  1. Heres one that I use for factory colors. http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorlibrary/aclchip.aspx?image=1946-chevrolet-pg01.jpg It has a second page that breaks down the the different years. 41, 42, and 46.
  2. Here is a picture from yorkus30.com website. They have a great show every week after the 4th of July. They had the restored car there last year and here is the pic from the show. It was actually a pearl yellow, pearl white fade.
  3. Has anybody purchased any of the reissue MPC Zingers yet? I remember my father having the Vette but don't recall the others. I am interested in the Dodges though.
  4. I know of who Caine440 is talking about. These decals where originally done by Decals by Gooche. I believe I got mine from Special Appearance Decals but, they are no longer registered on Ebay, I believe. Sorry about that guys. Just have to keep an eye out I guess. By the way Caine440, looks good. Keep it up.
  5. Has any else seen this? Revell has partnered with the NHRa to reissue some of its vintage drag racing models. More to come according to article. http://www.nhra.com/story/2009/10/22/revel...ring-nhra-logo/
  6. I am not 100% sure but Dave at Model Car World has the correct decals for this car since the Fred Cady decals are brown. If you purchase the decals from Model Car World he has a copy of reference pics and a little description for the 2 cars - Hard top and Sedan. He states the closest match is the Corvette Bronze from 1968. I have yet to spray mine but that will be what I use. Dave seems to be up on his vintage drag cars so.
  7. Here are a few w.i.p. of my 32 Fords that I have been messing around with. First the 3 window coupe was sprayed with Tamiya Sky Blue Anodized Aluminum then cleared with Testors Lacquer Clear. Hand painted wide whites with Torq mags. Blue interior Second the 5 window coupe was sprayed with a mixture of Testors Copper and Boyd Orange Pearl then cleared with Testors Lacquer clear. I love this clear. Have been successful spraying it over lacquer, automotive lacquer, Tamiya paints and Testors enamels. The interior id Dupli-color Wimbelton White with Rust carpet. The steel wheels was painted with same color as the interior. I used the early hemi as well. What do you all think?
  8. It actually comes with a resin interior tub but a little rough so I will be modifing the Chevelle tub to fit. You will need to use the seats and dsah from the Chevelle. The resin also comes with it own chassis. I reality you really only use the hood, dash, seat, engine, suspension, windshield, wheels and tires from the Chevelle. Here is a picture of what you get with the resin kit.
  9. Here is a another build I just started late last week. It is a resin 1970 El Camino from Jimmy Flintstone. Will be built using the AMT 1970 Chevelle kit. I have cleaned the body of flash, fitted the AMT 1970 Chevelle grille and bumper (fits better than the resin pieces, I know the turn signals are different from Chevelle to El Camino). Have Chevelle windshield fitted as well. Will make rear window. Mocked up wheels and tires, needs to set just a little higher for my taste. Wheels are from Monogram 78 or 79 Camaro. I am thinking Testors Lacquer Fathom Green with white hood stripes. Interior color? Been thinking Parchment but may go black.
  10. Looks awesome. I built a 66 Nova sedan a few years ago using the resin body from everyones fravorite A/FX N Scale but have recently ordered a couple of the Nova sedans from Bandit Resin and they are much nicer and more acurate than the other body. I did mine as a street car though instead of gasser but it looks awesome as a gasser. Great job. Here's a pic of mine. The roof is shorter and the recess area in the trunk is not present on the A/FX N Scale where as on the Bandit REsin body the roof is taller and the recess panel is there in the trunk.
  11. Looks good. I have gotten sidetracked with some other builds. I am still not sure what color I want to paint mine yet, want something bright. Was thinking about Testors Aluma yellow pearl but not sure.
  12. How about this one? I have plans to build one like this.
  13. Gotta love the Ramchargers cars. Red, White and Mopar. Looks good though for having issues with decals. Don't that just makes you mad, the money you spend on decals and then have them go to pieces. Where did you get the intake from? Resin body, from who? The red on the real cars were Candy Red, have you ever seen correct color decals for any Ramchargers cars? I have yet to, just wondering if you had.
  14. Just received my latest issue of Mopar Collectors Guide and found this. This is awesome. Will have to make a model of one of these. They will building street and strip cars in a contiuation series along side the Mr Norms Cuda and Challengers. Can't wait to see one in person.
  15. Has anybody else seen this? Looks like alot of great autos will be out there for auction. Everything from Little Red Wagon, Jungle JIm 68 Funny car Nova, Ed Roth Road Agent, Mysterion, Boot Hill Express, Vintage Drag Race Cars, Hot Rods etc. They have a catalog that looks like great reference for modelers, bit pricy though. They do have a digital catalog in the lower right corner. Could spend hours looking thru it. Great stuff here. http://www.rmauctions.com/Default-RW.cfm?SaleCode=RW09
  16. Wasn't sure where to really post this but I figured this was as good a place as any. I just recieved a book about the history of the Ramchargers. Very nice, well put together hardback book. Lots of unpulished pictures and plenty of good reference for models. You can pick one up at http://books.sae.org/book-r-384 for $39.95 plus s&h. If you are a dodge, plymouth or vintage drag racing fan you will want one of these.
  17. Just FYI, if you are interested in Toyota pick ups, check here http://www.modelexpress.net/cgi-bin/modele...f=sku/to=x.html Half way down the page there are a couple of Toyota's listed on sale. Not sure how much of a sale but they are there. Great people to deal with as well. Enjoy and half fun with your monster truck build.
  18. Like I refered to earlier, I got my 61 body and decals from Model Car World. I also got the 62 Impala body and decals from him. All of his decals come with reference pictures. Good clean bodies and decals. Great gentleman to deal with as well. Ihave purchased many bodies, decals and paints from him over the past 5 or so years. If you haven't gotten on then you need to get the Super Stock: Drag Racing the Family Sedan by Larry Davis. Great book and great reference pics all be it that many of them are black and white but it does have a few color pics. I got mine when they first came out and have taken it to many shows and gotten autographs from the legends that are covered in it. Car Tech Books has a downloadable verison but I didn't see the hardcover verison on there website.
  19. Wasn't quite sure but I thought the '61 was the first but, you never know. I do have the stuff to build some other Dave Strickler cars as well. I have for the '64 and '65 Dodges, the '68 and '69 Camaros.
  20. For anybody that would be interested, I seen one on Ebay. 8'-0" fleetside bed and chassis. Just type in resin dodge and it will come up. Auction ends on September 6, 2009.
  21. I don't ever recall seeing a '60 Old Reliable. Do you have a pic? I have a '62 Impala that has red Old Reliable lettering that I need to finish. I have a '63 that was built years ago but has yellowed and needs to be rebuilt.
  22. I second everyones opinion. Awesome. Gotta love these new Challengers in blue.
  23. Update . . . One coat of primer nd it doesn't look to bad. What do you think? I am using Tesots Lacquer White Primer since I am unsure about color yet.
  24. For those who like Sub Lime Green, how about a 2009 Challenger in Sub Lime Green. Seen this at Carlisle as well but found this pic on the net.
  25. Any progress? I love what you are doing here. I wasn't a fan with the 4 dorr Charger but, it has grown on me. Was close to purchasing the B5 Blue Charger Superbee because I loved the color but waited for Challenger in B5 Blue.
