  1. Gotta love the Ramchargers cars. Red, White and Mopar. Looks good though for having issues with decals. Don't that just makes you mad, the money you spend on decals and then have them go to pieces. Where did you get the intake from? Resin body, from who? The red on the real cars were Candy Red, have you ever seen correct color decals for any Ramchargers cars? I have yet to, just wondering if you had.
  2. Just received my latest issue of Mopar Collectors Guide and found this. This is awesome. Will have to make a model of one of these. They will building street and strip cars in a contiuation series along side the Mr Norms Cuda and Challengers. Can't wait to see one in person.
  3. Has anybody else seen this? Looks like alot of great autos will be out there for auction. Everything from Little Red Wagon, Jungle JIm 68 Funny car Nova, Ed Roth Road Agent, Mysterion, Boot Hill Express, Vintage Drag Race Cars, Hot Rods etc. They have a catalog that looks like great reference for modelers, bit pricy though. They do have a digital catalog in the lower right corner. Could spend hours looking thru it. Great stuff here. http://www.rmauctions.com/Default-RW.cfm?SaleCode=RW09
  4. Wasn't sure where to really post this but I figured this was as good a place as any. I just recieved a book about the history of the Ramchargers. Very nice, well put together hardback book. Lots of unpulished pictures and plenty of good reference for models. You can pick one up at http://books.sae.org/book-r-384 for $39.95 plus s&h. If you are a dodge, plymouth or vintage drag racing fan you will want one of these.
  5. Just FYI, if you are interested in Toyota pick ups, check here http://www.modelexpress.net/cgi-bin/modele...f=sku/to=x.html Half way down the page there are a couple of Toyota's listed on sale. Not sure how much of a sale but they are there. Great people to deal with as well. Enjoy and half fun with your monster truck build.
  6. Like I refered to earlier, I got my 61 body and decals from Model Car World. I also got the 62 Impala body and decals from him. All of his decals come with reference pictures. Good clean bodies and decals. Great gentleman to deal with as well. Ihave purchased many bodies, decals and paints from him over the past 5 or so years. If you haven't gotten on then you need to get the Super Stock: Drag Racing the Family Sedan by Larry Davis. Great book and great reference pics all be it that many of them are black and white but it does have a few color pics. I got mine when they first came out and have taken it to many shows and gotten autographs from the legends that are covered in it. Car Tech Books has a downloadable verison but I didn't see the hardcover verison on there website.
  7. Wasn't quite sure but I thought the '61 was the first but, you never know. I do have the stuff to build some other Dave Strickler cars as well. I have for the '64 and '65 Dodges, the '68 and '69 Camaros.
  8. For anybody that would be interested, I seen one on Ebay. 8'-0" fleetside bed and chassis. Just type in resin dodge and it will come up. Auction ends on September 6, 2009.
  9. I don't ever recall seeing a '60 Old Reliable. Do you have a pic? I have a '62 Impala that has red Old Reliable lettering that I need to finish. I have a '63 that was built years ago but has yellowed and needs to be rebuilt.
  10. I second everyones opinion. Awesome. Gotta love these new Challengers in blue.
  11. Update . . . One coat of primer nd it doesn't look to bad. What do you think? I am using Tesots Lacquer White Primer since I am unsure about color yet.
  12. For those who like Sub Lime Green, how about a 2009 Challenger in Sub Lime Green. Seen this at Carlisle as well but found this pic on the net.
  13. Any progress? I love what you are doing here. I wasn't a fan with the 4 dorr Charger but, it has grown on me. Was close to purchasing the B5 Blue Charger Superbee because I loved the color but waited for Challenger in B5 Blue.
  14. It looks reder in the pictures than it really is. I used Testors Lacquer Hondorus Maroon spray can. Beatiful color.
  15. I believe it was the enamel that I airburshed (?). Don't recall 100% since it has been a little while.
  16. Here are a couple of the Dave Strickler Old Reliable Chevys that I build a couple of years ago. The 61 is a resin body and decals are from Model Car World. The 62 is the AMT model built with Model Car World decals.
  17. 57 Bel Air painted HOK Candy Apple Red with two tone tan interior. This was the first time using the HOK paint that Wal-Mart had for a while. I am pleased with it. Wasn't sure what wheels to use so I dug out a set of Keystone Classics. This has been build for about 3 years now.
  18. Here are a couple of pictures of the Revell 1949 Mercury that I build shortly after it came out. Colors are HOK Pearl White and Testors Plum Crazy.
  19. Steal away. I too have seen them in magazines but, I have also seen in person. That Mr. Norm is awesome. He sold / modified Mopar back in the 60's and still doing it today. Not sure if anybody else is doing the same conversation or not though. I have also seen some convertible Challengers as well. This was all seen at this years Chrysler at Carlisle. Great show. Mr. Norm also had a silver 2009 Cuda Coupe there.
  20. Thanks Clay never was sure how do post directly. I have modified this post.
  21. Caine440 - I have a coat of Squadron white putty and then a top coat of automotive red spot glazing to fill any left over voids Zuk - I found the picture on the internet after seeing the real car at Carlisle. Go to www.mrnormsgarage.com for pics of orange one or www.lincah.com/2009-mr-norms-426-hemi-challenger-and-426-hemi-cuda-convertibles/2009-mr-norms-426-hemi-cuda-convertible-rear-side-view for the yellow one. Olarge1 - Have been looking at the fender gills but have tackled that yet. And as far as getting a real one, I have a 2009 Challenger R/T Classic in B5 blue. Love it. Gets alot of attention. I have built a model of it as well. Here it is.
  22. Here is one that I have been messing around the past few evenings modifying. I am taking a Revell 2009 Challenger and the grille and tailights from the Revell 1971 Cuda and making a 2009 Plymouth Cuda. I had seen a real one the Mr Norms of the famed Grand Spaulding Dodge had up at the Chrysler at Carlisle show this year. His was a convertible but, I myslef don't care much for convertibles so I will leave this one as a coupe. I cut the stock Chally hood scoop out and replaced it it with sheet plastic and I will cut a hole for the shaker scoop once I get the hood squared away and looking good. I cut the stock Chally grille and headlight surrounds out and replaced them with the '71 Cuda grille and moved the headlight surrounds back behind the face of the grille. If i left them where they were the grille would have protruded out beyond the top of the bumper cover (header panel). I have replaced the Chally tailights with the pieces from the Cuda as well. I took the body out the wood shed and used a wood file, to make it go easrier, and straightened out the body lie down the side. So far the body has been thick enough that I have not went through yet, although it is getting a little thin. Finally a picture of the inspiration. What do you all think? Not sure about colors yet?
  23. Any updates / progress? Have been thinking about doing this myself but want to see how you are coming with yours.
  24. That is a great looking model of a car that you just see much of. Looks awesome.
  25. Okay quite the list. I will go and look at you thread for the build. Looks like I have my work cutout for me. Good winter project i guess.
