  1. no one wheel donuts for me this baby's got lsd the 'vette will burnout unlike anything i've ever done a burnout in(thats saying alot!) she'll start sliding towards one side untill you let up off of either the throttle or the brake. I think i have 3:11's in it right now(thats what my corvette friends told me i had) I have thought about upgrading to some better gears but shes really my main source of transportation at the moment(at least till i can find a cheap datsun 510 ) Its wierd describing what this diffy will do, it'll turn a whole rotation then lock up once the pinion gear hits the main drive gear(thats what i call em.lol)
  2. I got kicked off a car forum once because a faovorite of the owner didnt like me that and i wrote ancillary discusion like a hundred times on all the clasified add's
  3. I dont really post here about real cars besides in a few threads, but about three months ago my 'vette started making a clinking noise from inside the differential. So a few months of being chauffeured around by my mom(or driving her Taurus) and working nonstop i had enough extra scratch saved up to buy some major parts for my 'vette. So here we are today, i took apart the diffy yesterday night(i slept in a little to long, lol) and this morning i finally found out why my 'vette was clinking. So here we have everything that I've taken out(minus the driveshaft) (and yes the differential does go together in two pieces like they do on the models.lol) Heres the main damage, its kinda hard to see but the part that connects withe the driveshaft is missing a tooth. Last but not least heres what broke off, its laying next to a 16mm socket. Just thought i'd share with ya'll some of my fustration and what happens when you do burnouts in a 25 year old car.lol Happy motoring,Jeff
  4. heres another http://www.freshalloy.com/forums/archive/i...hp/t-31288.html
  5. I just proved my self wrong http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qi...26105258AAAMHhL avidently it is legal to register a rhd car in the U.S.A. and drive it. i did however have problems when i tryed to register my old "fairlady z" here in Texas.......Hmmm time to do some more research
  6. thats why.lol I'm all the way down in Texas! lol I think the only way your aloud to drive a lhd vehicle here is if its an antique, i think... I'll have to check the laws though.
  7. last i heard it was illegal to drive a rhd car over here, ut now that i think of it, my neighbor does have a rhd jeep(but he delivers mail) I saw a r34 when they were still pretty new around my town, i havent seen it since though.
  8. whats that grill from? i only ask because i got one in a parts box from a friend a while back.... The truck looks great! i really like those custom taillights Jeff.
  9. You are one lucky son of a gun, i can only wish that those were legal over here in the states
  10. Why not the wheels that are in the pictures? those look pretty sweet!
  11. when i still had my elky it said truck on the title
  12. heres what it pretty much looks like right now......
  13. this thing is really starting to take shape got it up on wheels and added some more tubeing, i can throw this thing across the room and nothing will happen
  14. i voted model, anyone who has ever owned a camaro should see why
  15. thats what i call the whatchyamacallit! It started out as a ramunition monster truck, yea ill take some more pictures(waiting for glue to dry) heres a picture,
  16. i really dont know why the heck i did that but then again does anyone really know why little kids do anything? and thanks again zukiholic!
  17. Yea i knew it was a dodge because of the oil pan, and i knew it was a hemi because how big it was, i just didnt know the ci. "Carb fire" haha its just a little black
  18. Yea i know about restoring cars, i restored most of a 83' datsun 280zx turbo in my carport by myself at age 15-16, when i got it it was completely gutted barely had a engine and was missing the front fenders and had a huge rust hole in the firewall from a battery leak, the only reason i got that is it was free and it was a "fairlady"(japanese spec.) it found its way all the way back to japan! I left out a few things about the impala, yes its a four door(i love four doors) i didnt check the floor pans but they aren't that hard to replace, it has all the trim, its a base sedan, the only thing really missing is the drivers side window which the 63' Biscayne has and im not to worried about resell value, I've owned three cars in my life and only sold one. i will have a place to store once we figure out where my dads being transferred to. I may have over exaggerated about the level of resto needed lol, to the best of my knowledge all it needs is new tires, new lights all around(not the lenses the bulbs) new fluids( its got a v8 ) and a quick run down while its on a lift. im sure if i do get them ill end up either parting out the Biscayne or selling it whole. Im not really to worried about a title if he has one great but if he doesnt i can get one, in Texas you can get a bonded title, thats where you have to wait i think two years and if no one claims it you get it. Plus I'll do what we did with my old z, you search the Vin# for the last registered owner then ask them till you can either find the last person that owned it legally, or if they're deceased contact their family to make sure its not stolen.
  19. Im just absolutely speechless that is amazing work!
  20. Hi all, i recently came across a 1964 impala(the real car not the model ) and a 63' Biscayne, At first the guy wanted 1,500 each for the two, i got to talking ot him a little bit and got him down to 2k for the two. Both cars would need complete restoration from bumper to bumper, top to bottom. So i ask you nice folks here this, do ya'll think its a good deal? i dont have any pictures(i always forget my camera) but the body's are straight(hard to find a straight 64'!) no major rust, the impala has a small block and im not sure what the biscayne has in it. But what do ya'll think? i only ask here because the impala section of my regular car forum recently closed. Thank you,Jeff
  21. you guys would probably fall on the floor laughing at some of the music i listen to while modeling I'll listen all the way from what ya'll call "emo"(bands like hawthorne heights, from first to last, etc...) to screamo(bring me the horizon, circle takes the square, eyes set to kill, job for a cowboy, teh devil wears prada, just to name a few) to old school hip hop9mostly 90's stuff) then whatever comes on when i hit shuffle on my ipod
  22. I have no idea where this is going, but it should be up on wheels in a week or two.....
  23. and sorry for the crummy pics, just got done skateboarding
  24. Finally some pictures!!! Warning: the photos shown here may be to bad for some to view, as the photos contain very bad bodywork, paintwork, and show signs of a young gear head You cant see it here, but the whole chassis is hangin down You cant tell i loved to go fast back then at all!! dodge 440...magnum rememmber i told you it didnt have a rear end? If ya'll wanna see more of anything just ask Thanks,Jeff
  25. well moving can be a good thing, and it can be a bad thing. i was cleaning out our old shed and i found a box of all my old toys, i found a few models i had built when i was younger! One that i found that i plan to restore is a 84' corvette(guess ive liked corvettes forever!) this thing is really badly done, i guess i wanted to build a drag car so i cut the whole back half out and put in huge slicks I didnt even build a suspension setup to connect it to the stock floor panel! the body work is still in good shape but theback hatch had a tire melted to it just goes to show you how hot it gets here in texas! I plan to restore it back to a drag car, but do it right this time. I'll add a few pictures later to show y'all how bad i was as a youngster But i may need ya'lls help finding some parts, i plan to put a full tube chassis in it, but i have no idea as to where to find it online, I have no idea how I should do the suspension, any ideas? also I need some new rear wheels, the ones i put on it way back when i had super glued them to a piece of brass rod(sophisticated axle ) I may try the freezer trick to get it all apart. so this is what i need, Plastic tubing to build a tube frame/cage. a set of wheels. and a new window part. thank you,Jeff
