    60 Impala

Great looking model and really sharp photography.
  3. Gary, Chris, thanks for the compliments. I've always been a big fan of the 59 (and 60) El Caminos and the AMT kit is one of their best, the not-so-pretty joint in the pickup bed sides being the only real flaw. I still think less would have been more with my black detailing though. Chris, your project obviously has a way to go yet but the beautiful black car as something to aim for should keep your enthusiasm up. I recently saw a photo of a Biscayne with this look, black with dog-dish caps - for me just as nice as a two-tone Impala. Here's a shot of the other side of my model. I messed up the paint on the driver's door so I used this decal to save the day. While I was at it I deleted the whitewalls and liked the effect together with the caps.
  4. Looking great! Amazing what a difference your delicate added details make.
  5. Top shelf model building here, a joy to watch.
  6. Fantastic!!! The rust, patching, primer etc, not to mention little details like the wear on the door lining from the window crank - all in all about the best grunge look I've ever seen on a model.
  7. I used those on this model but overdid it with the black detailing. With more care they could be made to look accurate.

    1967 Impala SS

    Excellent!!!
  9. Wow, that is a real stunner.
  10. Another beautifully done interior, Steve. And surrounded by all that shiny black it will look spectacular.
  11. I suppose you're right but I was thinking of an audience outside the model-building world.
  12. In 1970 I bought a new ES335. 6 months later it was stolen out of our tour bus, which was parked right outside the band's house. It was insured but painful nevertheless.
  13. Lots of seldom seen and well built models there. Would have gone had I known.
  14. Excellent! One of the nicest Hubley models I've ever seen.
  15. Another absolutely stunning replica! One hopes that these might one day be in a museum for a wider audience.
  16. Just discovered this. Great colour choices, beautifully built = I love it!
  17. I really like that!
  18. Beautiful!!! Wish I'd made all those improvements when I built mine.
  19. Beautiful!!!
  20. Definitely a steal at that price. I love Johan kits and this is one of their finest. The engine bay and undercarriage aren't up to today's standards but everything else certainly is. Some earlier Johans had unrealistically shallow interiors, not so desirable on a convertible, but with this one they got it right, and the poseable steering is a plus. I did this one curbside years ago. I made the whitewalls and Cadillac emblem myself but it's otherwise box stock. Note the TV - a phone is also included.
  21. Beautifully built and great color choices.
  22. Great looking model from head to toe! Fantastic engine bay and I love the bamboo roof rack.
  23. Beautifully built and the skirts look like they were designed by some legendary stylist.
  24. Looking great, Paul! Very tasteful idea with the slotted skirts.
