  1. Just finished up my post sedan. This is a resin body and hood from Drag City Casting. He sells it as a 54 Post sedan but, I converted it back to 53. HOK Brandywine with PPG clear. Wheels and tires are Revell 32 Ford Roadster. This is a curbside so no motor. Stock inter. with a 56 Chevy steering wheel. Thats it. Ready for NNL East ENJOY!
  2. Sweet Lyle. Looking forward to seeing it at NNL east!
  3. OK,OK, I am coming too. Look for the "ARTERAKE" on the table! HaHa. I will bring my hoe too!
  4. your over the edge with this one and you have built too many of these 2 wheel thingys. I am starting to think you are turning into a plastic biker  HaHa just in good fun!
  5. Happy Birthday Model Cars Magazine Forum! You mean the guys who post here actually build model cars in between living on the computer 24/7? (this is just a joke  ) Wow just like the old days! OLD SCHOOL RULES! Hey where is the cake, we must have cake, right? ENJOY! 8)
  6. that's my kind of truck! Love the tuck and roll seat. I need to watch you do the piping I can't get it to work right. Digin' the color tooo!
  7. I am thinking black top and House of Kolor Tangelo Pearl for the body. I am keeping the side spear. I used a Buick motor to be different. I always build Chevy motors. It could be worse I could have put a Ford in it. HaHa
  8. That is just "BAD" I mean GOOD (HaHa) Great job again Tim
  9. I started another project. I bought a resin Brookwood wagon from The Modelhaus. I started to build a 409 but, I thought how about something different for me. Years ago my dads partner in his body shop loved Buicks. No matter what car he had it had a Buick motor, so I will do the same. I took a Ertil/AMT 66 Riviera 425 cubic inch "Nailhead" and placed it in with only a little modifying to the bottom of the automatic pan. Fits like a glove! Here is the stock motor adding a Arrowhead prewired distributer and I scratch built brackets for the alternator and power steering pump. here you can see how I cut the pan so it will fit in the frame @ 1/8" with a razor saw. I also am getting tired of my hoods falling off so I hinged the hood and filled in the cowl and took off the wipers (it doesn't rain on my shelf anyway) I use Key-flo 2 part polyester putty. I am using the wheels and tires from Revell 32 Ford and added the "ARTERAKE" (HAHA) shaved off the door handles, may or may not add them later I also shaved off the tailgate and smoothed off the emblem on the "V" molding (still needs a little cleanup) I am thinking 2 tone paint but, not sure ENJOY!
  10. Sweet Matt, Hey bring my 32 along this year to NNL east and I will bring yours along too!
  11. nice ford, don't see many of those built!
  12. I have been using the PPG paints for quite a while now but, I spray all types of mediums. I only spray the PPG urethane clears at my brothers body shop in the booth with the proper fresh air gear. I do not spray them at home and am undesided if I ever will since my paint booth is in my basement. I am currently designing a new booth so I will see how it goes. The new urethanes are alot less work but, you have to address the health issues with them.

  21. sorry Nick that is a Cuda. The truck is a original AMT 53 Ford pick up. Here are links to more photos of these http://public.fotki.com/IrvinArterJr/irvin...ge_models/cuda/ http://public.fotki.com/IrvinArterJr/irvin...s/1953-pick-up/
  22. This is something different for you guys. I buy here and there a few old build-ups and as a fun build I rebuild them somewhat in a few days. This one I wanted to look like an old hot rod that was not finished but a driver. So I paid 3.00 for this car and then went out and bought the reissue kit to rebuild the old one. (I know, I know doesn’t make any sense) This build up had a certain look to it so I wanted to keep it as close as it was. I used all new chrome and windows from the reissue. Front splash pan, tailgate, hood and painted them with red primer. Wheels and tires are from an old Monogram sprint car and the world famous “ARTERAKEâ€. I added a steering wheel from Revell 59 Impala and foiled most of the body. I totally rebuilt a motor adding a prewired distributor (I love those things!) and an air cleaner from Revell 68 Corvette. It’s not perfect but, I wanted to retain that old look but, finish it in a few days. That’s the fun of this kind of builds. Check out that old Auto World decal! Here are a few others I have done the same to. Try it sometime it’s fun! enjoy!
  23. I got this original AMT 1968 Impala Custom (it’s really a 67) from MJ. It was used and Mike repainted it with Boyds orange pearl before I got it so I left it alone. I foiled it, painted the original custom interior and added aftermarket wheels and brakes. I added a Revell 69 Camaro front spoiler, aluminum exhaust tips, photo etch “SS†on the grill and Impala’s on the rear roof. It is a curbside so no motor. After I shot the photos I realized the rear bumper slipped down so I will have to re epoxy it. Enjoy!
  24. a few years ago Yosemite Sam was invited to Toledo NNL and I talked him into doing a panel for me. We went back to his hotel and he painted it on a desk in his room! This is a rare peice for him since he used 4 colors of paint. I ask him to totaly just paint it with no sugestions from me. He did this in @ 1 hour. He is one of the old guys pinstriping in the 50's around Detroit area
  25. WOW love it! good idea on the carbon
