  1. Another one of my all-time favourite designs and one of my favourite kits, too. Finished this one this summer, paint is Zero base coats with Tamiya clear, wheels are from the kit but wear Modelhaus tyres and hubcaps. (BTW My camera wasn't able to distinguish between the Chevy engine orangey/red and the body red but the difference IS THERE!) Hosted on Fotki On the other side of this model I had an unfixable paint mistake on the driver's door so I put this decal over it. Since it would now be a "two-sided" car, I decided to go with black-walls too while I was at it.

    1965 Lincoln

Finished this one last year, one of my all-time favourite designs. It's another curbside and paint is my own mix of Zero base colours followed by Tamiya clear. Tyres are old Satco wide whites which I reversed and added my own vinyl narrow whites (using an Xacto circle cutter). It took a fair bit of massaging to get this one together but I was pleased with the result in the end. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki

    1941 Lincoln

Thanks guys. Yes it's a great old kit, compares well to anything today. Paint is my own colour mix using Standox automotive base and clearcoat. I'm afraid I'm not overly fussy about factory-correct colours.

    1941 Lincoln

Finally got round to taking a few pics to post. Having trouble getting real sharp focus but I'm working on it and thought these results could be shown. I did this Monogram Lincoln quite a few years ago, curbside and with no research into colours etc. Painted with automotive base and clear coats, detailed with Humbrol. Thurs.12th Just added an interior shot and one with the up top. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  5. (First attempt at posting photos) Thurs.19th Sept. Better photos posted:
  6. John, thanks so much for the info - think I'm starting to get somewhere with this.
  7. As good as it gets!
  8. I've always admired your model-building skills but also your photography. I'm just now taking my first photos of my models and hope to post soon but my shots will have to improve first. I wonder if you would mind describing your photo set-up, camera settings, lighting etc.
  9. The 2005 Holden Efigy - not quite sure I like it but it sure is swoopy....
  10. This isn't a joke, it's from an actual conversation between a friend of mine and her then three year old daughter while watching an Olympic race on TV: "Mummy, why are all those people running so fast?" "The first one wins a prize, dear". After a short think: "So why do all the others run so fast?"
  11. Beautifully done! Your models all have a "museum" quality to them.
  12. Patient: "Doctor, will I be able to play the violin after the operation?" Doctor: "Yes, of course!" Patient: "Oh great, I always wanted to play the violin."
  13. I had a feeling it might be a re-cycled number. Speaking of Irishmen, what about this one; An Irishman walks into a Library and says to the desk clerk, "Can I have a hamburger please." Desk clerk: "I'm sorry sir, this is a library." Irishman, now whispering, "Oh, I'm sorry, could I have a hamburger please." I'm allowed to tell such jokes - I'm of Irish descent (and blond!) If a Swiss or German were telling the same joke it would probably be "an Austrian walks into a library... etc".
  14. In the 90s in German speaking countries Opel Manta jokes were everywhere. (The Manta coupe was a popular choice for boy-racers who where percieved as being a bit thick.) My favourite: "Have you heard the latest Manta joke?" "Hey watch it, I drive a Manta" "OK, I'll tell it really slowly."
  15. I'm not into slots but I love watching artists at work!
  16. Beautifully done, I'd love to see it moving. The driver figure's stance and expression are perfect!
  17. Why do bees hum? Because they can't remember the words. Two 80 year old guys are chatting at a party. "We went to a great restaurant last night," says one. "What was it called?" asks the other. The first guy thinks a bit and then asks, "What's that flower called that has thorns and you give it to loved ones?" "You mean a rose," says the other guy. "Oh right," says the first guy and calls out to his wife, who's in the other corner of the room: "Rose, what was the name of that restaurant we were in last night?"
  18. Notice the driver is wearing the optional cardboard disguise - wouldn't you?
  19. I'm not a great fan of the original design but I love what you've done with the model. The woodwork and interior are outstanding.
  20. Very nice work! I also built one when they were new but didn't address it's issues. Might do something about the wheels. BTW, I believe Revell's version is based on a Protar kit and has opening doors, metal springs and 200 parts.
  21. Although I disagree with chevyfever2009 about car design I think his posts are clear enough. This isn't a grammar and spelling forum is it?
  22. Very nice - in fact, for a first model, outstanding!
  23. That's really nice - in fact, for a first model, outstanding.
