  1. Yeah all I did was ask a questions because my search really didn't come up with anything and this is what I get. Thank you for thise you commented with helpful information.
  2. Looks awesome. Great job Scott. You can be proud of all 4 Petty cars you have built.
  3. Thanks guys. I was thinking black due to sun glare but wasn't sure. I know that dash will be black and the chassis and cage will be Petty Blue. I assume the suspension will be the darker blue, engineering blue?
  4. I have just recieved a resin 1986 Pontiac 2+2 Stock car body and decals for a richard Petty stock car. I am looking for some reference pics of the area within the rear glass. Need to know if it would be a package shelf that was painted black or blue to match chassis or just how they closed the truck off from the interior. Anybody have any idea or pictures of this area? Here is a pic of the car I am looking at replicating.
  5. Awesome I got 2 of the stock models coming my way soon and I will be getting a couple of the Nascar kits as well. Great time to be a model builder. Always like the 300 series cars.
  6. What did they use a paint roller to paint it? You weren't kidding about the paint. Purple pond will do wonders for it. Looking forward to seeing this build of a car you don't see much of.
  7. So sorry to hear about your loss. It doesn't matter if he had anything to do with your modeling it just takes something out of everyone when we lose somebody near and dear to us. We are all here for you. Dart has been looking great though. I have one to build someday as well. Keep up the great work, looking forward to seeing this completed.
  8. Why are Tamyia Paints so hard to get in this country? I know they come from Japan but most model kits come from overseas as well and we haven't had a hard time with getting them. Any insight fellow members?
  9. Here's a link to the story about the black top roof car. http://richardpettyf...play&thread=840 Ane the story about the white roof car. http://richardpettyfans.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=judith&action=display&thread=841
  10. For those wondering about the number on the roof, here is a picture I found on the Richard Petty Fan forum. Never seen a picture of this car until recently when doing research for my own Petty Model collection that I want to start. By the way Scott, love your builds and will be following this one as well.
  11. Heres another Ebay score that I recievec this week. I got 2 Richard Petty 1971 Roadrunner builts that I will strip and rebuild. They are missing a few pieces and a few are broken but it's a cheaper way then to pay the price for unbuilts. The nice thing is that the bodies are not painted, they were left in the blue that they were molded in. The other one does have the red painted on it for the STP colors but I will strip it.
  12. Love the color Doc. Looks great. Awesome job. Glossy is the way to go.
  13. Thank you guys for the kind words. Want to try and finish up this weekend and I will snag my wife's camera and snap some pics of it and maybe they will turn out better than the ones with my phone.
  14. Motorcycle looks awesome John. What's gonna be next? A suggestion, the motorcycle out of the movie Ghost Rider? With you skills, I believe you could pull it off. Anyway this build like all your others looks great. Thanks for sharing.
  15. Yes it will. Have started to work on it a little and it appears as if the wheelbase is perfect from the AMT GTX/Roadrunner to the Johan Superbird. Width is great as well. Need to do a little more before posting any pics.
  16. Roger, I don't know where Jack got his from but Speed City Resin has them available. See link below. http://speedcityresin.com/MoparPage.htm
  17. Just about completed.
  18. Looks great. I have one of these in pile to build as well.
  19. Pick up an AMT 69 Plymouth GTX last night for a good donor chassis. The Johan kit chassis has everything molded to it, exhaust, rear axle and springs and the front suspension as well. I was looking for omething that has a little more detail hence the AMT chassis. Will build the rollcage directily on the chassis as well.
  20. Anybody have any updates?
  21. Got some more accomplished on my Hornet this past week. Got engine just about finished. Had to do a mock you to what it will like, now all I want to do is complete it.
  22. Looks like I will be needed to dig through my pile of unbuilt kits to find an AMT Roadrunner or GTX for a donor chassis. This is my latest score off of Ebay. Never had one before and I am thrilled to have it now. It did come with the wrong decals (I believe they are from the 64 Petty Plymouth kit not this one) but, thats ok as the decals probaly wouldn't be any good anyways. It apears that a few parts may be missing but, once again thats ok since the parts I am interested in are there. Can't wait til I get time to build it (if only I could talk my wife into taking care of our daughter for a few weeks by herself, ha ha).
  23. Found this while looking for somemore reference pics for the model I am building. Beautiful car. All other pics show a gold engine but they restored this one with a red engine, Any ideas as to why they may do this? This guys was on Spped Channel with Dream Car Garage and I loved to watch that show but, sadily it apeears if it is gone off of Speed with all there Nascar ###### now. Lots of other beautiful cars on there website as well for references. http://www.legendarymotorcar.com/site/276
  24. Looks awesome man. Nice job. Was it alot of work to get that chassis to fit the Dodge body? I have one of these and never really knew what to do with it, now you gave me an idea. I have a couple sets of the Slixx decals already.
