  1. not to throw religion into the mix but here is something ive allways wondered, i like that the hobby lobby operates on Christian principals, one of which is them honouring the western version of the sabath by not being open on sundays but here is what i dont get...howcome i always get thier emailed advertisement on sundays?
  2. to me it all depends on the build the choice between airbrush and rattle can is the same as the choice between cragars or steelies, which one fits this build best? i can do a good job with a rattle can and i can do a better job with an airbrush but lests be honoust, not every build "requires" a airbrush paintjob
  3. yeah, if i could get them to blink too fast id be halfway there, but they just dont blink at all i can run them on if i leave the flasher out of the system or leave the flasher installed and they dont come on at all i was hoping someone could give me an idea on a resistor or some type of electrical doohicky that would work as a flasher, interupt the flow of current to make them flash
  4. i tried that Mike, the headlight went way to dim and so did the tail i tried running LEDs for the front and taillights but they just didnt last with the vibrations of a dirtbike im not 100% sure if the headlight is a AC specific bulb but i AM sure its a filament type bulb and the system is AC
  5. thanks for the replies guys Adam, i actually tried a set-up with a rectifier which turned the system into a DC system but because of the way it works it pretty much cut my power output in half and im allready taxing the system with a head and tail light as it is John, i tried the electronic flasher aswell, it doesnt work on AC. im running LEDs on all 4 corners, so that shouldnt be the problem and the bike is a 96 kawasaki KDX
  6. thanks for all the info guys the entire turn signal set-up is aftermarket and pieced together...not sure what the numbers on anything is i think i tried a "no-load" flasher but it didnt work on my AC system
  7. hey guys i know very little about electronics and i thought someone on here might be able to help me with this i have a street legal bike with a less then adaqaute electrical system the stator only puts out about 35 watts of AC power by the time i run a head and taillight there isnt much left for accesories i added LED turnsignals but none of the conventional flasher work on them i can flick the switch and they turn on but i can not get them to flash is there a simple way to make them flash? its a 12 volt AC system thanks guys
  8. best/worst part of it is that the guy who bought it after hollywood was done with it only paid 18K for it

  11. never been a fan of lowriders so i wont be joining this as a matter of fact, ive only build one and i thought i'd show it here
  12. well, since it a custom junker, heres the idea, what if the car was wrecked and they started rebuilding it and this is where the custom comes in ? the front end was wrecked so it got replaced, but they could only find a grille from a 68 maybe they could only find a set of fenders from a superbee ? you get the idea
  13. no problem, your secret is safe with me
  14. me and barney
  15. 9) if you drop a part of which you have multiple duplicates in the parts box you will find it right away but if you drop a part of which you have only ONE the carpet monster will eat it up and it will be gone forever

that body would make a great paddleboat aswell (and probably just as fast)
  17. 3) superglue will never fall onto a part of the body that is NOT painted 4) a knife that is not sharp enough to remove a little bit flash from a part will be just sharp enough to slice through the skin of a finger untill it hits bone
  18. lol, i betya they dont call it "snail-mail" there V8 powered ?
  19. glad to hear that Phil let me guess, a 50some ford hotrod in bridgebusters livery? ooh, something like that just HAS to have an allison V12 in it
  20. since you brung it up, did you ever make the model of his bomber ?
  21. i cant believe you would build a general lee like that it is highly unaccurate i'd hate to be the one to critisize your build but when you make a general Lee IT HAS TO HAVE A REAR BUMPER and you thought i was going to mention the doors didnt you
  22. nah, im good best of my knowledge everything is worked out the closest i got to getting in trouble was ignoring a subpoena to come to court because of some...shall we say...moving violations well, if im telling the story i may as well tell the whole story i was working for a company that made metal siding for buildings and my employer asked me to go to a building site and deliver some product we made now, the way it works over there, you need a special license to drive a vehicle with a trailers over certain weights and what not the trailer we had was a dual axle and that in itself qaulified it for a special license...which i didnt have so i headed of on my merry little way and once i got onto the highway (i believe it was the A325 towards nijmegen) i got pulled over by the highway patrol he was very kind and gave me permission to drive another 3/4 mile to the next rest area but once i got there i had to pull over, stop and call someone with a vaild license to pick up the van and trailer and take it from there well, everything is still dandy but on my way to the rest area i get pulled over by a different cop and this one is less forgiving he went over the trailer and van with a finetooth comb but couldnt find anything wrong with it other then the driver (me) not having the proper paperwork so he wrote me a citation but because of the severity of the offense a judge had to set the height of the fine. this required a special court date for which i would get a subpoena. well, by the time the subpoena arrived i had allready booked my next filght to the US and the court date fell within the dates of my trip so i never showed up when i got the subpoena i told my employer (the one who origenally gave me the order to take the van and trailer out in the first place) he said not to worry about it the whole thing was his fault he said and he would take care of it i took his word for it that he went to the courtdate on my behalf and paid whatever the fine was and to this day i have never heard another word about it
  23. Jim, looking back at it its not my proudest moment and i am sure i wouldnt do the same thing now but it does make for a good story indeed (i just hope none of my local law enforcement personal read it)
  24. no doubt, when i traveled over to the US for the first time everyone kept telling me "be respectfull to the cops because before you know it they'll put 5 warning shots in the back of your head" im sure thats a little bit of an excegoration but it stands without a doubt that law enforcement around here demands respect where the police i grew up with is childish in comparission...they dont even ride around with less then 2 officers per squad car because they dont demand respect
  25. since we are on the topic of expired offences...did i ever mention the citation i got for assaulting an officer? (stick with me guys, this is a great story) i was 17 years old, living in the Netherlands (gotta make sure i stay out of jurisdiction in case some of our bronze members dont like the story right ) and it was winter now, at this time my only means of transportation was an ever changing stable of "street legal" dirtbikes each of thes bikes started out as mopeds, less then 50 CC with a limited power output and a topspeed of 22-25 MPH (not to go into a culture lesson here but in the Netherlands you can get a permit for a moped at 16 but you cant get a driverslicense untill your 18 so these mopeds is like a rite of passage) each and every one of my bike was heavily modified, big bore kits, bigger carberators, better exhaust pipes and i even had one bike that had the engine replace with a german market liquid cooled 80CC engine anywho...every cop in the Netherlands is always on the look out for these mopeds that perform better then they should so, im 17, and its the middle of winter i was on my way to school (Technisch lyceum Eindhoven for what its worth) on my bike im pretty sure it was a suzuki TSX with a 70CC kit on it but im not 100% sure i made a left hand turn and hear a sirene behind me. i look back and see a police officer on a honda transalp XL650. at this age i often ran from the cops on my bikes because i had speed, agility, offroad capability and just the right balls-to-brains ratio but the sight of a cop on THAT bike was enough to get me on the shoulder within seconds, i had found out the hard way it is almost impossible to outrun a cop on that bike, and with us being in the city, there was no where to go, so i pulled over on the shoulder. and get off my bike i put it on the kickstand and watch closely to make sure it doesnt tip over, the shoulder is grass, covered in snow and quite mucky this time off year but the bike stands and the cop pulls in right behind me i take my helmet off and he asks if i know why i got pulled over being smart enough not to incriminate myself i awnser : nope well, he asys, you didnt signal when you entered that left hand turn i pointed out my bike is of the off road variaty and doesnt HAVE indicators to which he replies i should use handsignals great idea, i say, any suggestions on how to use the clutch when im waving ? at this point he turns his attention to the bike, tells me to fire it up so i do and i rev it a few times being a motorcycle cop i have no doubt he used to dabble with mopeds just like i did and he recognized the free revving power of the bike as being more then permitted and so he asks me, how fast does it go? 25 i say nonsense he says, i can tell this bike is faster then that i asked him if he had seen me go faster than that and he had to denie ever witnessing it so i tell him im late for classes and i would like to get going he says, sure go, but if i catch you speeding you will get a citation for it, AND ill give you one for not signalling i put my helmet back on and get on the bike, being a little snot nosed punk i figured i'd pop a wheelie on my way out but i didnt take into consideration the mucky terrain, so when i let of the clutch the bike just sat there for a few seconds, roostertailing snow and mud all over the cop and his bike he tracked me down real quick and gave me a ticket for assaulting an officer AND one for not signaling kinda funny, looking back at it, im glad to report, i have matured quite a bit in the decade since that incident (Hugh, im sure that cop never forgot my name either)
