Guess everyone has us on ignore . I lost the handbag fight pool. Happy I did. Gotta see the NASCAR Dave. -
I saw your scales. Just not the fishies. Lol. I read it it's funny. I posted a scaly jeep. Can't pass a lame joke though. Full credit for "first!!111!!!"
-
Whole topic kinda fishy. (Cannot believe thread made it this far without that joke)

Really nice build. I was thinking about trying Hemi Dart chassis under it. I only have 67 so need a 68/9 but easier now. Excellent build of a favorite.

Agreed. I think opening bottom up will help. The built also seems to have better tuck in rockers? Will those bumper guards fit the Del Rio?? . -
Did this spoon test of C1's metallizer
keyser replied to Art Anderson's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yes sir I do, J-120, amongst a cadre of others. Whitell painted his Duesies Black, primarily, with lots of polished/chromed fittings. J-186/2354 had the clamshell hood vents you and Lee added. IIRC, only the Mistress car was dark blue. The rest were black/lots of silver/polished/chrome elements. Obviously the Boattail was black and white. Always did like the accents and the oil/fuel cans he added. The Hacker 50' he had used similar, as did his DC-2 From C1 website: C1 Metalizer is a fine rubbing powder that can be applied over a painted surface to create a realistic metallic shine. The powder is very versatile, it can applied over almost any paint type and colour to vary the overall effect. The colour of base coat chosen will determine the hue of the finish - black will create a darker chrome look, metallic gunmetal and metallic blue will achieve a brighter chrome finish. Surfaces can be masked prior to application Decals can be applied on top The finish does not rub off with handling and finger prints can be wiped away which negates the application of any clear coat. The product is very similar to 'Kosutte Gin San' by 'WORK' of Japan but differs in that C1 Metalizer is non toxic and non combustible. No idea why weird font color. Can't fix it. sorry. -

Wow Art, that looks killer. Rub on? No airbrushing? Need to know more. Would look nice on some old resin Duesy I have, Whitell something or another. -

And a wedgie! Banjo lets go and guts won't be an issue. Clean up on lane 1.... Creative using a Hemi oil pan as a wheelie bar/counterweight. He's straddling the transfer case? Wow.

Ermagerd. Never in zillion years. Must. Have. Now. Casey, how do you do it man??!!??

That AMT Maverick boxing was part of the weird tool sharing AMT/JH did, I think it was the last one IIRC. The AMX in 68/69/70 was a JH tool, JH had Javelin, but AMT got the later Javelin to share too, and the racing version. The Olds Toronado was another I forget years, JH 66, MPC 67, AMT 70? Somebody here knows/remembers better than I but they were JH tools.

Nothing at all. You've got some awesome tractors, and using them is even better! Two of the coolest tractors ever. I've only seen their website. I can't even find a place to pre-order a couple and the other Heller stuff like the E-types and the Mehari. I've got a rancher friend who has a restored 9N with a built Mercury flathead he uses in vintage tractor pulls. Pretty funny that's even a thing, but it does well and the flatty sounds terrific. Anybody else have source for Heller? Nothing really on eb either save for a few hugely overpriced kits.
-
Casey has a mayonnaise jar from Funk and Wagnalls porch (Johnny Carson ref). Hoping for better distribution of Heller, and the sweet Ferguson tractor that can be a Fordson with minimal work. Anybody have Heller in US?? C7R. New Ford GT. 991 GT3 RS. P1 McLaren. Im pulling for the RS obviously

Yep, Casey, and swap the CJ scoop that looks a little lost for a Boss 429 scoop.
-
Kinky Friedman ref appreciated. FCA 500 and Jeepope all a commercial.

We're so proud. Have a biscuit and a golf clap. Cool! I remembered that stock car. It's a cool barge, a cruiser.

OK, now 7/19 posts are you and jb. If you don't like kit, ok, say so. That doesn't make it stupid. That's rude, and what causes the breakdown of threads like this. As a mod, one would think you could tell difference. It's a discussion board. Not a "declare my unwavering opinion without discussion or acknowledgement of others". I'm done here. Back to the kit. Either of you free to comment on quality of builds. Or, most likely, not. You do you. Ron, the Landau was neat car, not overdecorated. A bit of a barge, but pretty. Guy had a dark metallic red one, dropped like Dino's that was decades ahead of it's time in late '70's early '80's. Never knew how to get the roofline until your comments about the 67-69. The 2 models you guys did brought that 1:1 to mind, and I've got plan. Thanks.
-
More jb offended than you Harry. I personally don't care either way, I don't use them. We all have opinions, it's where a thread not critiquing 70-71 T-birds but discussing how nice it is to have back doesn't seem logical to comment the kit is "whatever, and I'm not buying it". If you don't like it, fine. But just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's trash. Sniveling comment aside. T I posted 2 very nice builds from members here (nobody commented on those) and you and jb more hung up on the decals than pausing to consider others have differing opinion. I dislike '70's cars and ignore '80's but a few are cool based on 1:1's and nice builds like these. But, that's just my opinion That and 1/4 of the posts in this topic are yours and jb's about a topic neither of you care for, not discussing kit but proselytizing at us that do like it for our erroneous ways.

Quick Overview: Revell Starsky & Hutch Torino

I can't imagine the Batmobiles didn't crush this thing. Dukes has to be best selling kit period, but S&H and no Green Hornet Black Beauty? Just a pathetic 1/32? But, if Elvis and Stooges sell kits, Simpsons and Flintstones, I guess why not. If it makes $ and pays for tool, license why not. Mike, lowest common denominator indeed. There are enthusiast kits, but needs to be sharper delineation. Wheel 56 looks a bit deeper than 54. -

Agree. When the other thread got dumped, an excellent link to the LM cars disappeared, I hadn't bookmarked it yet. Your pics of DE BE and another I forget were cool too. Could you please post or PM me links if anyone has them? I've Googled but haven't found them. You can even use "Let me Google that for you" on me. -
Amazing. 1971 decals offend. Probably hard to sell T-Bird kits in 71. Building tip- don't put them on. Thanks yet again jb for hopping in a thread to tell us a kit is stupid and you won't buy it. I'll alert the media. Good thing it's not a showrod. Here's 2 awesome builds, first by Dennis (dino246gt), the Landau by Ron Hamilton. See this thread: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/6701-model-king-1971-thunderbird/ Wish they'd put the decals on just to annoy people. If those don't inspire you, well, why you reading this thread?

Great kit, but make sure you get body aligned and square, and windshield and cowl piece is not great fit with roof. Roof last IMO, as it needs fiddling, Pretty much drops onto Buttera T chassis with work on fitting 27 hood to body/cowl, stock hood won't work with 8. Tognotti T chassis in Fire Truck rod may fit too, probably a bit short, but could use stock hood/fenders. Baffling to me why people complaining about $.01 piece of cardboard. Price won't pay for "other parts". You guys just don't understand the business Mmmmmmm, cereal.

I like it. Will get built by people, maybe sell 2 to memorabilia collectors. Maybe part done back when, and finished now? Around time of one of the company sales? LeMans cars should be easy, Nascar too. Tires perfect for S&H. So far, not a disparaging word here, Chuck. Handbag fights < post 25 my call. Start pool now.
