here are a few shots of what my entry will be the base will be the datsun from this kit the kit comes with a 350 which i will save in case i ever build a model boat (it will make a great anchor) the pick-up will instead be powered by this 440 from the partsbox (i may replace the oilpan with a non-plated unit to make it fit this build better) the other thing im thinking of is using these wheel from a jeep instead of the kit rim the rims in the kit look like some sort of turbine rims (which i like) but they arent chromed so if i have anything else that needs to be allcladded ill hit those up aswell, otherwise ill use these and finally a shot of the bare plastic (some of it)
-
found the engine and rim pics still havent decided on the rims fully yet the kit comes with some nice turbine like rollers but they are not chromed im thinking if there are any other parts that need to be allcladded i will use those rims if there arent ill use the jeep rims

thought i'd share a shot of the kit i'll be building (on second thought it is not a nissan, its a datsun, oh well, po-teh-to po-ta-to) here is a shot of the kit the truck came from (wont be building the bikes anytime soon) i had a shot of the rims i got from a jeep kit (will be using the kit tires) aswell as the engine but they seemed to disapeared the kit came with a 350 which i will be saving in case i ever build a boat (would make a great anchor) this truck will actually have a 440 from the partsbox with the 727 tranny (i think)

will this go over a tonue cover or instead of one? because if you want it to go over one it may be as simple as finding someone who could make a decal of it check with grim reaper, i know he's made a few trucks with tonue covers with cool decals on them he must have a good source -
thanks for all the help guys Darin, i have come across several site that advertise jerseys at about that price...what they fail to mention is that they charge 20 dollars for shipping to bring the total to $45 which is still more then the wifey will allow Rob, the NFL site still comes in out of my budget, really the best shot would have been target or something but they are "out of stock" Shane, they controll thier own destiny they need at least one more win (with buffalo up next im not worried) but they may need a second and the chiefs just knocked down the packers in all honousty, with all 4 teams in the AFC west no more then 2 wins apart there is even a statistic possibilty of ANY of the four teams in that league taking the crown and im not sure what wild card chances are for a 8-8 team

allright, ill start the build next time im heading down into the mancave be forewarned thoug, im a slow builder (though not as slow as this truck with that rotten 350 it came with, now worries though, i found a primo 440 to replace it with)

after reviewing my model it is a 70s ish datsun pick'm'up truck im not sure if it was ever sold in the US or not, if someone can tell me ill decide if it qualifies for this build

Do you keep records of your builds?
diymirage replied to Mr. Moparman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
yeah, go to the workbench and change the filter to "topics i started" its all there -
why not? kinda reminiscent of the mopar muscle cars of the 70s in panther pink and moulin rogue as long as the car has the testicular fortitude to pull it off
-
cool, ill look up the exact year and get started on it shortly it is a nissan truck, but since it will be an offroad vehicle i need to check the partsbox for a good motor because the 350 thats in it wont do the trick
-
so (and im just shooting from the hip here) lets say i build a baracuda (ANY cuda for that mather) would i be able to use putty to make the front and rear panels fit nicely ?
-
so im wondering...im planning on building a nissan truckskie for a different build anyway...would that qaulify ?
-
what about those kits (older then myself) where the instructions call for the use of putty? would putty be allowed in this class ? what about paint? most kits do not come with paint

and "very cool" in this setting translates to a white Christmass, just like the ones i used to know

not very edumacated on the darts so here is what i have to toss in the mix there are 71 dusters readily available aswell as the elusive 75 duster "street" machine iether one of those may be massaged into a 73 dart? on the bright side, the 75 duster allready comes with a dodge grille
