  1. I love the GT350R. Great job openeing the doors and trunk.
  2. Thanks guys... I agree, everything looks great in Martini colors and Gulf colors look pretty good too...
  3. Thanks everyone.
  4. Thanks guys. Actually I paint from the can. I normally heat the can slightly with a blow dryer before I spray but the real finish comes from polishing. I use the three grades of Tamiya polish, coarse, fine and finish, to get a decent shine.
  5. Thanks guys... It was built with in a consecutive 24 hour period. Worked on it for 20 hours slept 3 hours and then finished up the last few details and cleanded up my finger prints, etc in the last hour. I think I was attaching the rear wing about 30 seconds after the checkered flag dropped and that was the last part to go on. There's a group of us that get together each year and do this. The front fender tops were molded open like that. It's the Revell kit in 1/25th scale.
  6. Another one just finished this week. Tamiya's Alfa in Martini colors. Built out of the box with Tamiya Pure White and clear, kit decals. The decals laid down very nicely with a little heat. I had a couple decal mistakes on my part and the hood is not a great fit but overall a fun build that looks decent on the shelf. Thanks for looking.
  7. Here's another one recently finished. Aoshima's SL63 AMG. A fun kit that I really enjoyed building. Built out of the box with Tamiya TS-8 Red and cleared. Wheels were painted with Testors metalizer and cleared with Tamiya clear. Thanks for looking.
  8. Here's my build for this years 24 Hour Lemans project. I used 21 of the 24 hours to do the build and finally getting around to posting it. I changed the wheels but otherwise built out of the box. Painted with Tamiya Chrome Yellow and clear and used kit decals. It was a fun kit and I'm looking forward to building one in more detail. Thanks for looking.
  9. Welcome from Dayton, OH. I'm just north of the Wright-Pat AFB and east of Huber.
  10. LOL.... We prefer to call it strategic planning, right Bob? Trae, I see you're from Bristol, TN. I'm from the Bristol/Abingon, VA area also.

    Boss 302

Very nice looking Stang. I like the overall look of it and really like those wheels. Thanks for the link.
  12. Looks cool, Bob. I like the design and the colors. When are you going to modify your real one to look like this?
  13. My local hobby shop had the Tamiya putties and Tamiya liquid cements when I visited them on Sunday. Primers should be arriving soon, hopefully.
  14. Very cool... it looks so realistic. Great job and great photography
  15. Nice bike. I really like the color matched wheels. Nice touch...
  16. I got pretty lucky on the intial paint job with a smooth finish and minimul dust. So I ended up using an old and worn out 3600 cloth on a couple dust specs then a 4000 and 6000 on those same spots. After that it was all three grades (coarse, fine, finish) tamiya rubbing compounds over the entire surface. Last step was Tamiya liquid wax to clean my finger prints off the paint once the build was complete.
  17. Thanks everybody.... Did I ever mention how much I hate polishing out black paint?
  18. That's awesome... Who would have known that a '57 Chevy would have made such a cool flatbed truck? Very creative.
  19. I always enjoy seeing your work regardless of what you build. Beater or beauty, they always look realistic....!
  20. Here's my latest completed model. It's Revell's Corvette ZR1. Built moslty out of the box other than the wheels and tires. Those are Fujimi OZ's. Painted Tamiya ts-14 Black with Tamiya clear then polished. The interior is two-tone red and black. I chose to paint the brake calipers and engine details red instead of the blue that's used on the real car. Anyway, thanks for looking.
  21. Awesome job Chris. The workmanship is great. I'm working on one of these right now as my current project. Doing a black version of the ZR1.
  22. Thanks guys...
  23. Haven't posted anything here in a while and recently got back into building after a year or so off. Thought I would share one of my recent builds. This is Fujimi's Bruno Senna version of the Ferrari F430 Challenge. Built out of the box, the kit went together well. The red, white and black (on the roof of the car) were all masked and painted. I wasn't going to take a chance on the white kit decals being opaque enough to cover the red. Lot's of little things about the kit are inaccurate but the worst part to me is it should have slick racing tires. Easy enough to change if you want to sacrifice the tires from another kit. Makes a nice shelf model.
  24. Fantastic build! I love those old vintage race cars and yours looks the part. Great job, Bob!
  25. I'm officially jealous. Great find Bob, especially on that SWB.
