cars i had seen models off the name "tommy Ivo" comes to mind
  15. not sure what i would recomend i never give my panels lines much attention, because yes, they are dark in real life but they are only a few MM wide, scale that down and there isnt much left if you were to take the panels lines as they appear on this car and scale them back out they would be 2 inches wide? i liked the way they looked on the charger, so maybe a darker shade of yellow instead of black ? just thinking out loud here, panel lines is one of those things you can ask 10 different people and you'd get 10 different awnsers the real point though is that in general im impressed with your build and whats even more, i like them this is just one small area where i think you could improve in making it more to my liking
  16. there are several kits out there with more then one complete engine several of the revell fords and my favorite, the modified stockers 53 ford nhauler
  17. great kits but they may be overwhelming to the novice builder
  18. looks great, i especially like the upward curve of the rear end, looks like you studied the subject well before building it is it all plastic or were some body panels replaced with pie tins to get the dents to looks so good ?
  19. that looks menacing very nice and the rims fit it nicely too
  20. the paint looks great but IMHO you overdid the panel lines, they look cartoonish i dont remember seeing this on your previous build, is this a new technique you're trying out ?
  21. it would look good sitting a little lower but keep in mind that you want to still be able to steer, dont drop the body so far the wheels cant move within the wheelwells so far....looking good almost needs a superbird wing
  22. what about the older MPC kits ? if simplicity is a key factor then those are a good starting point plus...they use steel axles which makes they so much easier to hike up the rear end, all you need to do is drill the holes in different spots if you want to stick with revell though, how do you feel about the 70s chevelle 3n1 ? it is still a very simple kit and goes together well it has been around for ages though, so there is always a change you get one that needs some massaging
  23. thanks Dirk enjoy it while it lasts because it wont stay nice looking for long
  24. Top looks fine to me When I need to ad a vinyl top I use regular old painters tape Overlap it on the top where the seams are and paint it black...all set
  25. when the outbreak first spread we weren't thinking about fighting of the zombie hordes there were rumors of the wastelands up north being to hot for these halflings to handle so we decided to head out there johnnie had an old chevelle him and his boy were rebuilding into a drag car poor johhnie, he bought us enough time to drop the 350 from the farmtruck into the chevelle (the 454 was being rebuild) but he paid for it dearly we met a small caravan just outside of town and all headed north together while traveling towards the desert we scavenged some parts from other vehicles and best of all, we managed to convert the 350 to run on propane, methane or any other semi combustable gas this leaves us much less dependant on gasoline and has allowed us to keep ahead of the hordes alas, the rumors of safety were not true at first, they would stay away during the day but as time progressed they got more daring, or maybe desperate or maybe they just lost whatever feelings they may have had left, and they were closing in fast at any rate, we had to get out of there so one morning , as the sun broke above the mountains we made a break for it the chevelle made it through and i saw a few other scatter towards the north that was 4 days and 3 nights ago on the evening of the 4th day we spotted lights at the horizon, like 2 strings of pearls stung out through the night we waited untill morning and we couldnt believe what we found...survivors and not just one or two, but a whole caravan, one we would like to join pending general Eyegore's aproval, i give you the newest member of the caravan...galloper (named after the generals horse) keep in mind, this is an escape vehicle, short of some small arms we dont have much to defend ourselves, other then our speed (would make a great scout vehicle for the caravan though)
