  1. That looks very cool. I've always loved the VEGA . . .
  2. Derrick, Ken is one heck of a nice guy and very accessible too.
  3. Another day of progress . . . although it is raining. There's something magical about building a model while it rains . . . I love it. Stay tuned in for more Lab-RAT-ory fun!
  4. Tom, not to mention that if they get too grungy you can throw them out and start clean with another one. It's the beauty of using recycleable products.
  5. Those of us infected with the kit-bashing decease could never have too many kits, and it is expensive, but it's also wonderful have a deep parts box.
  6. Let's hope they are listening. They might be exhausted after all the changes to the Hornet.
  7. Ray, I use chopstix I got from a friend who runs a sushi restaurant and double sided tape to hold smaller parts. You can also use a flat piece of cardboard (sturdy) and tape to hold down your parts. Or you can use blue tack and toothpics . . . or alligator clips. I use all these things to hold down small parts. For car bodies, I use the chopstix with double-sided tape method. Everyone has a different method. You'll end up using what feels right to you. Cheers, DC
  8. Wonderful, Chuck . . . it's stuff like this that makes this forum ROCK!
  9. That looks very cool.
  10. Boy, I'd give an arm and a leg to have one of those in kit form, although I wouldn't mind a real one either! LOL!
  11. Wonderful picture/art piece, J.
  12. Actually, that's really where the term comes from. You know you shouldn't spend that kind of money, but then you do. I feel rather guilty about 10% of the time whenever I buy a new kit, knowing chances are I won't ever build it.
  13. Great progress. I can't wait to see you smooth out all that styrene and get it ready for primer and paint. It's always so exciting.
  14. Jim, the reason why Ken's book is that price is that people are taking advantage of the fact that it is out of print, so they ask whatever price because they know what I know which is that Mr. Hamilton's book is THE BOOK on building automobile related dioramas. I am a happy and proud owner of a signed copy. My advice is to keep looking for it in hobby shops, etc . . . and you might just run across it one day. The other option is to contact The Strand in New York and see if they can track you a copy for a more reasonable price. Is it worth it, you bet!
  15. LOL, thanks. Yes, it's a mixture of Egyptian Mummy meets Warhammer Tomb Kings . . . with builds like this, you never know how it's going to go. Thanks for the support. Here's a little video (Part 1) I made to chronicle the build . . . enjoy.
  16. Wow, great looking for a 20 year old model. Wonderful.
  17. Oh man, you are making very exciting progress!
  18. Looking great. I like the fact they already look rather worn and very realistic.
  19. The next round of detailing is underway, and it's fun, fun, fun . . . Stay tuned in and thanks for all the support and comments . . .
  20. Wow, great styrene surgery! Keep it going.
  21. Oh man, you even drilled the holes for the speakers! Great touches and styling throughout. Keep it going. This build is a total inspiration!
  22. Thanks, John, yes, this one is coming along nice, but slow . . . sometimes I think way too slow for my own OCD brain! Stay tuned in for more . . . .
  23. O man, I am liking that. Where did you get the grill, or does it come with the kit? I haven't seen one of these vans since I built them in the 70s!
