  1. I think he's probably using urethanes, which is why you never see him or he never talks because he's wearing his respirator.
  2. Joseph, there have been a few conversations about pooling resources together and getting one for our needs here on the forum, but nobody has been able to work out the specifics. It'd be great to have a reasonably priced after market stencils cut and made and put on the market.
  3. A friend of mine is making a documentary about them in Miami, New York, and Chicago. He's already put on a few extra pounds.
  4. Shane, that's perfect, sure. All I wanted to do was get everyone thinking about it with plenty of time this way people don't feel pressed when October rolls around. I'm already ordering some of the basic components of my costume. And I think by October I should also have a new model built to go with it.
  5. Love the work and eye candy you guys are kicking up on this thread. Very nice. Thank you.
  6. You guys are great. Now, remember, keep the round of progress pictures coming so that I can add them to the next video, in particular those of you entering the primer stage. You know the routine, post the best picture you can and I will copy it. Unfortunately, I had a long day at work, so I'm crashing early tonight. Hold the fort, my friends. See you tomorrow! Cheers, DC
  7. Terry, that's a great idea . . .
  8. Daniel, that's a good comment. Actually, this AB artist, I am pretty sure must have a vinyl cutter and that's how he does the designs. He makes them in layers to get the right effects. Those cutters are still pretty expensive . . .
  9. Erik, this one has a great and beautiful canvas to work with. Hope you are having fun figuring out what colors and paint to put on it. Best, DC
  10. Rick, it is a great idea to line up all the 3-Day Weekends so that people can mark them on their calendars if they are interested, and then prepare for it. Not everyone (myself included) is going to participate in all of them, but at least we'll know they are on the radar. Thanks.
  11. Oh, that's fantastic news, those Fujimi kits bring loads of goodies. Thanks for the heads up, Tom.
  12. Doug, the Paasche should serve you well if all you want it to apply a nice coat of paint. Many of us here use the Paasche H with very good results. The way to approach is not to be fearful of it. Practice on scrap styrene and you'll start getting good results soon enough.
  13. LOL, they've must have gotten some other how-to instruction sheet mixed up with this one. Tom, do you know what kit these cool things are from?
  14. Both Robs are right on with those choices too. Rick, I think if you do this THEME for your club, you'll get lots of people excited about building. And it's a great recruitment tool for younger builders.
  15. Folks, I don't know how many of you have seen or visited this site, but you are in for a real treat . . . if you are just starting out with the airbrush, this is definitely a quick way of getting some cool graphics on your models. This artist does lots of amazing work on everything from Zippo lighters and game controllers to motorcycle tanks and larger pieces. He sells the stencil kits. Enjoy: http://www.youtube.com/user/bastchacky?feature=g-u-u You can also visit the website: www.wowair.de but get ready to translate from the German.
  16. It's a kit that brings lots of cool parts, so it's great to rob from it.
  17. Chuck, those are very nice, and thanks for sharing them. Wonderful pictures, BTW.
  18. Wow, Mike, for a minute I thought it was one of Harry's quizzes. Okay, now that it doesn't leave your mind (thanks for the infection!), what could a probably driver to such vehicle wear for a Sunday drive?
  19. Andy, it was just a joke about turning that cheap lacquer scent into a lady's brand perfume. Just like Doctor Cranky likes to splash on a little bit of styrene aftershave!
  20. Jim, you and I are going to one day do a duet of that infamous Donny & Marie Osmond song: I'm a little bit RUSTY, I'm a little bit SHINY TOO! I'm a bit more flexible than you are, my friend. At least I go over to the SHINY side every once in a while.
  21. Here's a good exercise to get help you get CRANKED UP! Listen to this song with your eyes closed and see what kind of vehicle you imagine, and think about what you'd be wearing to drive THAT car! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geLAbyOTaZA
  22. OH MAN, yeah, those 8-TRACKS were something else. I still have my collection over at my mother's house. I'm sure one day they will be worth lots of money--NOOOOOT!
