  1. Beautiful colors and details, Alyn. KUTGW. Cheers.
  2. Thank you all for the good wishes. I really appreciate it. And please keep the eye candy coming, and the good work too, of course.
  3. Loving that engine, Ira.
  4. Some great styling cues. I love those reds. I would be tempted to put all three of them on there.
  5. I think if you are going to go through the trouble of scratch building or kit bashing or simply pouring all these hours into a model, the least you can do is use the proper paint, and yes, it is going to be a bit expensive. The military modelers spend a fortune on each model because they use photo etch and real metal tracks, etc . . . and there is no way to skimp on the paint of a model.
  6. Amazing, that thing has to be worth a mint. Bless her heart!
  7. Thanks, everyone, we are making slow progress . . . stay tuned in . . .
  8. Oh man, great body work on the Olds. Keep it going. Don't get distracted with that amazing 49 Merc. I remember that one, and yes, you will finish it. Focus, Grass Hopper, focus. LOL.
  9. Thanks, everyone. Casey, no, but it too has sink marks. I opened three versions of this kit: The Street Machine, the Standard 3100, and the Texaco, and they all have sink marks on the frame which means a few hours of filling and sanding if you want it to look better.
  10. Mike, that is looking beautiful. Can't wait to see more of that paint get done.
  11. All right, folks, Doctor Cranky is back in the Lab-RAT-ory, getting cranked up to build another shiny, this time a 50 Chevy Pick Up. Haven't done one shiny in many years since I got back into the hobby. Right now I am in the process of picking out the best parts among three kits and getting that frame smooth and straight with putty. Lots of sink marks on this puppy. This kit always gets me really excited about building models. I don't know what it is, but it is going to be fun. I can feel it. Got the body smoothed sanded up to 2000, but I will go all the way to 12000. Removed some of the trim and door handles, the gas neck, etc . . . Getting the bed ready too: Stay tuned in for more . . .
  12. Yes, more eye candy. Get our daily dose today.
  13. It's another work of art. A masterpiece of detail. Can't wait to see the paint, John. You are almost there.
  14. No doubt, it's a beautiful air brush.
  15. It's been said before. Take a break, recharge, clear your head, get some inspiration by going to car shows or a model car show.
  16. Another beauty build, Drew. Love that blue too. Nice.
  17. I've seen Dan's model, and I've always loved the idea of building one of these. I say go for it and have fun. This one is almost borderline camp mule-ish!
  18. Great review, Chuck. I love it. I've never seen or had the kit.
  19. Thanks, everyone.
  20. Thanks, folks. I'm on to the next project. A couple of shiny 1950 Chevy 3100s. Best, DC
  21. Thanks, everyone. I got the air cleaner from The Modelhaus.
  22. Oh, I like this color combination. What mask did you use for the flames?
  23. Beautiful, Tom. LONG LIVE RUST!
  24. You're making so mighty fine progress. That chassis and tires are looking great. Rest up and keep it going.
  25. Thanks to everyone for the comments. Cheers, DC
