Love it. Looks awesome. Making me want a few for in my stash. Can't wait to be able to get my hands on this kit, stock and nascar stock car. After the HUdson bring on more. -
Thank you all for the wonderful comments. I will work on this as time and my 1 year daughter allows. I am looking forward to completing this build. It is such a wonderful kit and I can't wait to see other offerings from Moebius.

I have been trying to work on this Hornet ever since it came out. I started with Tamiya Park Green on the body and Tamiya Racing Green on the Roof. Had a pretty good shine on it so I bare-metaled the trim. That took about 2 days to do off and on. This car has a lot of trim on it. I have yet to polish the body any and it has no clear on it. I think it looks good. Then for the interior I started with Testors Light Earth spray for the darker color and Testors Fabric Tan for the lighter color. Once again I wasn't sure aboutthe colors but I think it looks good. Got the chassis pan spray with Dupli-Color Semi Flat black and the frame sprayed with Testors Black Lacquer that has a semi-gloss shine to it. Has great contrast. Hope to have more completed soon. Just after I sprayed and untaped. Body has Bare-metal applied. Just after I untaped interior.

Thanks guys for the comments. Here it is about 4 days later and my wife's grandfather is still talking bout his model. He loves it and sets and looks at it each day. Guess I will have to find something else to build for him now.

I always get mine about a month after you guys do and the covers are always ripped to pieces. Must be the mailman wanting to read something good? -
Got the AMT 1962 Buick Electra 225 for christmas. Have looked at this kit before but never got it. Was wondering if anybody has dealt with replacing the chassis with a more detailed one from another kit? Was thinking about the AMT 1962 Bel Air since I have a few of them in my pile? Haven't had time to dig one out to check it. Any help anyone?

I got this completed just before we had to leave to go see my wife's family on Christmad Day. This was for her grandfather. He keeps talking about the 51 that he had but, since nobody makes a 51 I built him a 53. He was so surprised that I would do this for him. He was all smiles. He loved it. Said he knows it is alot of work and he will cherish it forever. Couldn;t thank me enough. He kept showing it to everybody there. I didn't have much chance to get many pictures of it but I did get a couple.

Got this model finished in time for a christmas gift for my wife's grandfather. Gave it to him on Christmas day, he didn't expect it but he loves it and will cherish it for the rest of his life. Will have pics in the Under Glass pages soon.

Thanks for the comments. Here is a picture of the body polished and bmf. Not the best pic but a pic anyway.

Here is a progress pic of the interior. Used Testors Model Master Leather and Radome Tan for colors. Used brown flocking for carpet. I did this prior to purchasing embossing powder in brown, wanted to use what I had on hand to use it up.

Looking great. Looks like alot of decals there.

Progress on the 53 Ford has been about like Congress, slow. But I do have a little update today. I have the chassis close to being completed. Just some touch up and a few small parts. I primered with Dulpicolor Gray Primer then missed some body color on the edges. Brushed painted Testors Semi-Gloss Black on the frame. Hope to have more soon. Have been working on the interior and engine some as well. Got the body polished and waxed, baremetal too. Will get pic tomorrow of body.

Yeah a nice kit of the Auburn Speedster would be awesome as well. Or even a late 30's Lincoln Zephyr

My question is, "why is the little boy playing with his sisters dolls when he has a cool truck to play with?" -
This is my kind of build. Nice factory looking build. No rust, no low rider bs. Just a beautiful model. I have one but I will be using the 69 chassis, engine for mine. It will also be a super stock drag car. Any great job. Looks awesome. Thank you for sharing.
