  1. i use the same reasoning to swerve through all lanes of traffic...i mean, i pay taxes for all of em dont i ?
  2. the builds or the daugthers?
  3. thats cool mine is very supportive i bounce ideas off her and have her help me decide on rims or colours she doesnt really build herself but with her working 80 hours a week (on a good week) i cant blame her this is her on the hood (you know, like the whitesnake video)
  4. have you considered building a 1/16th scale kit ? some of those come with plug wires
  5. i dont know Bart...the way i see it, if it is a complete kit (regardless if its a vehicle or a parts pack) it is not in the partsbox im stricktly talking about the partsbox build, not the ratrod case 'n point, if i were to use the left over 426 hemi from my 68 charger i would be within the rules of the build on the other hand, if i were to use a 427 cammer partspack engine then i would NOT be within the limitations of the build because its a new kit maybe we should mention that in our introduction to the build because it will effect the way i will judge the entree
  6. that has got to be one of the sweetest camaros ive ever seen after you questioned my previous post i checked my records and i actually built the AMT 78 kit and bought this one for my nephew who build it...incident free i might add so that was my bad, nothing but good about this kit
  7. A very popular way to "unload" these is selling them in groups of 4 or5 this will help keep shipping down and if you put one hard to find kit in with three common ones you wont get stuck with a bunch of undesirable kits Being a mopar man myself I wouldn't mind buying several mopar kits (of the lesser pedigree) for maybe 5-8 dollars a piece That's a low price but keep in mind im talking about the common kits here Feel free to shoot me a private message if you feel inclined to set a deal up with me
  8. (edited for accuracy) I bought this kit for my 12 year old nephew a while ago and he build it without any incidents...it was only his 3rd or 4th kit
  9. nah, you misunderstood me look at the post i quoted, half of it is in the zame font as your using now... but when you get to my name its the regular font...like im second rate or something :'( just poking some fun at it is all
  10. cool i like this kit a word of advise though, when you go to apply the hood decal cut the center out first you would expect it to be precut but it is not and it will not lay flat over the hoodlouvers heres one i build a year or so ago
  11. not to mention the chevy aveo the wifey had a few years back, IT WAS MADE IN KOREA thruth be told, i knew that when i bought it and i was hoping it would be a higher qaulity then the US build chevies alas, it was just as poor maybe im spoiler with the german cars im used to but blowing the stock timing belt at 65K miles and sending 13 of the 16 valves into the pistons seems a bit sub-par
  12. hey, howcome i dont get a red font and big letters? are we grading on a curve ?
  13. got a little bit of work done today managed to ad a front "spoiler" and i scratchbuild a pushbar i also started the new liftgate not sure yet if i will hing this or not here are some pics, let me know what you think
  14. i know ive seen a model of this kit though it may have been a 67 with the photoetch applied to make it look like the 68 my boy has a 1/25 diecast of the 68...maisto i believe
  15. shoot, i guess ill have to dust her back off again then a few specifics, its a 34 ford frame with a 392 desoto firedome hemi WITH optional hilborn inject and the body ? not sure on the year but it was a dodge of some sort viper i believe
  16. looks like yer chugging along allright here is a paint suggestion for you (i wanna say its called sunburst yellow) i picked up a can of it at wallyworld for 3.50 or so (was a huge can too) anyway, i thought the paint looked like what you need, here it is over grey primer
  17. the old saying comes to mind "id rahter be pushing a dodge then driving a toyota"
  18. i wont be building this (have only one rat rod and it is about halfway build so i supose its not allowed?) so i volunteer to judge i shall be fair, but ruthless oh, here is my ratrod as it sits
  19. i was going to post that scrapple is nothing compare the the balkenbrij i grew up on (basically anything that isnt good enough to be put in a hotdog mixed with flour and baked into a loaf, then panfried and eaten on toast) but a quick google search has shown me that scrapple is just what you americans call balkenbrij [/rant]
  20. iether that or the sandbags in the trunk as used in the FnF4 movie
  21. looks good to me there are a few little places left with room for improvement but so do my builds as a mather of fact, the first engine i wired looked like it had radiator hoses for plugwires its good you not afraid to try new things and im sure your models will only keep on getting better my only advise would be not to be afraid to ask for advise as you go along
  22. i took drivers ed in early 2000 and "my" car (believe it was a toyota corrola) had an extra brake pedal aswell as an extra clutch on the passenger side of course, i grew up in a country where you actually had to know how to operate a car and not just steer in as a mather of fact, unless you were handicapped takeing drivers ed in a car with an automatic tranny was out of the question and even then it would be listed as a restriction on your license
  23. ya done good i like it between you and me though, how about a nice wash on those rims? i think that would look even better then it allready does
