  1. Great looking model, fantastic detailing.
  2. That looks fantastic! Looks like a great kit and your work is top notch.
  3. ... and why not the equivalant DeSotos while they're at it...
  4. BTW, here is a link to the WIP: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=97949
  5. Thanks so much for your comments! Feedback is always good, and the tips I received during the WIP phase were essential to getting this thing done. Steve, thanks for the compliment. I was able to buy a Canon 400D SLR camera from my son for peanuts, and I use a cheap light box and 3 purpose-bought 100w lamps. The close-ups here are done with a new Tamron 90mm macro lens that I found cheap. Still experimenting with that - a 50-60mm might have been a better choice. Personally I think my shots are too soft and lack sharpness but I don't have the skill to change that. With these shots I was helped by the fact that shiny black paint just loves the camera. Thanks Mark, I've posted the other two previously and hope these links work: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/?showtopic=79403 http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/?showtopic=92215
  6. That's one really nice Caddy, Al. I did mine with these colours reversed, ie. white with red interior. I like yours better.
  7. Having messed up the paint on the normal kit, I thought I'd try again with the pre-painted version. The body came out quite nicely after polish and foil, although obviously I couldn't remove the mold seams - a pity, but I can live with it. All other parts come from the normal kit as I wanted more accurate colours. I made the steering poseable, quite easily done on this kit, and scratch built front blinker lenses, an antenna, and a horn ring. The mirror faces were replaced and I used AMT Parts Pack tyres. By no means the easiest kit I ever built, with many parts needing work to fit nicely. But I'm very pleased to have this stunning piece of automotive design on my shelf at last. 8. Did the battery again using another of Roadhawg's very nice decals.. The headlights were a bit rough and wouldn't fit nicely so I cleaned them up, then painted and foiled them. No lenses for the blinkers so I made a pair. (Actually I made four, two for the carpet!) The bumpers have ugly mold seams on the sides and the rear has VERY visible sprue attachment points. Here I've dealt with the latter problem but I will finish the work and have them re-chromed eventually. The rear needs quite a bit of work to make it sit straight and I had to notch the exhaust pipes where they interfered. I should replace them with aluminum tube. Then I made my usual antenna with a 0.55x25mm syringe needle and an 009 electric guitar string. All in all, quite a frustrating kit but I'm calling it done and will now post it in Under Glass.
  9. Beautifully done, Carl! You always do such great paint and the foil and detailing is top shelf. I love wagons and I have a 64 Chevelle promo nearly finished.
  10. Fantastic job, Tom! And so great to see a model of a car I've never seen a model of.
  11. Hey Niko, get your priorities right - forget the 1:1 !
  12. Of to a great start. Increasingly I like the 4-door versions of classics at least as much as the 2-door HTs.
  13. Looks fantastic, one of my favourites too, Al.
  14. Fine looking model!
  15. Beautifully clean build and paint to die for! Outstanding.

  17. Beautiful replica, one of the nicest Wills Finecast builds I've seen.
