  1. Yes, the clock is ticking. I think I have found my subject which has been sitting in the box since I bought it.
  2. LOL, Mark, that's a very important spark that has started many of us on the road to casting!
  3. Oh man, Andy, that's too bad there isn't a picture, it would have been the coolest item in your scrapbook. Buy hey, nothing beats having met the man.
  4. Here's a link, but I didn't pay that much money for mine. I think mine was somewhere in the 399 dollar range. http://www.robotshop.com/centroform-ezform-sv-1217-tabletop-vacuum-forming-machine-3.html
  5. Wayne, I did not build it. I bought it on line. I've been trying to find the link but let me see if I can find it.
  6. Depending on how thick or thin it is, yes. If it's runny like 2% milk consistency, then it's ready to go, if not then reduce.
  7. Tim, great progress. I've clipped these pictures for the next progress video/slideshow. Keep up the great work.
  8. Here's how I do mine: What you need: accordion straws, plastic bottle, two part epoxy or GREEN STUFF, tape . . . Cut the straw to size: Mix the two part epoxy or poster tack will work too, and set it up like this: That should do it, then thin the paint to the right consistency to use with airbrush. Good luck.
  9. Welcome to the CARAVAN, Bart, get ready to have loads of fun!
  10. Chuck, I like it. Great details already on here and also fabulous weathering. LONG LIVE RUST!
  11. Phil, that's a beautiful model. Congratulations. You bring up an interesting point about "feeling" the clean coming on. After the final assembly and detailing, that old feeling normally comes on. Everything is spotless, smooth, inviting the viewer to linger for a while. There's no better feeling!
  12. Yes, November or thereabouts. Plenty of time. But the photographs for the CARAVAN will start being taken in August, that is if you send in your build.
  13. Bart, the link I sent you is for a thread here in the forum, under Community Builds. You should be able to see it. Yes, it's a post-apocalypse, ww3 (against Zombies this time) build that everyone participating in is having a blast, and we'd like you to join too. Best, DC
  14. Harry, that's why thousands of students go into Law School. It's a field day for attorneys!
  15. Bart, if you go here, it will all be made clear to ya: I hope you will considering building one. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=52127&pid=618569&st=1240&#entry618569
  16. Folks, the good news is that we have over 90 contributors to the TZH SQUAD CARAVAN, and we keep growing. It's not too late to join in all the fun. Also, look at what many of these folks are putting together. Doctor Cranky and EYEGORE haven't had this much fun in the Lab-RAT-ory since Frau Blucher looked at herself in the mirror. WE HAVE RESERVED A SPOT FOR YOU IN THE CARAVAN! GENERAL EYEGORE WANTS YOU!
  17. All right, the paint's on! Good color!
  18. Folks, the first SLIDESHOW is up and running. Those of you who are not in this video will be featured in the next video. Also, please, please, please try to post the best quality picture you can take, this way your work is clear and sharp in the video. Anyway, enjoy the ride and keep up the great work. There will be more videos of your progress and of your work coming up! Cheers, Doctor Cranky.
  19. Rob, personally, I like the idea. We need to be able to treat the wounded and quarantine the infected! Once they turn, then of course, it's a different matter.
  20. I think Aleene's should work, Rob. Then when you are done and take your pictures, then soak in warm soapy water over night. The glue should be gone or soft by morning, and you have a cleanly washed model! Two birds with one stone.
  21. Welcome to the TZH Squad Caravan, buddy. Bring it on, and join the fun! Can't wait to see what you cook up.
  22. Kevin, Cruz is a fabulous builder and his work always is exciting, so congratulations you have some of his work in your collection. Lucky you.
  23. Well, Steve, you can make a new post, show the better quality picture.
  24. Congratulations, John. I am sure you will have this picture framed and placed in a place of honor in your collection. This is the kind of attention all your builds deserve. It will not surprise me if one of these fine days they will curate a John Teresi show at the Petersen Museum or at the Smithsonian!
