  1. Revell's going to make a fortune off of me on those Oldsmobiles! Scott, does this gentleman take orders off or eBay? Charlie Larkin
  2. Nice shade of blue and a nice build. Nice to see a 'Vette in something besides red or black. Charlie Larkin
  3. Not quite a stock color, but that does look really nice on it. I always thought the 1968-69 Skylark had a real dash of flair to it that the 1970-72 models lost big-time. Great looking model of a great-looking car. Charlie Larkin
  4. I tend to agree with Dale; Elon Musk is a resourceful man with a lot of resources. I think once the Tesla's teething problems are solved, and they can afford to move down-market, the cars will be a force to be reckoned with. Somewhere on TV, I saw a tour of the Tesla factory. Quite impressive. Charlie Larkin
  5. This is great incentive to finish up the '64 Hardtop I've been poking at, if I can get everything to actually clean up so I can get it done. Looks great, Al. Charlie Larkin
  6. Nice work on the engines. The rest of the conversion is nicely-done, too. Charlie Larkin
  7. I generally can get mine for about $7 at CarQuest stores. Charlie Larkin
  8. Shane, even without adjusting the wheelbase, you did a very credible job on that. I would suggest adding some door-handles. The Revell mid-60s A-bodies (1965 Chevelle, '66 ElCam, Chevelle, GTO) have nice separately-molded ones, and the '66 Chevelle is a wagon, so you'd have four of them. If you ever decide to try it again with the wheelbase strecth, you've already demonstrated that you can do a very credible job with this, and I'll look forward to seeing that if you give it a go. Charlie Larkin
  9. I need to get moving on my hardtop. This is REALLY beautiful! I think that first-generation Toronado was one of the best-looking cars GM ever made. Gee, Al, I wish I knew you were going to LIARS, I would've introduced myself, although I got there very late because of a bad accident. It would've been nice to say hello. Perhaps we'll catch each other at NNL if you make it. Charlie Larkin
  10. How much inducement would it take for you to do so?? Seriously, I like the 1960 Mercury- nice-looking car. That's one I'd buy a few of, especially if 3-4 different body styles were offered. Charlie Larkin
  11. Good to know. We're thinking of getting a new(er) car for my mother, and Dad and I have been seriously considering one of these vintage Sedan DeVilles. They still look enough like a Cadillac to her that she'll drive it. Charlie Larkin
  12. That could be a double-edged sword, though. To me, not just the brand-name should be memorable, but the product must be memorable. If I were a marketing manager, I'd want not only my make, but my individual products, to leave indelible impressions in the minds of the buying public. Charlie Larkin
  13. I wonder if I could get a camera, model cars and trains and a book or two? Charlie Larkin
  14. The same to you and your family, Rich. Charlie Larkin
  15. Don't you mean "fowl"? Charlie Larkin
  16. That does not sound promising? What happened?
  17. It's nice to see a Chevette going together. Charlie Larkin
  18. I know people like that. Charlie Larkin
  19. We had our little bit of snow in central Mass. Saturday night. It was a heavy dusting (about half an inch), but the roads were a little slick in a couple of places. Sunday and yesterday were cold, I haven't ventured outside today because I have a cold. Tomorrow and Thursday are supposed to be rainy. Friday, I'm not sure, but as long as I have reasonably clear sailing for my 20th high school reunion Friday night, I'm happy. Charlie Larkin
  20. For those with the unenviable task of preparing dinner for a bunch of fussy-eaters/food-allergics.... Charlie Larkin
  21. Y'know, now that you mention it.... Bares more than a passing resemblance to a younger Jean Stapleton, too. Charlie Larkin
  22. I like the lighting and shadow effects. Very nice, Wayne. Charlie Larkin
  23. That came out nicely. I might go grab one of those kits. Charlie Larkin
  24. Those basic skills are so essential to life, and they no longer teach them. The abandonment of practical education and real teaching is why I can't do it anymore, and am moving on to other things. Tom, that station came out beautifully. Definitely something to be very proud of. Charlie Larkin
