  1. LOL, Mike, my wife blames me for speed listening, and you are checking my posts for speed reading. I think the larger type, above 18 pts, sure does help!
  2. Phil, you are preaching to the choir here. Jairus has given a lot of his blood, sweat, and great art to this forum, to the magazine, and to the hobby in general.
  3. My god, Chuck, the resemblance is so striking. That would be a great look and build. Do you have a 73 Ford Gran Torino, did they ever make one?
  4. Yes, or rust, if you want it to show through underneath. I mean, you don't have to build your TZH to look rusty or beat up, but personally I like the fact that rust, like some other colors, adds a nice look to the model.
  5. It will be interesting to see what people end up doing with these decals over time.
  6. In other words it sounds like they are trying to do all the business they can while they still can.
  7. Definitely strange, I'm trying to figure out the connection between those weird front and back scoops (if that's what they are called), the swirly pipes, and the racing graphics . . . it's as if the Transformers had children with Pokemon or something!
  8. Looks great, all this hard work you've put in is going to pay off big time!
  9. Oh boy, talk about beautiful building from scratch. Definitely pure eye candy already and the results are looking excellent. Keep it going, please.
  10. LOL, Andy, of course not. Just saying that part of the costume's going to be that kilt! The hard part is going to be upholstering the model in that plaid pattern.
  11. It looks like someone has the "Rusting" Fever! I like it, rusty and crusty and nature worn!
  12. Beautiful case too, Andy. When you are not using it, it will be well protected in there. Thanks for sharing.
  13. Justin, I got it. Thanks, buddy. Stay tuned in for more.
  14. Mark, like you, I am dying to find out how the results turn out. I know you will post a picture. I have that rusting system, but I've never used it on a model because it has always looked a bit too thick, and I would not spray it through the airbrush. Keep us posted.
  15. Hey, Jason, great to see you over here, buddy. WELCOME TO THE TZH SQUAD. And it looks like you're off to a great build. Wow, thanks for the pictures, I will copy them for the next TZH WIP build update. Hope you look around the forum and check out all the amazing eye candy going on here. Cheers, DC.
  16. Jonathan, the purpose of those kinds of attacks is to get you to feel inhibited and less free about sharing your imagination and creativity with others. After a while, you realize that you ARE in fact a rational human being here to share and have fun. It's a hobby to be shared, not something you need to be careful or stressed out about. For that there is always real work and REAL LIFE!
  17. Shane, point well made. Actually it's the GENERAL topic or discussion area that I think makes this forum stand out from others out there, a section where we can relax and be a bit less serious about the stuff we enjoy, our sense of humor, whatever . . . yeah, it's like being a model car shows . . . it's hectic and tense while everyone sets up, the models get talked about, tips and techniques get shared, photographs are taken and then people go off to dinner to enjoy each others' company and to talk about EVERYTHING under the sun. How freeing and wonderful is that!
  18. Mark, I agree with Ryan, we need to see more. Right now it looks like a magic trick, a bunny about to come out of the hat. Show us more, please.
  19. Was it this one, Mike: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=40000&hl=ghosting&fromsearch=1
  20. Jonathan, for many of us, in particular if you have children, there is no better time indeed. After everyone goes to bed, even the pets, there's really nothing more magical than the work bench, fresh styrene on the slab, some good music on the radio . . . and you are set.
  21. No, Rich, the trouble was not your thread or your intentions, you were just posting a regular post like the rest of us trying to get some good discussion started, that's all. Delighted to hear your styrene blues are over. Now, let's see what you will put on the bench and build when you get it going.
  22. And here's another great reason why I return to this forum time and again because there are builders like John determined to make my eye balls pop out of my skull: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=53369
  23. There's always the sleepless night time . . . lots gets done if you can't sleep. Nothing better than to hit the bench when even everyone is asleep.
