  1. This must be the reason people have been stripping the chrome and spraying it more often now. I was always wondering about this and your ordeal explains it.
  2. Wow this is killer .
  3. Just do a quicky build or try a new painting style. I have way too many kits I will not build in my lifetime but I have traded a few off for something I will build, well hopefully .LOL
  4. Back in the day most cans had a logo of some kind on them in their own colors. Green would work, or just put a logo on it with your name . Check this page out. http://gasolinestationmemorabilia.com/Half,_1_+_2_Gal_Cans.html
  5. Those are the current colors rules anyway. Did not know if they had rules back in the day about colors on cans.
  6. Kris that is very nice. I am going to to have to save up for that one.
  7. Nice.
  8. I like your idea about the car hauler . You might want to look into brass angle for your main supports. I have not use it but many guys have done some nice projects with it.
  9. Great looking Bird.
  10. Welcome aboard you will enjoy it here .
  11. I think Greg has been drinking some of the Lake Erie Green water. LOL Looks cool. All the rest =creative minds.
  12. Do not forget that Molds were inventory that was taxed here in Michigan . So if they had no use for the molds in their eyes why pay tax on them. Scrap prices raising when times were tough for the molding company comes out to things being lost/scrapped.
  13. Measured an Atlas 1 gallon can for brake fluid. 4.125 X 6.625 X 9.375 Tall 10.450 tall at the top of the handle.
  14. I have two different sizes Frank . If you would like to scratch build some here are the measurements. The smallest one is chrome plated and is .178 X .268 X .363 Tall .407 to the top of the handle The larger ones are molded in red ( I am thinking 34 Ford truck AMT) .245 X .350 X .455 Tall .510 to the top of the handle.
  15. Yes it does Greg. Just picked one up yesterday.
  16. I would say start with thick card stock for a pattern or the side of a thin box will work also. That way you will not be using plastic for fitting.
  17. Well lets see Tom it was 1984 for me and they still were not cool! 30 years this year and I would buy a clean 73 Pinto wagon if I found one. Yes that is what I got to drive the few times I was able to drive to school as a senior. I was made fun of, but they all piled in when we went sledding with the sleds inside the car. The other wagon that was in our class driven most every day was an AMC Matador that you could fit 15 kids inside on a Mountain Dew run.
  18. Glad to hear she is on the mend Jeff. This was the cause of my mothers death last November.
  19. Just take as many photos as you would like of anything and post them later. We all will enjoy them. Great weather for this today.
