  1. Excellent!
  2. Very nice, might have to get one.
  3. You did a great job, and the colour looks to be dead right. I'm about to wrap one of these up myself - not the easiest kit I ever built.
  4. Great looking rod, love the black. Might have to get the sedan.

    Fairlane

Very cool, love the colour scheme.
  6. Beautifully done! Those great home-made details make all the difference.
  7. Steve, so glad to see this one on your bench again and those colours look fantastic. I'm particularly fond of the 58 because my uncle bought a brand new pale blue and white Custom 300 4door when I was 8. American cars were much less common than English or Australian in New Zealand and this thing just blew me away. He always had to take me for a ride when he visited and that's where my love of classic US cars comes from.
  8. Turned out really nice! That dash is outstanding. I would have bought the monogram 1.24th kit ages ago if its wire wheels looked as good as these.
  9. Nice job! Specially like the interior and light-bar.
  10. Very slick and clean build and a slightly different colour scheme.
  11. Very nice indeed! Stock, the way God made them.
  12. Very nice indeed!
  13. A real beauty! That engine bay is absolutely top shelf.
  14. First class restoration, looks fantastic!
  15. That is one very fine fifty-nine!
  16. That body looks SO right in that garage! Amazing work going on here.
  17. Looking great!
  18. This thing is coming along great! Love that weathering.
  19. Thanks to you too, Tom - done.
  20. Thanks guys. Rob, it was very helpful to know in advance about these problems, and I'm confident now that she'll turn out alright. Touch wood. Steve, thanks for the help with the edit. Yes, I'm more into the aesthetics of cars than the mechanicals. My first car was a 1964 VW and even with the help of my copy of "VW Maintenaince for Complete Idiots" I got nowhere. Having said that, I very much enjoy it when someone else does a great looking scale undercarriage.
  21. BTW how do I edit the title to signify an update?
  22. Got the chassis finished and this is how it would look ..... ...if I hadn't altered it to make the steering poseable with a wire connecting rod. I've also cut off the axle stubs (top arrow) because I can see already that the stance won't be how I want it. I will epoxy the wheels on when everything else is done, as I usually do. The little white square of plastic (bottom arrow) is to reduce the gap between the A-arms for a tighter assembly. The engine is in place. The next problem was the warped chassis. When properly attached at the front there is this much gap at the back, and vice-versa. I will fix this with wire, as shown. It could also be glued but I may want to disassemble the model at a later stage. Then there was the glass. The front windshield in particular is not well shaped and didn't want to sit properly. I managed to get it looking OK by removing the side vents and glueing it solidly to the cowl and then using these stubs (arrows) and some superglue to force it to behave. Having solved the major problems with this build, I'm beginning to really enjoy it and am quite pleased with the look. More soon.
  23. Absolutely gorgeous!!!
  24. Really nice job. I'm not that into dragsters but I like the nostalgic ones.
