Rolling chassis and engine almost ready: My new favorite color for these chassis now is Anthracite Grey Metallic. Love it.

Time to work on the engine with some modernizing parts: EYEGORE always gets the firing order wrong because he says it really makes everyone aware the Doctor doesn't know anything about building engines. LOL. Drilled out that hole on the carb because it was a sink mark, so now I will put some sort of gizmo on there.

Body in primer, and engine getting done before the body--what is the world coming to in the Lab-RAT-ory? LOL.

Thanks, Bryan, and Todd, and everybody. So far we are making some slow progress, but it is moving along. I love this kit, and I think it's fun to have several around to use the different colors on the plastic to pretend the parts are coming from different sources, which they are. Smoothing and buffing the body to a high shine as a prelude to the primer.

Dennis, I totally agree with you. But, I think what you mentioned is exactly why a lot of us build models in order to try things out. Sometimes the imagination is a wild, wild place and I would be the first one not crazy enough to spend any money on a paint job like this in a real car. LOL!

Greg, a fellow builder, brought this to my attention and this is what he uses to get some excellent paint jobs. I had never heard of this or seen one and I am curious to find out if anyone here has had experiences with this. Thank you in advance.

These pictures tell the story of the dedication to and love of details. What a great looking engine. It doesn't get more realistic looking than this.

Thanks, Tim. I got the paint for the chassis and frame components. I guess I am starting this one from the ground up.

This one is going to ride a bit lower than stock, but we'll see how low . . . Stay tuned in for more progress.

Making slow progress getting everything together, mocked up, and ready for primer and paint. This is the chassis that comes with the TEXACO edition of this truck, and I will be using it on another project. Here's the body smoothed and sanded up to 2000 grit. Nothing more lovely than these fat curves! LOL.
