Well Im earning a new nick name this week after hitting my room mates car a few nights ago and tearing up his rear bumper cover which I am replacing. Tonight on the way home from work I hit a patch of black ice and lost control of my blazer. I slip probally a 100 feet or so chasing the rear of it going into a corner. I catch it for a split second for it to change directions and all I seen was the stop sign and the massive ditch beside it. I manage to keep the left front wheel on the road and the right front got in the ditch and deep. I drug 2 mini boulders out of the ditch with me. Ill go get pics of em in the morning. So now from what i seen when I got it home I need to replace both control arms on the right spindle idler arm tierods and drag link. This just gives me the excuse I needed to start hording my front end parts to go ahead and rebuild that end of it. Im hoping I didnt hurt the frame if I did Ill just go buy another body and drop my drive train in it.

Mustang'S New Ride

He also traded for a cheaper car to work on and engine trans for it are plentiful. I like the g-bodies but Im a s-series fan. Nothing like big motor in a little truck. Ive got a few motors laying around if you ever want to upgrade. 283 305 350's all sitting in the shed or on the stand. Even got 2 spare trans for my blazer. -
70 1/2 Camaro Updated 12-12-10 subframe redone
Jason Vandergriff replied to Jason Vandergriff's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Im thinking red and silver. Not finalized on it yet. Ive been experimenting with some new paints on some spare nascar bodies and have some stuff im wanting to use just got to get the technique down. Did i mention This will be at Birmingham show? -
I truly started this car in 05' I did the mini tub out back and the boxxed everything up and forgot about it. Once I got moved back in where Im at now one of the things I did was condense some of my multiple kits of the same thing. I found my start on this and set it aside. I filled in the massive gaps on the sub frame including those by the motor mounts. MOtor will be a fuel injected sbc of some sort. I've got a TPI unit begging for a project to be used on. Id originally planned on a set of wagon rod tires and wheels but Im not sure if I have another set or not. Dad got the set for this car. Let me know what ya think.

Update time. Frame is a modded 41 wills frame and rebuilt from the rear suspension mounts back. Rear trailing arms are scratch built. Quick change came from a monogram sprinter. He also added a rear roll pan and fender extension to make the rear blend in better. Enough of my ramblings heres the pics. What yall think?

Book marked for future refrence.

Im liking it. What size stock did you use on the front?
-
Dad has been at it again this time with new wheels and more plastic added. Wheels from Wagon Rod kit seats from a 41 willys kit. Seats turn 360 degrees. Motor is from the Saleen s281 kit that will be going on. I also sebt him a front frame section so he could build a new frame for it. Rear has a monogram sprint car quick change converted to solid tube style.

hows the chassis fit under the olds? -
Thanks guys. He came down and stole 4 41 willys street rod seats last night so I might be getting an interior update tonight. The sun roof was patterned after a Food Lion MVP card for the key chain. I also gave him some wheels for it also. Ill pass along the kind words and go get some more pics today sometime.

Well i got some pics on the comp and uploaded. base kits are amt's 69 corvair and 97 vette. to build what I'm calling 69 corvair copo. playing with the idea of turning it into a wagon which i think would be awesome. not sure on rolling stock but ill figue it onthe next rummage of the parts box. -
I talked dad into letting me post progress of his current build. He started with one Eric Jones 53 Ford Excab. The running gear is the flip nose version. tires and wheels in pics are mock up only. loads of hinge work and more to do. Hood scoop is a seat back with sheet stock sides. any questions just ask cause hes just a call away. Ill be updating as he wants to. stay tuned.

Jason Vandergriff replied to Jason Vandergriff's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Time for pics of whats been happening with this one. I didnt like how the roof was crooked so I cut up a junker body i had laying around and replaced mine. I have also opend the grill up spme to look like Harry's photochop of 40 ford pick up. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23716 Ill be using the side skirt idea as well. I didnt like how i didnt get the tunnel centered on the 1st floor pan so i cust it apart and did it again. Lots better this time. Frame work went south but Im going to try again sometime this week. Heres a few pics from the phone. -

Well time for a update. I got to looking at the body tonight and decided to offically commit this to the bench for a little bit between projects. IIll be starting with amt's 69 Corvair and a 97 Corvette. In order to do the 4 wheel independant i could scratchbuild or use most of the vette kit. So I made the first cuts on the corvette frame. Got it under the body now I need to correct the wheel base and start rebuilding all of supports and adding details. I need to open the trunk and am contemplating opening the doors after the roof mods Im doing. I see a wagon in the future. Pics after work or before bed. -
Boy does the yellow camaro stand out.

Thanks guys. The 89 Allison was one I always wanted to build. It needs a coat of future but it turned out nice for a shelf build. Ive decals and kits to do it again.
