I am in the process of moving so I am trying to gather reference material for the modeling subject in the meantime. I am looking for reference pictures for the Pro Stock Dakota that Ronnie Sox and Buddy Martin campaigned. I have a few but looking for engine and chassis shots. I have the Comp Resin Dakota body and the Model King Oldsmobile Pro Stock kit as a donor but have been thinking about scratchbuilding the chassis myself since the wheelbase is 3/4" off. Here are the pictures I have. Any help would be appreciated. Progress will be slow with having a 5 month old to take care of.

Atlanta 92 was a dark day in Nascar. The King's last race and Boy Wonder's first. Huge Petty fan, never a Gordon fan but nice looking build you got there.

Thats a nice looking model makes me want to get going on mine but need to find the time with a 4 month old daughter. Not much time. I just picked up a 1960 Impala for a donor for the chassis.

I have the Fred Cady decal set #481. These are for the 1966 Nova Sappington Saunders Giant Killer and for the Dana Chevrolet Nova. I need help in finding out any info/pictures of these 2 cars. I have looked in the past but have come up empty handed. Would anybody out there have any info to help out?

I was wondering if anybody knew where I could get conversion parts for the re-released 1/16 General Kit? I wish to make a Charger Daytona stock car out of it since it is not a to replica from the series.

Got my resin body off evilbay and it only came with bare resin bumpers so I placed an order with Modelhaus. Chrome bumpers look great. Also got there interior tub, pretty shallow but then again it seems all the older interiors were shallow in the model kits. Got the decals as well off evilbay. Just need to get the time to work on it, hard to find time with a 2 month old to take care of.

Looking for pictures of Hemi Dart that Fast Eddie Schartman drove. I have Slixx decals but would like to have some reference pics and just haven't been able to find much on car.

Just received a newsletter from Model Roundup that claims that Trumpeter will be bringing out a 1964 Ford Falcon Sprint Hardtop. Can be built stock or customized with optional engie options and wheels. Has anybody else heard anything about this? They say it is in test shot review right now so they claim 6-9 months for it to hit shelves. Here is the box top.

I am looking for reference pictures for the 1959 Oldsmobile that Lee Petty drove to the 1959 Daytona 500 victory. I have found the picture of it in the Petty musuem but would like to have reference of the engine and interior. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Mr Obsessive, hope you don't mind but I was following this WIP and it inspired me to get a resin '64 Cutlass and have been working on it since. Here is what I have so far. Started with a Bandit Resins kit and AMT '66 Cutlass and went to town on it.

I have one of these in the works as well. I loved the tv show and have started to purchase it on dvd. There was an episode where the bad guy fixed the brakes on the dart and mannix popped the hood to check the brakes and the inner fenders were red, must have been a red dart barris started with. I do not recall the engine color though. Jason S

Thanks Dave. There were 2 cars built by the Petty's. The first was wrecked killing an 8 yr old boy in Texas (?) so the Petty's had to build another one to fullfill contracts with the drag strips.

Last night I was watching the new CMT Films Petty Blue DVD that they just release. It got me to thinking about the Barracuda that Richard Petty drove in 65 when Nascar banned the Hemi eninge in the intermediate cars. I dug out my resin kit from Model Car World and am thinking about starting this as my next project. Would anybody have any reference pics of this car? I have been looking for more pics, I have a few but, would love to have more. I have seen were some recreated this special car but from what I can tell, it is not 100% accurate.
