  1. You've got me thinking about pulling out my various Petty models to work on. Great job so far. Loved the '64 and these '69's. Just a suggestion. when I do my plug wires, I drill the distributor first, cut wire and glue them into the distributor cap first leaving them stick straight up. Glue the cap to the engine and then when glue dries on everything, I cut and bend to place in head of valve cover in the case of Hemi's or Ford's 429. You might want to try this way sometime. Works for me but may not work for someone else. Good luck finishing these great looking models. I will be watching.
  2. Love the colors. Great looking vehicle.
  3. Has anybody ever made a 1967 Falcon resin or kit before? I know that AMT did the 69 Falcon.
  4. Wow. Thats looks amazing. A real eye catcher for the shelves of the hobby shops. Well done.
  5. Challenger is mine Camaro is my brothers. When people go by they stop to look. Thanks for asking.
  6. Nice looking model but that green doesn't quite look bright enough to me. My brother's Camaro is alot brighter looking than that. Could it just be lighting? Never have used ScaleFinishes paint before but right now the color looks off if that is to be Synergy Green. Here's a pic of my brother 's Camaro.
  7. Got a few minutes this past weekend to work on my Hudson a little. Got some work completed on my interior and chassis.
  8. Heres my 58 Impala I did a couple years ago.
  9. Cool. I'll have to get my order in when I see that they are availible for ordering. Thanks a million. I'm sure it will be a great seller like the Hudson.
  10. Was wondering if anybody had any experience with the ARII Cadillac's? Was thinking about getting one but haven't seen to much on it. Does anybody have any pics?
  11. The Petty Blue special that CMT did has a color clip of this car I believe when they were talking about Lee Petty. It appeared to be a greyish blue. Not sure if anybody could find this clip on the net anywhere to be able to post it here.
  12. Here is the link to Mr Obessive's build of this kit. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=16906&hl=cougar&st=0
  13. How about something totally different and Revell do a spinoff of a 1957 Mercury Then some of us that are into vintage Nascar could build something like this. And since Model King seems to be into Tim Flock with the Hudson and Chrysler 300 they could do the Flock Mercury What do you all think?
  14. Awesome I have this kit to build just don't know what to do with it right now. Yours looks great. Thanks for sharing
  15. Can you point thise of us that don't remember this How to to the direction in which we can find it?
  16. Love it. Looks awesome. Making me want a few for in my stash. Can't wait to be able to get my hands on this kit, stock and nascar stock car. After the HUdson bring on more.
  17. Thank you all for the wonderful comments. I will work on this as time and my 1 year daughter allows. I am looking forward to completing this build. It is such a wonderful kit and I can't wait to see other offerings from Moebius.
  18. I have been trying to work on this Hornet ever since it came out. I started with Tamiya Park Green on the body and Tamiya Racing Green on the Roof. Had a pretty good shine on it so I bare-metaled the trim. That took about 2 days to do off and on. This car has a lot of trim on it. I have yet to polish the body any and it has no clear on it. I think it looks good. Then for the interior I started with Testors Light Earth spray for the darker color and Testors Fabric Tan for the lighter color. Once again I wasn't sure aboutthe colors but I think it looks good. Got the chassis pan spray with Dupli-Color Semi Flat black and the frame sprayed with Testors Black Lacquer that has a semi-gloss shine to it. Has great contrast. Hope to have more completed soon. Just after I sprayed and untaped. Body has Bare-metal applied. Just after I untaped interior.
  19. Thanks guys for the comments. Here it is about 4 days later and my wife's grandfather is still talking bout his model. He loves it and sets and looks at it each day. Guess I will have to find something else to build for him now.
  20. I lucked out this time I just got mine today. Looks great but I need to wait to read it tonight since I have work to do. Looks great though I did thumb through it. And its all one piece too. Thanks guys.
  21. I always get mine about a month after you guys do and the covers are always ripped to pieces. Must be the mailman wanting to read something good?
  22. Got the AMT 1962 Buick Electra 225 for christmas. Have looked at this kit before but never got it. Was wondering if anybody has dealt with replacing the chassis with a more detailed one from another kit? Was thinking about the AMT 1962 Bel Air since I have a few of them in my pile? Haven't had time to dig one out to check it. Any help anyone?
  23. I got this completed just before we had to leave to go see my wife's family on Christmad Day. This was for her grandfather. He keeps talking about the 51 that he had but, since nobody makes a 51 I built him a 53. He was so surprised that I would do this for him. He was all smiles. He loved it. Said he knows it is alot of work and he will cherish it forever. Couldn;t thank me enough. He kept showing it to everybody there. I didn't have much chance to get many pictures of it but I did get a couple.
  24. Got this model finished in time for a christmas gift for my wife's grandfather. Gave it to him on Christmas day, he didn't expect it but he loves it and will cherish it for the rest of his life. Will have pics in the Under Glass pages soon.
  25. I remeber that car. Looks great. NIce job on it
