All Iv'e really done is mold the fender flares to the body. I didn't have any primer on hand so i had to shoot some green over it for a depth check.

I know exactly what your talking about, i know i dont hang around here much(or post that much!) but rodney(zukiholic) helped me out alot with my corvette build now i just have to strip the bad paint i put on it off He's a great guy though -
I was messing around with a s10 mini truck im working on and the 69' shelby mustang frame will fit under the cab shell and bed with small modification! Now your probably thinking, why in the heck would i want ot put a mustang frame under a s10??? a few reason's, the front sits lower, it gives you more room once you cut the inner fenders out, and you dont have to c notch the frame! It also gives you more wheel choices. Also i noticed going down the road the other day a grill on a older toyota(like the aoshima one) and its just a s10 grill flipped upside down!. I'll have to take some pictures later!
-
Guy's dont be afraid to try it! i did it just for the heck on the bed for an s10 and it came out pretty cool! I'll have to take pic's later(look for my build!) Thank you cndyblu66ss!

Who asked you anyway? Better this than another generic "rat rod" i hate that term anyway, give me a good traditional rod damnit!

I had to bump this one I plan to do this on an s10

Heres my poor little Hula girl I know why it broke, they put it together with hot glue! Crazzzyyy Hawaii'ns!!!! -
I use krazy glue in the pen dispenser for the small stuff with models(like engines,etc...)But what do you guy's use for the big stuff? like frame mod's and stuff? I'm stuck doing a c-notch on a 96' s10 and cant get the parts to dry, I try'ed applying it generously and sparingly, let it dry for hours, but it just doesnt i've got it to dry a few times, but then i'll put the filler on the parts(to add strength) and it will dry on top and be like a bubble gum type of concoction underneath. So what do you guy's use? Thanks,Jeff

C-Notched frame suspension
Corvette.Jeff replied to Corvette.Jeff's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
thats the main readon i dont like live axles with IRS the diffy botls to the body(or frame) then your knuckles are held up with one shock and three bars connecting it to the diffy(and half shafts). I thought about doing air bags(it would explain it being slammed) but i dont even know where to start wiht how ot mount the axle to the frame, besides shocks. -

I guess the worlds been ending for longer than i've been alive, i've lived in Texas my whole life and its always been hot -
I had to paint flat black trim on a 06' vette a while back, heres how i did it. First i did all the needed bodywork. Then i put a nice thin coat of black primer down, Let that dry, sand repeat. Apply flat black to needed areas,k let dry, sand, repeat. Then i let it sit for about a day to let it dry completley, THen i masked off the areas i wanted to keep flat black, a new coat of gray primer(it was going to be a metallic red) sand, repeat, then i let that dry half a day(i got up at like six in the mornin ) then i put a very light coat of the red on, gave it a light sanding, then put a little thicker coat on, sanded, then put on a nice thick coat, wet sanded then cleared three times. let it dry for two days, then take the masking tape off. it came out nice. i dont have any pictures because i gave it to a friend that wanted it when he saw it You really do need to get the body's off that piece of cardboard, its gonna come back to haunt you one day If your worried the paint can will warp the body, i promise you it wont. you can even use the tamiya spray bottles to hold it up, not only will it keep the paint from building up at the bottom, but it will allow you to apply better coats.

Harri, I personally invite you to come feel the heat in Tejas Last summer it stayed under 110, but it passed that mark this winter, in january it was about 114 -
thats why i dont like decals they can ruin a perfectly good paint job

It's getting way to hot here in Texas, yesterday i went out to my car to get some stuff i had in there, and i saw that my little hula' girl was leaning over kinda funny(it was about 110 outside) so i go to straighten it out, and it came off my center console in my hand!!! I've always heard that black cars get hotter than most, but hot enough to melt the glue that was holding the spring on?!?!?! and the foam sticky thing as well!!!! I even have a window cracked open so it wont be so hot in there, dang it gonna be another hot summer in Texas I envy you guys up north p.s. i also put some glazing putty on a model yesterday when it was so hot and left the body outside so the house wouldnt get ensumed by fumes, i went out about an hour later and the putty had cracked!

Howdy, I recently got a 96' s10 pickup from a family friend who knows i love building, I decided i want to do a mini truck type build but I'm stuck on the suspension. It'd be pretty cool to keep the leaf's but if i cant thats o.k. Any ideas? I'm already searching the web for suspension setups. Thanks,Jeff

official WIP drift car build off thread

There was a kid here in Texas not to long ago that put a 2jz in a 69' camaro. Rumors were that the dyno read out was over 1,000 at the wheels! -
Yea i saw the one you posted, I think the one I have is a different kit though. I thought about those "bread ties" from loafes of bread for the antenna's but i'll have to check the scale on them,
