5 model cars or trucks you wish were made.
B-dub replied to ranma's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
mk3 vw gti vr6 or at least a gti- to build both my vr6 and 2.0 1:1 cars (There is a 4-door golf 16v out saying it's a gti but it isn't. All mk3 gti's are 2-door) mk3 vw jetta - to build my 1:1 car and maybe my junker parts cars.. that'd be fun -
solid would be horrible.. just ask anyone who has ever ran low profile tires.. haha.. my car hates any kind of bump!

B-dub replied to B-dub's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
alright thanks guys I'll be sure to try it soon. and as far as cleaning I have some of that createx airbrush cleaner can I just use that instead of cleaning with windex? also does it need to be windex brand or will glass cleaner work? It's the same blue looking liquid I think it was just purchased at dollar general for cheap. -

I'd like to get premixed paint but no hobby shops close to me and the couple of r/c shops don't carry them.. I suppose I can go talk with them and see if they could stock a few and windex really? That doesn't mess the paint up? also what sort of ratio am I looking at with the water/paint (I know I have to eyeball) but a rough start would help. -
A MOST POST-APOCALYPSE 2012 TO YOU TOO
B-dub replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Count me in for sure!!.. I'm also good at randomly chattering and to help keep the build thread from dying what I end up building may not be too pretty or skilled but I'm all for it! -
yeah I picked up the iwata moisture trap about to set up everything and make sure I have the right fittings to hook it to the compressor, then I guess I'll take our advice and just practice playing with the trigger for awhile.

I can't stand jesse james his bike was just generic.. nothing special at all about it.. Sr. didn't even build a bike.. I mean seriously... a tracked laydown wheelchair with flamethrowers... It is neat.. but didn't even fit in... Not crazy about Jr.s theme choice.. just didn't look that great in bike form with all the flash.. needed some paint but I have to say I like the way he carried the theme through the bike and the build of it.. I have to go with him.

...........seriously.... it's real... it's been answered... this thread is 3 1/2 years old... lock-worthy for sure lol

Model Weight....
B-dub replied to SuperStockAndy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I can't see a 1:25 model being close to 150lb even if it was made out of all metal.. -
Postal Cuts to slow delivery times.
B-dub replied to Mr. Moparman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
yeah they closed the post office in my town.. now the post office used is 12 miles away.. I went from getting my mail at 10am to now 4pm -
Just getting into riding idk what possessed me to do this but I randomly dumped the money on this new 2012 3700 and when it came in I had them add a trip/speed computer and a couple other accessories .. that weekend I went on a 20 mile ride as my first time out.. (I'm way overweight so I pushed myself hard during the ride) I've only got 30 miles on the bike since the weather turned but I'm excited to go riding next spring.

Models in Walmart.....
B-dub replied to coolplastic's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
nothing there was over $14.97 which is hard to see but in the pic. the classic cruiser vette was $11 there was another shelf full of $11 as well that were low detail kits like the vette I thought they were good prices I actually loaded my cart up thinking about buying almost all of them to trade off for other kits since they were cheap enough I could eat the cost of shipping and it be an even trade -

I wish I had a LHS that stocked stuff I have to go almost 2 hours away just to get to hobby lobby and they don't even know what styrene is... I'm going to talk with the r/c guy and see if he'll possibly carry more stuff or if he can order me stuff at reasonable prices (instead of me buying offline) I bought 2 models from him and he seems really nice, knocked about 25 cents off my glue for no apparent reason haha -

I don't really have a LHS the only one's I have do R/C stuff and cary maybe 5 models =/ and yeah I freaked out walmart had a nice selection and all for 10-15$ ! I picked up a 2002 camaro ss/35th and an 85 mustang SVO they also had a few other nice models but I made myself resist. they were picked through quite a bit seems like my area needs to carry them again... people apparently were buying the heck out of them. that's what I started to get but ended up containing myself and only got the mustang and camaro (I'm making a shopping trip with the gf that will bring me close enough to hobby lobby to stop by) -

thanks guys, and I have something different in mind for the bed good idea?? lol... oh and Cranky I'm using your chopsticks and tape and chopsticks/clip tricks (have not used them yet but I picked them up and atached the clips) I'm actually using some wooden dowels I picked up cheap from the craft section (also where I found the wood for the bed).. the $10 cheapo off brand dremel I grabbed is paying me back for sure.. it's junk and will probably burn up soon but the random bits etc. were worth what I paid. -
Well as a kid I always put together the pre-painted plastic models from walmart and I'm ashamed to admit I've never finished a model I had to paint myself.. well.. here it is.... the model that will finally set me free of my fears of messing up haha.. so far that's all I have done.. chassis and bed together along with the basic engine parts.. I just about have everything glued together that I can until I start painting it.. eek...

Yepp Cranky the vid of your's of that dio is why I posted these pics. My stepdad travels working for phone company's and I drove out with a friend to Amarillo to visit my mom, was a nice trip and a neat place to go. edit- my bad didn't mean to put this in the wrong section. -
I'd like to join in with my 50 chevy 3100 pickup I've not finished a model since the pre-painted kit days when I would buy them from walmart and gluebomb them. this will be the first model I've painted everything myself .. so it may not be too pretty but oh well.. lol I actually plan to build it as more of a junker than shiny so it will be rough
