  1. looks like something from Ice Road Truckers?, good Luck looks like it will be fun to do. Harvey
  2. A good tank might be the tanker trailer that comes on some of the IMC Dodge L-700s, you should be able to modify that one to be something close to what they used back in the day. They are not to hard to find as they were reissued a couple of years ago,the little dodge l700 would have been used to then. Harvey
  3. The ROG kenworth dump truck has one,it is just an extra part in the box?,maybe if you bought one of them you would get a free sleeper?. Harvey
  4. Very nice job on that one, this is one of my favorite kits,I just wish IMC had made the bigger cabover when they had planned too, their kits were very nicely detailed for the time. Harvey
  5. I made one like that years ago,i used a dark green from testors, and the bright red too,i don't remember the numbers of them?,it looked like british racing green,i know it was a testors paint as that was all I had access to at that time. You could check over at Hanks Truck Pictures too,a lot of the guys there are very helpful with this type of request. Harvey
  6. will these cabs be for sale?,I too always wanted to do a Blue Mule, seen the movie at the drive in when it first came out.Always loved those ford cabovers, however the drivers of them did not think a lot of them, supposedly real cold in the winter and hot in the summer, were mainly a fleet truck when new,not many owner operators had them. Harvey
  7. you might have to modify the sleeper curtain,i would test fit it before you paint the cab,it fits pretty tight around the area you put the strips to hold the cab together.Been a while since I made one,but I remember it was a bugger to get the curtain in. Harvey
  8. Try over at Hanks Truck Pictures, maybe post a request for pictures there,a lot of the guys there are good for that type of thing. Harvey
  9. you could try placing it between 2 pieces of wood, like a couple of 2x4s,and let it sit out in the hot sun,if you have any where you live?leave it out for a few hours and let it cool off between the boards, might work, but I cant be sure if it will, but it is a easy way. Harvey
  10. I think if you were to ask over at Hanks Truck Forum, there would definetly be someone there who would have access to one of these in their backyard?,Myself I have never seen one that old, what year is it?,looks very neat,is this a recent picture or an old one. Harvey
  11. how much will they be?Cost might be a factor.Harvey
  12. Does anybody know if round 2 is going to do some of the kenworth kits again. Are the molds really destroyed,or is this just an urban myth?.Would love to see them again,I remember when they were 4.99 at the local Kmart, think I paid 5.99 for the big mixer kit. Harvey
  13. Google TV Tommy Ivo, he had a dragster hauler made form one of them, wouldnt be to hard to scratch out,it held his dragster in the back, was a very flashy rig back then.I don't know how to post a link to the pictures I found. Harvey
  14. look for ne of the old MPC macks, they have the tall cleaner on them.It is chrome but is easily painted over, also some of the macks had a small scoop mounted backwards on the hood,it was a sign of the bigger mack motor, there is a name for it but I cant think of it right now.On the cleaner it has 2 hoses one is to let the motor use heated air when it is cold out, kind of a recirculating feature?. Harvey
  15. Holy BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH,this stuff hurts my eyes to see!,not to mention my confidence level, totally insane details that i cant beleive. Harvey
  16. Jerry, take a look over at Hanks Truck Pictures, you will surely find something there in a royal blue. Also dont forget to check out the forum there,it has a section for models too. Harvey
  17. Pavel, what are you going to do for the grille,i have seen some with a flush mounted grille and others with the grille mounted on the outer shell of the cab,im sure the grille would be about 6 inches thick if it was on a real truck,i am starting the same kit and mine has the "outer" style of grille.I dont mean to hijack this, but is there a difference in the grilles in some of the older kits?,mine is the "red" GMC one. Harvey
  18. anyone notice that the kw cabover has budd wheels, amt one had spoke wheels, also heller one looks to be a double bunk?,and the front bumper is different as well?.Also the petes look different,on looks like the small window cab, other looks like newest version?,also the conv has 225 peices, wrecker has 190 peices,i think the wrecker should have more?.I know this is all very trivial.Be nice if someone had both versions to compare them, just to see exactly what ,if anything was changed. Harvey
  19. Yes Casey, thats the one i saw,i never was a fan of the small ones, had the pete tractor and the reefer trailer when they first came out, just werent enough like the "real" ones.I only had the 2 of them, long gone now. Harvey
  20. I thought i seen a KW aerodyne cabover on ebay?was i seeing things, did they make that one in 1 4/3 scale.my eyes could have been playing tricks on me,but the box was really beat up. Harvey
  21. Hi All, what i do is i put a peice of glass on the bench and lay a sheet of 400 or 500 grit sandpaper on it and use it to block the edges smooth, lay the cab on the seam side down and move it back and forth, only remove enough to get it perfectly flat,do the same to the rear section too.you should be able to get a perfect fit,it helps the peices fit tight so the seam doesnt show.kind of hard to explain, but i think most of you will know what i mean. Harvey
  22. Very nice, looks like the truck from Cannonball, the one jerry austin used to drive, look on youtube, there are some old videos of the TV show from the 50's. Harvey
  23. Hi there, thanks,i will check out micheals,we dont have a hobby lobby here. Harvey
  24. Hi All, my grandson and i are building a Jolly Roger ship model,on the box it says you can paint it to glow in the dark,Where can i find this type of paint, there is no part numbers on the box for it?.I work in a bodyshop.and have never come across it anywhere.Any help is appreciated. Thanks Harvey
