  1. Great job! this is the kind of work that gives people inspiration to go a little further in their detailing and scratchbuilding. And I also think that the Challenger body style lends itself better to Trans Am racing than any other form of racing. Thanks for sharing all this.
  2. Those photos look like they were from drag racing. I wonder if there are some where it raced at Boneville and partly covered with salt? Your doing the clean version like your opening photos I take it? Either way, it's a real nice car.
  3. This is certaily a neat subject. At first I thought that was a contemporary car seeing how it was soo clean and pretty. The fact that it has history going back to 50' and 60's really makes it for me. You have great reference photos, any period photos of thing nice and dirty?
  4. Thanks again for the nice comments everyone. I didn't take a picture of the interior because my camera was away getting fixed at the time of building this truck. I can try now but it may not come out as the side windows are in place.
  5. I have to say, that's a lovely set of headers you have there. And I don't say that to everyone either.
  6. Thanks for all the compliments guys, I appreciate it. Sorry for the small pics..I reloaded them but they came out the same. I did this before in the past and for some reason it took a day or so to straighten itself out. In the meantime , here are a few more.
  7. This is a build I picture as a sixty something work in progress/shop truck kinda thingy. Weathered inside and out. Thanks for looking.
  8. Happy Canada Day to all you Canadian type folks. Great day on the east coast.
  9. I loooove the wheels.
  10. Thats right Terry Jessee, I remember seeing that now. I've never bought resin kits before because they are too pricey for me. Sometimes the aftermarket companies will sell a body for a decent price , but if you have to go by the donor kit, well it still works out to be a bit of money. If money is not an issue, I must say I've seen some pretty cool and uncommon resin 4drs, wagons etc.
  11. Your freind has a good idea there.
  12. There are tons of wagons and four doors I'd like to see. Most any 50's GM, 60's too. Too many to list. Top of my list would be an early 60's Pontiac Tempest wagon. A few others might be a 4 dr 57 Chevy, 62 Impala wagon, early 60's Mopar wagon, etc. etc. the list could get pretty long.
  13. This really is done well. The weathering is spot on. According to the inside of the doors I wouldn't call this a vintage ride but rather a contemporary rat type thing. anyway. Great build!
  14. Thanks again guys. Cars like this definately existed, you just didn't see them in the magazines. Weasel, excuse me if I'm being daft but I'm not sure what you mean by "handshacker".??
  15. Thanks guys. I actually got inspiration from a 1:1 car in Rod and Kulture mag. The only real difference is that mine has two carbs instead of one and the one in the mag is blue with clear glass. I really liked the Wedge motor idea. I can see some of these motors hanging around as left over Super Stock motors.
  16. Finally finished this one. This Willys represents a car that would have been raced in the early sixties, then got passed through a few hands while sitting around. Then in the late sixties someone got a hold of an x S/S 426 Wedge motor and went racing again. Hope you like.
  17. Looks good so far. I love these early Mopars. I have a few myself I'm looking forward to building.
  18. Thanks man, thats a nice compliment. My main interest is capture "the look" of these vintage drag cars.
  19. Thanks alot guys. Glad it looks the part. I've seen quite a few old black and white period photos of cars like this. Yes I did use the salt technique. Twice actually. Once for the rust and once for the different shade of blue. Terribly easy to do.
  20. This is looking good so far. Should be a real looker according to your plans.
  21. Here is a curbside I made out of Amt's 40 Ford. It represents a mid 50's Altered, made on the cheap at an auto salvage yard. Hope you like.
  22. This is a nice choice to build. Pleasing body style, nice grill and a sexy engine. Always fun to watch your WIPs.
  23. Thanks guys. I'm glad you appreciate the work I put into this as well as the aesthetic choices. Building a model is similar to doing a painting for me in some rspects.
  24. Thanks Robert. Look forward to seeing your 34 Ford PU. Altereds are alot of fun. Specially these early bare bones critters.
  25. A 26 sedan body on a 29 frame. Modelhaus slicks, 56 Nomad reare end and a Nailhead. Everything else is pretty much scratchbuilt. Hope you like.
