I wonder if it was originally used by Coke as a company vehicle.for me that would be the only way i would even consider painting my own car like that.The number 29 on the fender was how they used to mark the company rigs?.

I built one back around 11984 when they first came out,it is a impressive kit when finished.The plastic is quite usable as it comes out of the box,it has a nice metallic finish to it.It would be a super easy kit to detail as everything is bigger,i could just imagine the detail some of the guys on here could do to it.Just make sure you have the room for it😁

The flaps on these trailers are usually a mismatched set,A NAPA one on one side and a company one on the other side.Very rarely do you see a matched set on older "fleet trailers. Looks very realistic with the rust and barnacles on it.

When i was younger i really loved the monogram kita as they wre molded in color,it was easier for a 8 year old to make a pretty good looking car.Painting the body was always hard to get just right,in color they always looked pretty good..I really liked the early iron series,that is what ignited my passion for hot rods to this day.

I cant tell what it is,but if i had a real one i wouldnt be hanging out with a bunch of fakes.😎

I remember growing up and seeing the canadian model cars and i was not impressed at all by them,i thought the "american" cars were so much better looking.In eastern canada where i lived there was never much in the line of fancy cars,a lot of old stogy 4 doors and the like,times were pretty tough here then. harveyb

Back in the late 60s when the AMT truck kits came out they were sold in truckstops too.Back then you could find model kits just about anywhere,lots of small mom and pop stores had them,drug stores were another place to get them as well.

I remember seeing a lot of these on the road back in the day.They were quite popular with the small operators,today no one runs a gas tractor,everyting is now diesel around here.

Ive worked in bodyshops for the last 40 years,we used to "deaden" the tape before we put it on a soft freshly painted surface when we were doing a 2 tone.You run the tape through your fingers to help reduce the stickyness of the tape,it helped to keep from pulling the fresh paint off,We did this as the last step before spraying the paint,it does remove some of the glue in the tape and the tape could come loose if you werent careful.Fineline tape is also good for getting nice crisp lines between colors too,it is a bit less sticky then regular masking tape too.

Mack motors were gold colored back in the 60's then they went to a darker grey color.I think the V8 was grey,it was not a common engine it only was used for a few years,the 6 was the one you always seen back in the day.

I second the hate for Ebay,it used to be a great place to find the wierd and unusual stuff,they wanted a piece of the shipping and when they did it was ruined,i live in Canada and cant afford the shipping tactics they use. Wish it was like before when the sellers would work with you and try and help out,now they cant becaause it is all done with the company shipping.

I was watching TV the other night and a commercial came on for the new game of Fortnite and there was one in the game ? it showed it for just a second on the screen,that might be an idea?

Most people leave the peeled off ones on their car so the red light cameras cant get them,and if they do get stopped just play dumb.?

looks like towmaters long lost cousin?.looks like a late 60's dodge truck cab sitting on a possibly a motorhome chassis,wonder if it was ever roadworthy or if thats as far as he got with it,wonder how much they want for it.

I have a bunch of the old bottles too,i take them and wrap them in paper towel and fill a quart sized can pack them in snug and i put them on my paint shaker,it really helps to mix them up good.Have had great luck bringing them back this way,i worked in a bodyshop so i had access to the paint shaker.Just keep an eye on it so they dont rattle around,repack them if they do.Had the top of one come loose one time,they all had blue paint on them that time. harvey

Dont forget the Hayes trucks,a canadian manufacturer that used the Mack cabover cabs on their trucks,around the early 70's then they used the peterbilt cab in their final years.Also the cab from the ford C-600 was used on some Mack cabovers back in the sixties?.There was a lot of outsourcing back in the day. harvey

The twin turbo setup is a newer design,back in the day they would have only 1 turbo or even a supercharger.Some didnt even have a turbo,the motor in the white freightliner cabover and the autocar dump truck have non turbo cummins motors.The motors in the AMT kenworth kits is a good version of what a lot of rigs had back in the day,a cummins 335 or 350 engine. harvey

Everything greg said is true,i made the petty superbird years ago,it was my first jo-han i ever had.I was impressed with them,always liked them since too.I only wish they had made Semis,i am more into them then cars,im sure they would have made some obscure stuff.Get them you will not be dissapointed.

I think there used to be one in the 49 ford kit from AMT,the convertible car ,i had one and i used it on a Mack truck,they used to have one for the Maxidyne motors? in some of the 70"s R600 models. harvey

That looks like some of the decorator pieces you would see at bed bath and beyond type of stores?Ive seen some VW buses that look like they were made by the same people.Does it say what scale it is supposed to be,the VW buses looked like 1/8 scale,lots of burnt welds and rust-patina on them too,actually looked pretty cool for a ornament,here in Canada Home-Hardware used to have them. harvey
