looks nice i really like the shine on it and on a side note....it reminds me of the paint job on mine
-
i think he must run something big in there not to need side or rear view mirrors
-
looks much better did you make sure everything still fits, frame, radiator support and all
-
you're not going to beleiive this...but i had a 94 mirage at one point with the exact same treatment to the front bumper as you did to the rear i ran it for several months untill i jumped a railroad crossing and ripped it clean off on my way down back to the model, it looks great, i love the engine, the detail is cool, with the oilfiter relocation and the intake it has the wheels look absolutely rediculous BUT spot on for the 1:1 trend that this car represent great looking model overall and it catches the feel of the real one
-
let me know if you ever want to unload one of those...i think its my favorite mustang this porsche looks great as mentioned before, the detail allready look great and i think with the newer wheels it will look great

2012 POST APOCALYPSE/ZOMBIE HUNTER COMMUNITY BUILD
diymirage replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in Community Builds
it always surprised me toyota never offered a 50call as an option on thier pick-ups...you cant tunr on the TV or there is some clan in a middle eastern country trying to gain power or his entire army consists of these trucks with 50call cobbled onto the bed toyota should make a TV comercial about that "the chevy trucks may have survived the end of the world but it was caused by several people trying to kill each other driving toyotas" -
this thing looks great something tells me this isnt the first model you build...dabbled a little when you were little did ya? you know, i dont think i've ever taken the time to mention this before...but seeing how you were in the 101st, i think we all owe you a big thanks for all you did on our behalf you and all other personal of the armed forces thanks

how would this do you ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-CHEVY-CAMARO-SS-/251000368749?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a70c9ae6d -
i was wondering why this wasnt in the general area
-
looks great and its nice to see the panel underneath the headlights painted (often overlooked) looks good on those wheels too BUT i wouldnt mind seeing the front come down just a hair
-
on a side note dodge did come up with a tribute to this iconic colour back in '10 they made a limited edition furious fuchsia challenger just saying
-
my daily driver is a 200 HP turbo charged 2.0 liter with a 6 speed manual transmission behind it (05 VW passat) in my winter beater i have a 3.5 liter V6 with a automatic AWD tranny (08 charger)
-
sounds like your picking up fast but keep in mind when test fitting things like roll pans that at some point they will need to wrap around the chassis to be honoust, i have cuda kit im working on where i took the liberty to do all the body work and just flex the chassis to fit inside of it...but thats a judgement call, i wouldnt recommend it
-
im gonna be honoust with you, i have no idea what that means (well, i know what the bastogne in france is and the famous storming of it in bla-bla-bla) i remember being a little kid, 12 years old maybe and learning about operation market garden...but that took place 500 miles from the bastogne glad you managed to fix those little marks on the spoiler its little bits like that that really make or break a model
-
actually that is the SECOND funniest line in the movie the funniest line is "im yer sister....im yer sister" though my personal favorite is "how does the positrac rear end of a plymouth work? it just does" back on the model, looks great i have one im working on myself
-
love it same issues i always have with these kits (rear roll pan) that cant be fixed without plenty of prep work AND knowledge of the kit before you build it one question though, in the first picture it almost looks like the body needs to drop down another few MM onto the chassis to sit properly ?
-
looks great sure, its an old kit, but still one of my favorites and it does look great in that colour kudos on the decals, very nice job cutting the doors out now, this is what i dont get..the decals show a good eye for detail BUT the spoiler and the louvers still show where it was attached to the sprue when you painted it i expect to see that addressed on your next build on a side note, looking at your screen name, do the words "market garden" mean anything to you ?
-
looks like your off to a good start there buddy and so glad to see your sticking with mopars the only real issue ive ever had with this model is the rear roll pan as a mather of fact, i am building a 73 model and i have glued in the pan and bondo-ed it before painting now i have to twist the chassis to get it in but after 4 cudas i learned my lesson
-
thats great i have a 12 year old nepew i occasionally build models with i'd love to see how she does on a full size car maybe a 68 dodge?
-
not the wheels from the 500 i HATE those wheels, i swear, more model kits have been issued with those wheels then with front seats i am so sick of those tell you what, ill trade you a set of nice rims for the turbines included in the general just shoot me a PM if you are interested at any rate, looking forward to this build you know, its amazing, you'd think every general lee you see would be the same but i dont think i have ever seen 2 of the same

My Hobby Room Renovation
diymirage replied to BOSWELL891's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
wow, i didnt know harry potter build models seriously though, this is cool me and the misses are looking at buying a new house and im fixing on finishing off a part of the utlity room (only unfinished room in the house) and making it into a mancave -
you know, getting things like the front end to fit nicely is a real trick on some models the way i usually go about it is to ask the question "what can i glue to the body while still being able to put the frame in?" specially rear roll pans are often hit or miss when it comes to being able to put the frame in in this particular case i would have glued the front clip to the body and applied some bondo and smoothed the whole thing out before painting it now, there are plenty of models i build that make me say "man, i should have done this or that" but i wanna say i get better with each model, and so will you
