  1. Thanks again guys.
  2. Thanks guys. Glad you like.
  3. Thanks muchly for the nice comments folks. They are all appreciated.
  4. This is built from the Amt 41 Woody kit. Not bad, decent detail but the fit could have been better. I set this car around the early 60's. I guy moving West (or something like that). Thanks for looking.
  5. Ya I wanted it to have that look but with paint not primer.
  6. Thanks guys. Ya I think it boils down to what looks right alot of the time. Just for fun here is a picture of a chair I made that has dimensions slightly larger than the 1:1 chair (with a different back). Funny thing is, the smaller chair looks better in this pic than the above one. Go figure. Maybe because it is a little more close up? Anyway, I think they both work for this scale. They just look like different sized chairs. What do you think?
  7. Thanks guys.
  8. Thanks for that Jim. Looks like I was pretty close. It could be that the chair is good but just appears off. Sometimes I think you have to bs a bit to make things look right in smaller scales. I had even wondered before if the Woody was off on scale. I know someone here once placed a few different manufacturers 57 Chevy bodies together and they were all different. My idea was to put some chairs (along with other cargo) on the roof of the Woody. I can honestly tell you that when I sit the chair on the roof of my Woody it looks like a dinky little thing. But maybe that is true to life. Maybe it will look better along with other stuff piled on the roof. Thanks to everyone who gave their thoughts. It seems that the 1mm=1inch does work in scratchbuilding for the most part.
  9. I think it may have been a bad Alclad job.
  10. Thas neat. You don't see those everyday. Of course, I'm thinking what a cool Gasser that would make.lol
  11. Thanks again for all the great comments guys. They keep me going. Ya, sorry but I did paint over the first one. And I actually did put a Hemi in it. I thought about selling it and I wanted to save the Wedge for another project. Don't worry lots more weathering projects to come. I'll do another subtle one just for you Cranky. And that nice little Wedge is sitting in my parts box awaiting another build.
  12. No I used watered down white glue and some acrylic medium. Joker, I thought a base would be good for this. Maybe when I have the time I'll do that. It would look better that way sitting on a shelf or desk in this case I think. Lunajammer, thanks, but I get bored of the usual. I think it is a little more interesting this way. I've seen lots of beater cars. But I've never seen a pile of dirt on one. Thanks again folks.
  13. Thanks for all your opinions and charts guys. Math was never my strong point. The chair has legs 16 inches long. My little guy has legs 14mm long. The back of the chair is 32 inches high from the floor. My scale chair is 31mm. The width of the front of the chair is 15.5 inches wide, and mine is 15mm. So I am off a tad, probably from sanding. I wouldn't think that little bit would make that much differnce. I did a rocking chair before this chair and that appeared small as well. Although it looks a little bit better than this chair. I actually took the 1:1 chair out and sat it beside my car. It actually looks small beside my car as well. So maybe I'm not that far off. It does come up higher to my door handle, but I'm not driving a Woody either. I am in the process of making a chair slightly bigger in mm than inches of the 1:1. It could be that this one "appears" more in scale. In starting this thread I was mostly interested in weather 1mm=1 inch is a good rule of thumb. It would appear that most of us is comfortable with this. I will have to look more at all the supplied charts.
  14. I thought of doing that. The chair really does look smaller in real life. Any other opinions?
  15. Thanks muchly Dave and Ron. Ya, this kit can be used in alot of ways. I still have a couple that will likely end up as period Gassers. Hard to believe these cars actually started out as a stock everyday driver. Now it is hard to see them as anything but a drag or custom.
  16. Thanks for the nice comments guys. No it isn't dung. Dried, used coffee to be exact.
  17. Good one Nitro Neil. Thanks for your comments guys. Here is a pic. Even though the chair looks a bit bigger in this photo, don't ya think it still looks a tad small? It is the chair I actually model in.
  18. Just having some fun. Thanks for looking.
  19. I've always had the understanding that 1mm in 1/25 scale equals 1 inch in real life. Lately I have been building some chairs for a 1/25 build and they look more like kids chairs next to my Woody. I took measurements from chairs in my house and converted them from inches to mm. Anybody know why they appear too small? Thanks
  20. Thanks guys, never thought I'd see this popping up again. I actually wasn't 100% happy with it so I repainted it while back. I have since had some more practice weathering and will do another weathered drag car in the future. Thanks for bringing this up again.
  21. Very nicely done. The engine is sharp. I dig the red steelies.
  22. Thanks for your replies guys. I got an email this morning from him saying the items were shipped. I wasn't concerned about when they arrived. I was concerned he got my money and order. Most other companies I've bought from send a confirmation of order or something letting you know the item was shipped yada yada... I was just a little concerned when I made my order with payment and hadn't heard anything at all. I knew there would be a handful of you here familiar with RB Motion.
  23. I was just wondering if anybody knew if anything was going on with RB Motion? I placed an order with him for the first time around the end of Dec. and didn't get any email back confirming the order, shipping or anything. I sent two emails and din't get anything back. I hope my money didn't go down the drain. Anybody have any information? Thanks
  24. This is cool. Make sure you get the stance right. Very important. How does this thing sit at rest? The pic shows it up in the front but that is porbably because the front end doesn't want to stay on the ground.LOL
