  1. It does to a degree what really helps is filling in the area with small rod and your glue of choice then do the top side.
  2. Last night for me was my new compressor hose and couplings. a central pneumatic 3 gal 1/3 hp pancake style. Works great for the airbrush needs a bigger tank for the gravity feed but it does the job.
  3. Heres part of mine. All the paint stuff is out side in my other work space for the 1:1
  4. Jason, Take and sand the markers flush then apply a thin coat of the filler putty you bought. Sand it back down with 220 wet dry then reapply filler as needed. Once you got it close sand the are smooth with 400 and 600 grits. Dont forget to prime the area after you get it close cause it can show any imperfections you may need to correct. As for your paint design Apply the silver base first. Not only will this allow you to mask off your stripe first it will also make the blue a touch more vibrant. Mask the rest of the body and spray your black. Cant wait to see how it turns out for you.
  5. Coming from one who has done fins I say go for it. I love the idea and it looked cool.

  7. Here is something I did for another forum. Just a few tips to help any spray can users. I still have my assortment of them and now going back to my airbrush and hvlp gravity feed. http://docsrockbandmods.netforums.us/5-tips-for-rattle-can-users-dot-vt2059.html
  8. Yes but Id rather redo the putty work than have it show back up after paint a few months down the road. I have seen putty that survived the purple pond look good for a few months then just fall out later on.
  9. Thanks George. Ive gotta redo all the linkages as well. That looks killer and great work.
  10. Im in. I have 3 willys kits here for parts so I can start about anywhere i need to. Id like the builders whos in to have the say in how we build it.
  11. Pics? Ive used styrene to repair missing sections of body work. Ive also used it to add visual style. For the glue marks some careful sanding and body filler should take care of it.
  12. Hey george can you send me a pm on how you did that posable steering. Im wanting to do that on a car I'm working on. Awesome work.
  13. On a closed course Ive been 130+ No speedos in race cars. Other driving 110 in a 82 s-10 with a 305 and th350.
  14. Im in paint body interior are my faves.
  15. I would be more than glad to but dad dont even understand the concept of a forum. I carry the laptop up there and show him yalls post. Ill be going up there tomorrow night for the shoot out laptop in hand. He is having a blast with this truck. I know my parts box is a little thinner because of it but I want him to enjoy it. I actually got him to use a big wheel on something for a change. Once they get the net and figure out how to use It Ill help him out to join up here.
  16. Jim I post clickable thumbnails. This makes it easier for dail up to view and I was trained on other forums to do the same.
  17. Looking great as usual. Can I get some more detail on how to do those door frames?
  18. just got one of these for the body. Nice work so far.
  19. Dads been at it again this time on the interior. All scratchbuilt dash and console. Door panels match also and all have cup holders and door pulls. Ill go get some pics of them tommorrow. Here is a few pics and some color on the important stuff. Tell him what ya think.
  20. Ray I'm not sure on the colors yet. Ive got a real nice silver here thats gonna be the base color for anything else that goes over it. I have sprayed the floor pan in Dupli-Color Cherry Red Metallic. I love the color and might do silver hockey stripes down the sides. 29 days left to finish so work load will be going up. **UPDATE TIME** I opened the doors and started trimming interior panels. Havent figured out the tie rods yet done a few different ones and it still dont look right. Guess I need to ask George 53 how he did his cause those looked awesome. The hinges looks like they are going to be really interesting to build cause I want them to look like a factory hinge. I'll be thinning the edges of the panels to a more scale apperance.
  21. Im going lt with mine ls would be killer but not sure if i can find another ls motor thats complete.
  22. That thing looks great. I've got one in the getting to contest table stash and this is some great inspiration.
  23. Actually it didnt bother me to sell it. I was cramped in the cab of it. It had bucket seats console and a sls trim package. It was a body swap to a frame i had under another body but got tired of all the wiring issues from previous owners cutting the harness. Took 2 days and had it running on day one but didnt get all the front sheet metal back on it before i ran out of energry. Drfove the truck like it sits in the picture for 50,000 mile that year as a delivery driver. It was a v8 also at $3+ a gallon gas. Id come out cheaper with the coilovers and leafs for sure unless I still do all tubular control arms. Its liable to be a year or so before I tackle it heavy, main goal this year is drive time.
  24. The fenders on that truck came from a 87 4x4 s-10 blazer. Tahoe was an option package on 82-93 s- series trucks. It usually feature a nicer interior with the addition of bucket seats and center console. Some extra exterior accessories and better suspension. Tahoe included the zq8 sport package from the factory. Zq8 had lawered front and rear springs stiffer front sway bar and on 2nd gen s-series a hop shock on the rear axle. Ive researched these trucks tooth and nail over the years. Ill have to dig up some pics of an older truck i dont have anymore that had s-10 tahoe fender badges on the right side fender. 4wd models did not have the zq8 package.
  25. Im down to 2 the vertable and the red blazer. The blue one had a 283 in it until it acted up and started spitting through the carb pulled the motor for a rebuild and got in a pinch and sold the rolling body. The convertable is going to get alot of work on it this summer and if I can get a second job It will be done frame off with all new components through out including tubular a-arms upper and lower air bags all around If I do that then it will lay frame if i stay with stock style suspension frint will get qa1 coilovers and the rear will get lowering leafs with a disk brake conversion on the rear. Wanting to go with a 5 speed in it cause its a weekend cruizer but no parts to do it at the time.
