  1. darn I wish I would have noticed this sooner I would have played along since it'll be a boring weekend for me...
  2. I love my iwata eclipse.. I have a triple action handle on it so it is both a single and double action in one and can be used to pretty much anything..
  3. it doesn't have to be just your parts box you can buy and source other parts as well. I don't really have a parts box either (But I also don't have the money to get anything so I'm using a for sale sign)
  4. this is about where mine is at the moment.. both back doors are covered... I'm really wishing I would have thought harder about my design.. I'm looking for a sketch online that I can use to draw on and think...
  5. IN I'm using the escalade I have
  6. haha thanks! and actually the body was rattle canned.. to be honest I think I could have done a better job air brushing it.. I'm really starting to get the hang of the brush but then it seems to glog on me at the wrong time (I can't wait to get back to work and buy some decent paints)
  7. Well she isn't too pretty.. I see a ton of little things I would like to fix or detail.. but this is IT .. It's done and I'm happy enough with it... I was always too afraid and nit picky about flaws when trying to build and always gave up.. but I knew I'd never get any better or accomplish anything without just building.. so this was a build I decided to finish no matter how it looked.. I used to build the pre-painted kits when I was an early teen (maybe even younger) and I've never painted a model myself.. so don't rag on me too bad about the sloppy lines and screw ups.. I was lowering it a bit and noticed the rear sat a little lower but I like it that way and no side view mirrors because I ruined the body enough trying to glue the dang bumper on LOL
  8. Yeah I just hated the wheels it came with.. the wheels in the ss kit was the best thing I had so I used them car is as done as it's going to get I'm finished with it and posting it up in a few minutes. EDIT- posted http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=52121
  9. that'd make a neat apoc build!
  10. almost done.. this is about as good as it gets.... just need to add the lights and bumper and touch up a few spots and I'll post it under glass...
  11. well I got the rear glass from revell and I finished painting up everything.. interior just going to be plain black.. not really any details.. I'm finishing up the engine and plan to slap it all together tomorrow.. (lol we'll see) it feels goos to be almost done.. I figure the more I do the more I'll slowly try to work on the fine details.. one step at a time I suppose.. I wish I would have painted the chassis the same blue and then did the frame black by hand but oh well..
  12. -goes off to work on my mustang kit- lol welcome back !! Let's get the details a going I'm having a hard time leaving my model alone haha
  13. Yeah thats the way I'm looking at it. this isn't a death race it's the apocalypse so I'm pretending it's a armored vehicle to run down some zombies
  14. someone go rescue Cranky! and yep no guns here either.. just an armored up vehicle
  15. ^^ Shhhhhh! it's not time to start yet lol
  16. Cranky is hiding for the holidays lol.. I'm ready to build I've already cheated and mocked up the vehicle I'm using and started planning armor
  17. new years bump.. get it started it's January now
  18. In random order.. finish my 85 svo mustang kit finish my deathscalade practice enough to where I can actually paint a body decent enough to not be ashamed of. get my model desk built that I've been designing the last couple of weeks stockpile tools and supplies that I need and finish at least 5 models total..
  19. hopefully he will still allow this one to sneak by.. I'm bored and have nothing else to do.. family is home for the holidays so most of my stuff is put up and I was able to get to yhis and a few tools..
  20. ok... I couldn't wait... I went ahead and got my build into a rolling chassis so I could try to imagine what I wanted to build... it will be a curbside hack and build.. won't be pretty.. probably won't turn out half decent.. but at least it's practice on a kit I didn't care for.. I bought a vw bus to use.. I wanted the aoshima lifted 4-runner .. I started to use my aoshima lifted hilux... then I kept staring at this... I picked it up for the deathrace build that fizzled along with my building interests.. so here is it.. stolen pic - like I said it won't be pretty.. I hacked up the inner optional wheels and plastiwelded them to the hilux swampers.. then used drilled out spoon ends (that I used to practice painting) to make the suspension.. it's a lot more even than it looks in the pics.. I'm getting anxious lol..
  21. Craaannkkyyy ?!?!?! Where'd ya go?? Lol it's about time to get the build together so we can start having some real fun.. I have kit ready to go! now hurry before I change my mind... again!
  22. BUMP!!!!!!!!!!! anyone have any ideas for in scale guns? can't seem to find anything other than 1/35 scale
  23. got this bus, triple action kit for my eclipse, this touch-n-flow system idk anything about it.. I kept looking at it everytime I went into hobby lobby.. this time it just.. somehow... ended up in my cart.. also picked up 2 more medium bottles for the airbrush.. was a good day. (note.. the blue and silver handles are like 2mm shorter and leave a large gap when on the airbrush) it sucks because I really like the blue.. oh well..
  24. yeah I think I got the ratio backwards.. last I did it I did (close to) 2 parts paint (walmart acrylic) and 1 part windex and it worked really nice just picked up a triple action kit for it today that I can't wait to play with.. should make painting bodies easier for me so I don't get that itchy finger and go WOT (wide open trigger)
